ozleicester Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I AM DISGUSTED.... that i dont know who these little tosspots are I AM APPALLED... that this is not funny I AM COMPLAINING... That this has interrupted the Pearson out threads censorship is wrong
Cat Burger Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 DictionaryNo, sorry I think you're wrong. PS I'm 43 and I don't own a single stitch of G-Star clothing. The 'strange' bit is what I was getting at, keep your G-Star knickers on.
The People's Hero Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I have to disagree with you there...And why has every person who doesn't like Russel Brand resorted to swearing? In particular using ****, don't you know any other words? I think a lot of people judge him on his appearance, and are jealous of his obvious lofty intelligence and shag history. You have two choices, either take the time to appreciate his work; or watch 'you rang m'lord' like the wholesome dullard you are. If you guys were around in the early 20th century I'm sure you would've complained about D.H Lawrence in much the same vein, that is, if any of you would be prudes have ever actually read a book. Daft xenophobes. I don't doubt his intelligence, nor his sexual ardour. It's a personal taste thing; I don't find him funny in the slightest. He's not a cu nt though - he just always craves more and more and more attention and has to resort to increasingly desperate measures to stay in the public spotlight. That said, I don't think this was a publicity stunt... they crossed a line and it was very ill-judged. But there you are. The Newspapers have jumped on it, as tabloids are prone to do. I haven't read the Daily Mail yet but I'm wondering how they've contrived to link Russell Brand to the 'evils' of drug use, asylum seekers entering the country in French lorries, the re-emergence of tuberculosis as a killer, unwanted teenage pregnancies, the approaching apocalypse, England's failure to win a World Cup since 1966 and Henman's abject mediocrity.

Good reply, I will be honest I never used to like Brand but took the time to watch stand up and to read his book. I honestly fail to see how you wouldn't find the book funny James, but I'll not push you further. I like many others are upset about losing the radio 2 show! I see it as a matter, which has been resolved personally, after both men have issued apologies and Sachs himself has said that he will take it no further. Therefore why have people felt the need seek yet more blood? It's senseless and I don't see what any of these complainants have got from of it, apart from the off chance that some Christian radio show will fill the Radio 2 void.

Being honest, I've not read the book. I like to get round to reading books like that, if only because they tend to be a talking point in the pub etc... The posters who have identified the link between this and the Brasseye Special have hit the nail on the head. Originally people were either amused, entertained or a little bit offended, but just got on with their lives... then the tabloids got involved and sensationalised the whole thing and now people are complaining because they feel they 'ought' to. It's second hand outrage.
Zingari Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 isn't making obscene phone calls a criminal offence ?

BigGibbo Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 isn't making obscene phone calls a criminal offence ? I doubt it or a shed load of adult chat lines would have to be shut down, I think it becomes illegal when threats are made or it becomes aggressive!
Cat Burger Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 isn't making obscene phone calls a criminal offence ? I would think so but I wouldn't call it obscene really, they weren't wanking or owt. Come to think of it, if it were illegal the Fonejacker bloke would be in trouble! People get well pissed off on that show.

They just have to be seen to be taking a matter that has already been settled privately seriously, because of the amount of reprobates who have jumped on the bandwagon to complain.
Zingari Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 hey , wussell and wossy i'm going to get my hands on that big fat thing in your trousers your wallets
Rocket-Ron Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 All's well though as Speed has been put on in place of Ross' show on friday.

She seems to be doing quite well out of it all, and I would have had a lot more respect for her if the newspaper she decided to confide in hadn't been The Sun, and the pictures really don't do her any favours.
The People's Hero Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Am I outraged? Am I not? I'd better check out the latest Daily Mail piece, to inform me. Oooh. No, turns out I hate Mexicans. Bloody Mexicans and their drugs.

Tilley Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I have no idea what this is all about. ! The whole story is laughable. How anyone can get worked up about this is beyond me! Yep.
Zingari Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I'm appalled that Russell Brand's name is still spelt incorrectly
Finchy Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Oasis' Noel Gallagher has said he is "outraged" at the furore surrounding his friend Russell Brand's radio scandal.Presenters Brand and Jonathan Ross are suspended from the BBC after making prank calls to actor Andrew Sachs, during which they made comments about Brand sleeping with his granddaughter. Brand subsequently quit his post as a BBC Radio 2 presenter. Gallagher told BBC Radio Ulster's Across The Line show that he believed that the media furore surrounding the incident was an overreaction, and described the incident as "at worst a juvenile prank." "I spoke to Russell, he told me he was going to fall on his sword," Gallagher said. "Personally, I'm outraged that, yet again, the joyless ****ers who write the columns in the Daily Mail, The Telegraph or The Observer have dictated the tone and are telling people how to behave. "I've seen the Daily Mail, they said that Russell should be arrested and charged. Arrested for what? For taking the piss? It's so typical of the English in general. 10,000 people get outraged, but only days after it has happened." Gallagher added: "At worst it was a juvenile prank that wasn't unfunny but it's hardly offensive. I feel bad for Russ, 'cause he really loved doing the show. I loved being on it as well." Well said Noel.
Zingari Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Well said Noel. someone should push that fooker off the stage
Phube Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 I've really tried... but I can't get interested in this story...
Ross-Kemp Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Not that I care either way, but once again the great british public have managed to stick there unwanted fooking noses in. Moral of the story. He should have answered his phone.
Daggers Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Personally, I'm outraged that, yet again, the joyless ****ers who write the columns in the Daily Mail, The Telegraph or The Observer have dictated the tone and are telling people how to behave. No Noel, you are well wide of the mark - it is the process of a society dictating where it sees boundaries of taste and decency and you simply happen to be out of step with most of them. How on Earth you can get "outraged" about this is beyond me unless it is a gut-fear of a nation tide turning against micro-talented celebrities who use the media to slag off the media. It's akin to a child bitching for being told the word 'no'. Someone tell him to shut up or he'll be put on the naughty step.
