Zingari Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 But if 1000 people go to a concert knowing what bernard mannings act is like its unlikely they anyone will find it offensive, those who know about his act dont go, so why then print it for millions to see? Makes no sense. mainstream tv needs to be much more sensitive than concerts that one chooses to attend , i'm sure if russell brand had have made a racist remark on mainstream tv or radio you would understand that whether there were 20 or 20, 000 complaints at the time of broadcast , there would be ramifications obviously RB sees it now
hairy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Its not the 1st time he has been a cock He pissed Rod Stewart off at some awards thing too. Inferred he had shagged Rod's daughter. When Rod took to the stage and showed Brand up he managed to get a full apology out of Brand. So its not the first time he has pulled the same stunt but to do it to a 78 year old man is not a step forward.

lcfcrinaldi Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 What will happen to friday night with Jonathan Ross then? And is Russells ponderland on bbc or channel 4? if bbc what will happen to that? Its jsut a joke at the end of the day.
Nod.E Posted 29 October 2008 Author Posted 29 October 2008 It was out of order, I would have had more respect for them had they done it to Sach's personally instead of cowardly leaving the messages on his answerphone. It has been blown massively out of proportion and its not exactly unexpected when it comes to Ross and Brands track records of offensive humour but at least its all resolved now on the personal side. It wasn't planned. They were ringing him up for an interview about his programme 'The Bill Made Me Famous' but he didn't answer it. Everything they said was being made up as they went along, it wasn't planned. All because 20,000 people who never listened to his show are suddenly offended.Well done to the media. Morons. exactly. The radio is aired to all unlike a Manning concert...and we pay their wages unlike Manning, hence the outragemakes sense now??? Yes but it isn't Brands and Ross' responsibility that it was played on air on the radio. That's down to the editors. 'make sense now???'
Webbo Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Yes but it isn't Brands and Ross' responsibility that it was played on air on the radio. That's down to the editors.'make sense now???' No.
Webbo Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Says a lot. I thought as much. They still left the message on the answering machine, they thought it was funny. Just because you think it's funny doesn't make it right.
Nod.E Posted 29 October 2008 Author Posted 29 October 2008 They still left the message on the answering machine, they thought it was funny. Just because you think it's funny doesn't make it right. I never said it was right. Look back to my original post. I said it was wrong. But the reaction was over the top. The fact it was on the radio isn't their fault though.
poynton blue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I find it so hard to stop wanking, I need to stop clicking on the link to www.poyntonbluesmothertakingitupthearse.com - thanks for the advice. your a silly billy, 1st class twit grow up and go away you twit you lower yourself to that twit brands humour wally
Webbo Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I never said it was right. Look back to my original post. I said it was wrong. But the reaction was over the top. The fact it was on the radio isn't their fault though. The producer, BBC were also responsible for putting the programme out but that doesn't lessen the guilt of Brand and Ross. It was a cheap, pathetic stunt and they deserve all they get.
Samilktray Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Some people in here take life wayyyyyyy too serious. Enjoy it.
Finchy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 they deserve all they get. No they don't at all. You need to listen to the whole program or the podcast and put it in context, you can't just go on what you've heard. I was listening to it and this whole thing is a ridiculous over reaction. It was a joke, people need to lighten up, end of.
grth2004 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 i listened to the show on the saturday night it was aired , personally i thought it was funny but did cringe a little but then again thats russell brand and if you listen to his show you expect that. if andrew sachs is upset then he deserves an apology and as long as he exepts that apology then that should be the end of it. his grandaughter who slept with a world wide star and is in a group called the SATANIC SLUTS im sorry but shes asking for a bit of a piss take. im glad russell brand isnt on radio 2 now he deserves better than those moaning old gits.
Finchy Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 his grandaughter who slept with a world wide star and is in a group called the SATANIC SLUTS im sorry but shes asking for a bit of a piss take. She's just making a big thing out of this and trying to get a bit of attention me thinks. im glad russell brand isnt on radio 2 now he deserves better than those moaning old gits. Definitely, he should have never been put on Radio 2. Some right miserable old gits have been on his case since he started on Radio 2, I bet he gets complaints every week from them.
Daggers Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Fvcking brilliant! The BBC have now produced a 'timeline' of the key moments. I wonder if it will form part of a History GCSE in years to come? I'm loving the way it has totally crushed the US Election coverage on the web.
Samilktray Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 She's just making a big thing out of this and trying to get a bit of attention me thinks. Why couldnt she just do the decent thing and make a cheap porno that accidentally goes public. <_<
Nationwider Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Pretty nasty thing to do to an innocent old man. BBC should have edited it properly considering the intended target of the call. Brand should have got his apology out quicker and that would have been the end of it. Brand and Ross were stupid, but not malicious. To summarise, I despise, in the following order: 1. The General Public 2. The Daily Mail 3. The BBC
lavrentis Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Some people in here take life wayyyyyyy too serious.Enjoy it. Chiiiiiiiiiiiiilllll Bro.
fox123 Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Was the Radio Show not live at the time the lewd comments made? If so how could the BBC of edited the show? This thread has gone seriously off the rails and too many personal insults thrown into the air which in my opinion is bang out of order.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 It was pre recorded according to the news earlier. Couldn't care a less about Love Muscle Russell. Jonathon Ross i find hilarious.
BigGibbo Posted 30 October 2008 Posted 30 October 2008 Its the best thing thats ever happened to Georgina's career!
