Tilley Posted 25 October 2008 Author Posted 25 October 2008 3-0 win today. Absolutely crazy. Level on points with Chelsea
syston_fox Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Bottom of the football league to joint top in 10 years..... We were top of the premiership in 2001 so that leaves us 3 years to do the opposite!
Bert Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Fair to play to them. I remember when we doing as well as them, and that was with Peter Taylor in charge, he just focked up MON's hard work.

Ultra Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 One in the eye for all those (you know who you are...) who say promoted teams can't compete in the top flight.
lavrentis Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Credit to where it's due. Phil Brown and players.
Matt Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Hull shirt sales will be going up soon! Might have to get one myself
Koke Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Meh.. well done Hull, but more of a WBA lover myself.
davieG Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Dampener Alert A superb start to the season saw Leicester begin October on top of the league just four months after the appointment of Peter Taylor as Martin O'Neill's successor - they had not occupied top place since 1963. Two weeks later, they surrendered their lead to Manchester United but were still in the top four by Christmas. A shock defeat at the hands of Division Two underdogs Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup quarter-final midway through March had a negative effect on the Foxes, who endured 9 defeats and attained one win from their final 10 games. This slump dragged them down to 13th place - their lowest finish since winning promotion to the Premiership back in 1996. Several high profile end-of-season signings - including that of Chelsea legend Dennis Wise - gave fans hope that Leicester could regain their form and rejoin the challenge for honours in 2001-02. I think we all know what happened the following season. Good luck to Hull but it wont last.
Daggers Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Good luck to Hull but it wont last. It won't - but I'd trade places. I love that they bought well, they gelled and they are fun to watch. I love that they are sticking it to the teams who believe they have a right to be in the top flight...and I loved the way they showed WBA up for the sham manner in which they approached promotion. Sorry Hullfox, but I am loving Hull's season so far.

Sorry Hullfox, but I am loving Hull's season so far. Agreed. I was fucking furious with all the so-called intelligent pundits that bought into all this "you have to spend ridiculous billions to stay in the top flight nowadays" sensationalism that went on last year just because Roy Keane overspent on crap. Such like memory for the achievements of teams like Wigan and Reading who did marvellously well in their debut years on little money. Loving Hull, at the moment. What you need isn't billions it's a well organized, well managed, fit, ready side of enthusiastic players.
Daggers Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Loving Hull, at the moment. What you need isn't billions it's an Under21 side from Wales. You're getting carried away now! Put the beer down and go to bed.
Finnegan Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 You're getting carried away now! Put the beer down and go to bed. I reckon they'd hold their own in the Championship pretty well!
eye666 Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Good luck to Hull but it wont last. Maybe not but they've given themselves the best possible chance of staying up this season which they would gladly have taken at the beginning of the season. It's ludicrous thinking that Hull will be challenging for the title at the end of the season but so far so good for them and think they're one of the few good things to happen to football this season and hope they finish comfortably mid-table. We'll see how they fare against Chelsea and Man Utd. Love it if they beat United at Old Trafford - show those Cockney faux-Manc bastards. Also, Geovanni Why did Man City let him go???

Samilktray Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 I wish people would stop asking that, look at their squad! Could still do a job there.
lildave3 Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Could still do a job there. Ireland, Elano, SWP and Robinho. He served no purpose, especially as he seemed to be crocked alot.
Samilktray Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Ireland, Elano, SWP and Robinho. He served no purpose, especially as he seemed to be crocked alot. Who are they?
lookwhaticando Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 I became a little damp when they beat Arsenal. I positively wet myself when they beat Spurs. Those two results alone make this season worth it, even if they tank for the next 20-odd games.
Bryn Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 Sleeping giant, if they make Europe which isn't as ludicious a possibility as it sounds they'll really go places. Huge fanbase, positive fans, a sound chairman and manager, enthusiastic players. I think they're going to establish themselves as a Premier League side.
Tilley Posted 26 October 2008 Author Posted 26 October 2008 Got Chelsea Wednesday, & then Manchester United I think, if they can pick up a point out of either of them two games, that will be an amazing achievement.
