Nod.E Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I hate the media. It's official. It was a mistake, and a little harsh. But really, a little of an over reaction, just MAYBE!? Plus, it was funny. They're comedians. And as far as Sachs' families feelings, well without the media broadcasting it I wouldn't have known anything about it. After first watching it I wouldnt have thought much of it, but after a little research it's obvious that the grand daughter in question is not an 'aspiring model and dancer' She's a dirty porn mag girl who pole dances. Where as because of a little joke Brand is branded (no pun intended) as a 'jerk'. It's evident to me that the media obviously hate Russel Brand as a whole - probably because he's getting a lot of sex. Probably because he has a lot of fans. I noticed the biterness in the looks of journalists who've got involved in this, and in the tone of their voices especially. And as for the government getting involved - Anything to keep the publics eyes off of the economy, hey? What are your thoughts on the 'issue' Here's what all the fuss is being made over. I found it funny. It was out of order, yes. But it is hilarious.
Daggers Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I found it funny. It was out of order, yes. But it is hilarious. Tell me when you have a daughter so I can fook her up the arse. I'll do it on air. It'll be hilarious!
Nod.E Posted 29 October 2008 Author Posted 29 October 2008 Tell me when you have a daughter so I can fook her up the arse.I'll do it on air. It'll be hilarious! Point taken. Obviously i'd be pretty pissed off, but if you took all the times that people were offended by jokes from comedians - it would be ridiculous. It would be in the news every day. There would no longer be good comedians. The idea of being a comedian is pushing the line. Brand toed the line a little far in my opinion, but so do many. What i'm saying is it's been blown out of proportion completely, and it's helped nobody.
Ultra Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Tell me when you have a daughter so I can fook her up the arse.I'll do it on air. It'll be hilarious! This no longer has anything to do with anyone's daughter or grand-daughter. It's about a tawdry little tabloid (a sister paper to the Mockery) with a grudge against the beeb seeking to launch a witch-hunt against two entertainers it doesn't like. If that tabloid had its way, all women would be confined to the home, and those who dared to voice dissent would be put in gas chambers. Although that idea might appeal to some on here, eh Daggers?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I think they crossed a line that they'll regret having done, because I don't think leaving a message on some old grandad's answerphone saying you've shagged their grand-daughter is really the right thing to do, is it? That said, the whole thing reminds me of the Brasseye 'Paedophile Special' furore, where on first broadcast hardly anyone complained at all, until the media got hold of it and then the world and their uncle tuned in to the second showing in full knowledge that they'd be outraged and fill the papers with their bleating for weeks afterwards. There is such a thing as an error of judgement, and I should know, I've made loads of them, although no one's ever seen fit to table a Parliamentary motion on any of them. Where's my Parliamentary motion, you swine? Oh yes, I'm not famous, I forgot
Finnegan Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Meh. The difference, for me, is that Chris Morris is a comedic genius willing to cross the line; Russel Brand is a crude and somewhat desperate 'It' boy desperate for attention and severely lacking in anything other than a head for a thesaurus. He's the Jade Goodey of the comedy world.
Raj Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I didnt think it was very funny at all to be honest. Very trassy "comedy" Brand needs a good fcuking hiding! Makes out he is all high and mighty with his"hare Krishna Chants" and then goes on a crusaed to fcuk anything he can lay his hands on. CVNT:angry: Johhny Woss on 6 million a year? Paid for by our fcuking Tv licence? FCUKING LONG HAIRED TWAT! (Although to be fair he is funnier than Bland!) NO ONE TAKES THE PISS OUT MANUEL....HES A FCUKING LEGEND!

Agreed, those two are planks but have become too popular to sack and probably even punish. And Manuel is a legend
Flynny Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 It was harsh on an old, unassuming guy. Had they made similar jokes about someone more famous no-one would be appalled at all. It was misjudged, comedian's jokes will sometimes be misjudged, thats how it goes. Slap them on the wrists and lets forget about it. According to Sachs Ross at least has sent a heartfelt apology.
purpleronnie Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I'm a r.brand fan and the complete over reaction and could only happen in England. The best bit was they had 500 complaints originally but after it hit the media now they have had over 10,000 complaints, I bet you any money 99% of those who complained didnt even know it had happend until it hit the front pages. It was J.Ross comments that started all of this, yes he shouldnt have said it but theres wars going on surely that should be on the front pages not this nonesense.
Katy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Brand needs to grow up a bit and Ross should know better.

Exactly. The media have brought far more attention to Sachs' daughter than a few misplaced radio show comments would ever have done. Bottom line is Brand probably HAS shagged her anyway. Ironic.
Master Fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Some people would do anything for an arse fcuk these days
Suffolk_fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I think they did go a bit far BUT - have I not seen daughters and granddaughters inside these tawdry rags with their tits out, and seen lewd stories (some of which were found to be false) about other people - all of which have parents/grandparents?
Daggers Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I am a total cunt, eh Daggers? You get no dissent from me on that one twatface.
The People's Hero Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Brand is a cock. Ultra is a cock. End of. Please close this thread.

I heard earlier that there were only 2 original complaints or 1 in 100000 listeners now there are 10000 or 1 in 20 listeners. That's the great British public for ya That's not to say that what Brand and Ross done wasn't wrong and I feel they and those responsible for airing the recording should be removed from broadcasting indefinitely.
surrifox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I welcome the whole hoo-ha as it is proving a valuable lesson to my children on what can happen when people start experimenting with drugs

Zingari Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 jonathon ross's wages are obscene anyway, gordon brown's on the case now, so let's see some kicked ass
surrifox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I wish Surrifox were my Dad. first thing up would be extra tuition on the concept of irony young feller-me -lad
Corky Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Both of them need to grow up. Jonathan Ross can be funny at times, Russell Brand never has been, and never will be, funny at all. They won't be sacked though, the BBC will be too scared of losing them to a rival station. The person who allowed this crude shit to be aired in the first place should go.
