CosbehFox Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 What about a loan deal for Vokes? Should Fryatt move. Vokes appears to be struggling at CCC level.
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 No one fills me with confidence that is capable of scoring 22 goals in less than half a season. There might be players out there that can do that, but I don't recall us buying a striker in recent seasons that's settled straight the way and scored right from the off. Fryatt kind of did that when we first got him and I know we are now in a much stronger position in terms of status in our league, but without Fryatt i'm seriously concerned about our promotion hopes. Steve Howard's scoring record this season is the equivalent of a merciless mass drive by shooting and DJ Campbell and Paul Dickov haven't played due to being injured and gernerally not reliable enough. It would have to be an absolutely ridiculous bid for us to sell him surely, appreciated his contract is up in the summer and his tribunal fee would be less than a million. But Mandaric needs to re-coup money and the only way of doing that is through silly tranfer fee's or getting promoted and somehow fluking another quick promotion to the promise land. I like Mackail-Smith and Beckford. But we're not really in a position to get them unless we have £2-3 million and i'd rather have Fryatt than them two anyway.
chamfinn10 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Instead of forking out money why not use our home grown lads that have come threw the academy?
dandannieldanok Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Simon Cox Gary Hooper Jamie Ward All three have been mentioned already and I reckon they'd all score goals in our team.
Joe. Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Instead of forking out money why not use our home grown lads that have come threw the academy? Good idea Ashley.
morris1234 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Good idea Ashley. indeed it is but i personally wouldnt want an acadamy lad having that sort of pressure on him! but.... I DONT WANT FRYATT TO LEAVE!!!!!!
mikey54 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Billy Sharp (Sheffield United) - not sure if he is a regular first teamer - but bagged loads of goals at this level with S****horpe. Hasn't done a lot since.
lildave3 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Bold claim - Stick Dickov alongside Howard and he'll get 10/15 goals before the end of the season if Fryatt leaves.
Samilktray Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 wolves are interested in fryatt so im lead to believe so i'd do a straight swap for michael kightly proven goalscorer at championship level Good call.
Edmund Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Looks like lazy journalism to me. Was from yesterday so didn't want to start a thread of its own and sure its been discussed already. http://www.soccervoice.com/n081252.htm

bluebeau Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Not sure if it has already been suggested, but if Fryatt does leave City ( I hope he doesn't), them IMO we should try & get Lee Hughes. Ok I don't like the guy for what he did, but he's served his time & he's back in football. He doesn't score spectacular goals but he's always poaching in the box. Remember him at WBA banging goals in like they were going out of fashion. New goalkeeper? What about Roy Carroll, he's had a big fallout with Jimmy Jewel at the Shaggers, so might get him on the cheap?
ousefox Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=55652
The Stig Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Roy Carroll has proved inconsistant at every club he's been at. No thanks.
Messi Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Surely any of the other top scorers in the league or Cameron jerome
Swansea_Jack Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Don't fancy taking Scotland off us in exchange for Fryatt do you??
dandannieldanok Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Don't fancy taking Scotland off us in exchange for Fryatt do you?? Yes if Swansea were prepared to pay £1m aswell. Scotland is proven at this level and if Fryatt won't sign then it would be a decent deal for us.
jayyd08 Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 izale mcleod proved himself at this level or grant holt ???
dandannieldanok Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 izale mcleod proved himself at this level or grant holt ??? What ever happened to him? Not long ago a lot of people, especially MK fans, were raving that he was one of the best strikers in the football league and clubs were desperate to buy him, including us.

Dan Posted 18 December 2008 Posted 18 December 2008 Most people near me in Narborough want Rickie Lambert, I can see the logic, but i'm not sure it would work.
