Daggers Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I'm watching 'losing it' on iPlayer at the mo' - being angry doesn't look good at all. The upside is that stats from it say that body builders are more likely to die earlier deaths from suicide or murder. Strange but true! 1 in 3 of us have been involved in road rage at some point and 12% of us have had someone stopping their car and trying to kill us. (Probably a cyclist who is in the car for the day Phube). Do you get angry? Not just 'pissed off about something' but 'smashing things or someone up' angry? What do you do to control it - or don't you think you need to? I used to break things all the time, but that is quite some time ago now. I found that as soon as you stop taking yourself seriously, understand that most people are crap and that the world doesn't stop if you are ever late everything seems to float on an even keel. I'd say it was age but then I look at the twisted faces of so many men my age and realise it isn't anything of the sort. My Dad continues to get exponentially more angry about everything by the day.
danny. Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I don't get angry. Very frustrated sometimes, but never in a rage.

Angry! Lucky bastard, I get frustration! Anger finishes, frustration builds & builds and lingers behind a tight English lip
Mickey O'Neil Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I'm really fcuking angry at the minute. 1) I'm having real big trouble with a personal tutor at the moment. I want to burn his fooking house down with him in it. There's a very good chance that I've just done 3 years at uni for nothing. I'd probably only serve that if I killed the f ucker. F ucking mother****er. I found his address on a letter last night. Mother****er. 2) Phones 4 U are claiming I have not sent back my mother****ing phone and are not sending me out another f ucker until they receive that one. My girlfriend has f ucking tidied up and put the f ufcking receipt somewhere. I've gotta wait 'til she gets home and I'm feeling really impatient. P4U have really been good, it's the thieving Post Office Scum. 3) I've lost my 160gig iPod as well
Tabou Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 When I was 17/18, my mum and Dad forced me to some anger management class. Although they call it "Frustration Aversion Therapy" or some crap. Anyway, basically surrounded by wife beaters, people with criminal convictions for ABH GBH etc etc. Was a complete and utter waste of time.
Daggers Posted 1 October 2008 Author Posted 1 October 2008 Was a complete and utter waste of time. Being surrounded by men reeking of testosterone did nothing for you?
Tabou Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 Being surrounded by men reeking of testosterone did nothing for you? Surprisingly, No.
purpleronnie Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I used to be pretty angry and actually got myself quite a few fights as a teenager. I had a big mouth and thats what caused the problems, but if anyone looked at me funny I would get pissed off. I dont know why I'm totally different these days I'm pretty much the most laid back person I know , and I can never understand people getting upset over little things. I only really get mad over sport and various government issues. But never that mad.
Katy Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I used to smash my room up when I was teenager, proper angry I was but I had issues. I'm a bit more chilled now although it does resurface every now and again, like when I repeated smashed my fist down on a table of broken glass when Leicester got relegated until my hand poured with blood. I now have a 'relegation' wound to remind me what a total twat I am when I get overly angry.
The Blur Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 Only once I did get mad and threw around things in my room and my suitcase at my poor mate That was when someone stole my PS2 memory card and delete everything on it normally I lost my rage for a minute and I thought "Jesus, I'm looking like a dick" and calmed down

I'd have been pretty angry if my parents had sent me to a 'FAT' Club too!

But TBH I just don't get angry... well I do but only at 3 things: Football Video Games And Being made to be late (Traffic/public transport etc). I'm kinda always mellow... live and let live, life's too short etc...
Daggers Posted 1 October 2008 Author Posted 1 October 2008 I'm kinda ... live and let live Yea - I've noticed your live and let live attitude towards bankers and cyclists.
Tabou Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I'd have been pretty angry if my parents had sent me to a 'FAT' Club too! <_< Reminds me of 'Spelling, Punctuation And Grammar' Classes for those students at school who are maybe not as 'advanced' as others...
Guest Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I do have a tendency to fly off the handle at times.
hairy Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I have never got angry to the point where I have smashed anything and i have never hit anyone in my life. However 'makeover' programmes do make me feel as though I could get angry one day
purpleronnie Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I have never got angry to the point where I have smashed anything and i have never hit anyone in my life. However 'makeover' programmes do make me feel as though I could get angry one day You've never hit anyone in your life? I'm always a bit wary of people who have never had a fight. Weirdo.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 The last time I was angry enough to hit someone I was about ten, and it certainly stopped my supposed best mate being a cvnt for, oooh, at least 3 days. I don't really get angry now, just depressed
Asha Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 Not so much smash things up anger, but when I'm THAT angry at someone I usually take revenge in a different, more low profile way. I never get that angry much.

Imagine punching someone's lights out, and not enjoying the moment.
Phube Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 Yea - I've noticed your live and let live attitude towards bankers and cyclists. Just because I can laugh at bankers misfortune and get irratated by cyclists, I mean them no harm...
Webbo Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I don't think I've ever had a fight that I started.I'm pretty easy going it's never occurred to me to hit someone who annoys me although I do seem to annoy others. However 'makeover' programmes do make me feel as though I could get angry one day You're not wrong there mate.
Phube Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 My cure for Britain's ills: At the age of 15 EVERY person should be made drunk and then antagonised. Then ALL those who get angry, strike out etc. should be tatooed (forehead preferably) and never allowed buy drink again! Cure 95% of the problems on Friday and Saturday night!
