davieG Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 win a few games 1-0 and you haven't been watched by the person doing the report! The media don't you just love their integrity - Source: Leicester climbed to top of the division in midweek as they recorded yet another 1-0 win, this time at Colchester. The Foxes were worthy winners in Essex and now they are living up to their pre-season billing as favourites to win the division. Pearson has a big squad to utilise and his brief to get Leicester promoted at the first time of asking is going according to plan, now they just have to maintain the high standards that they have set in the first eight matches. Their success so far has been based on a defence that has leaked just three goals so far with comparisons being drawn to the Arsenal team under George Graham notoriously famous for grinding out 1-0 victories. However, Leicester have yet to be truly tested away from home. Huddersfield should provide the biggest test for them so far and it will be interesting to see how they deal with a side that should be in contention for a play-off spot come the end of the season. The Terriers were impressive at Oldham last week and can feel aggrieved that they didn’t secure victory at Boundary Park. But if they can put in the same standard of performance against Leicester then they will be in with a shout of victory. Town secured their first home win of the season against Northampton in their last home match and now they are up and running there is an expectation for them to kick on and begin to climb the table. After a slow start which saw them fail to win any of their opening four matches, the Terriers now look a different side with confidence starting to surface but they will need to take their chances if they are to stand any chance of beating in-form Leicester. That said, one goal might just about be enough. Verdict: Huddersfield 1-0 Leicester
James. Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 What a load of shit. In the other 4 games we have won in the League we scored 12 goals.
General Smuts Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 What numpty wrote that shit. Although i do partially agree with the Graham Arsenal comparison, no complaints there. EDIT: By this i mean we're as good as Arsenal not that were boring.
Ric Flair Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 I'm glad people think this, it will make it more of a shock when we cnut five past them tomorrow.
hairy Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 I'm glad people think this, it will make it more of a shock when we cnut five past them tomorrow. Never heard it used as a verb before. Have you just read the Kinnear press conference by any chance? To suggest that we might not score tomorrow is sailing into the wind. To suggest our victorys are based on a good defensive record is obvious but slightly blinkered to one end of the pitch. But to suggest we compare to GG's Arsenal is laughable.

That's brilliant, the first bit is the best though . JK Which one is Simon Bird [Daily Mirror's north-east football writer]?SB Me. JK You're a ****. Linkage
lildave3 Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 I'd like to see one person that has apparently 'made comparisons between us and the George Graham Arsenal side'. I've never heard that mentioned.

Listened to about 30 seconds of it. Could've sworn I was on a ship... all that Morse.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 What a narrow minded article. Just because we won our last two games 1-0 we've become a machine that churns out turgid performances like Arsenal did under George Graham...."with comparisons"......no one on the face of the planet has drawn a comparison apart from you numpty. And all of sudden Huddersfield have become table-topping beaters because they drew at Oldham, forgetting how terribly they've performed in the majority of their games before this.
Matt Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 (I'm going to look like i'm moaning here, or being pessimistic, e.t.c, I'm not just stating fact - The reason why I didn't post my thoughts on the Millwall thread before the Millwall match) After reading most people post's on this thread the general 'problem' with the article in the first post is more about the fact there saying we're a defensive boring team - which is a fair valid point from people, however I think the odd people are getting abit bigheaded again with the fact the article has dared to suggest we might possible lose. Just go back a few weeks and look at everyone laughing at Millwall fans daring to suggest they'd beat us.

Nobody is disputing that Huddersfield can beat, and probably will, but the issue is the fact that that mediocre journalist is making us out to be a defensive mechanism who sit back with a one goal lead Arsenal-esque. He obviously hasn't watched us this season, so the least he could do was look at the stats (possession, shots on target etc) which clearly shows that we've been an attacking side. But hey ho', I don't expect the national press to know about anything than the Premiership.
Corky Posted 3 October 2008 Posted 3 October 2008 We definitely didn't grind out a 1-0 win on Tuesday. For the most part we dominated.
