teblin Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 I'm all for comparing him to Pontus Kaamark Would be unfair and pontus is one of the best players i've seen play for this club.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 You don't play for your country if you're shit though, I reckon he'll be pretty good and he's prett big too so we'll have a right scary looking duo whoever plays. Do i have to run through the shite england internationals? Alan Smith Steve Guppy (forgive me!) Barry Venison Gavin McCann Francis Jeffers Seth Johnson Lee Hendrie (again sorry!)
Ozwin Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Do i have to run through the shite england internationals?Alan Smith Steve Guppy (forgive me!) Barry Venison Gavin McCann Francis Jeffers Seth Johnson Lee Hendrie (again sorry!) Yeah like you wouldn't take any of them in a heartbeat if they were linked with us.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Yeah like you wouldn't take any of them in a heartbeat if they were linked with us. Yes - lets sign Barry Venison - I'll start the thread shall i!
MikeyT Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Yes - lets sign Barry Venison - I'll start the thread shall i! Is it wrong of me to ask...but who?
Joe. Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Tunchev shouldn't be compared to Kaebi, that'd be silly. Clearly he's got something about him and that's why he is an international. I just don't see why a "quality" player would actually join us in League One. It all looks good on paper so far (don't get me wrong I'd be pleased with this signing) - something's bound to go wrong though. It wouldn't be Leicester City otherwise would it?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Is it wrong of me to ask...but who? SHAME ON YOU! +
MikeyT Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 SHAME ON YOU! + Sorry! A bit before my football supporting time though!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Sorry! A bit before my football supporting time though! They should teach this sort of thing in school - he was a pundet on ITV for a bit until ITV realised HD was coming and his shirts would have blown up everyone's TV's - oh and that he was shit. Shame they don't realise that about Andy Townsend and Robby Earl! I digress though - get Barry Venison in!
SamL Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 i dont even know why we are comparing kaebi to tunchev. I wasn't. Ozwin said that players don't play for their country if they're shit. My point was that Kaebi played for his country, yet he was shite. Not once did I compare the two.

dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2008 Author Posted 3 July 2008 It all looks good on paper so far (don't get me wrong I'd be pleased with this signing) - something's bound to go wrong though. It wouldn't be Leicester City otherwise would it? lo, I think he'll struggle to settle in England if anything, rather than struggle on with the physicalities on pitch. I doubt he speaks much English and unless Kishishev hangs around he'll find it hard to integrate just like Kaebi did.
MikeyT Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Oh just a bit of useless info but his name is spelled wrong on the thread title. The few times ive seen him mentioned on other sites its spelled like this: Aleksander!
maddog Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 I have a feeling the deal will crash. Why would a quality player join us, something is wrong about this. An International who has played European Football, age 26 so for a centre back about at his peak, i just can't see it. He's probably been paid £20,000 a week, and if we are promoted in 1 season a 50% wage rise to £30,000 or something. It has to be ridiculous money like that, and he may unsettle other players if he is being paid the most. But lets see, he may turn out to be awesome and sign for a Premiership club for a lot more than what we paid for him after a season or two.
MikeyT Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Before anyone moans and says Wikipedia can be changed..I KNOW!!! lolol But this is what it currently says anyhoo: "Aleksandar Tunchev (Bulgarian: Александър Тунчев) (born 10 July 1981) is a Bulgarian footballer, currently playing for PFC CSKA Sofia as a defender. Sasho, as known to the fans is the current captain of the CSKA Sofia team. The inspirational strong central defender is a regular fixture in the Bulgarian national team and made his debut against Romania in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match. He scored 1 goal against Luxemburg in a UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying match in Luxembourg. Tunchev is expected to move to a foreign league soon. There have been rumoured interest from Russian, German, English clubs and Paok Thessaloniki. After Leaving CSKA Sofia he is in talks with Leicester City For a £800,000 Move to the english team. This will be his 1st league club outside his own country. It is likely he will move to the foxes for a nominal fee. (somewhere around £800,000-£1 million) He will be leaving CSKA Sofia who he played with former Portsmouth striker Todorov".
reynard Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 Smells of MM big time if it comes true. How the hell are NP supposed to know CSKA Sofia is in financial troubles and is selling their best players. On the paper a major coup, the guy is a captain for the Bulgarian league winners and is part of the not to shabby Bulgarian national side, but again so is Kish. We will have to keep Kish if this happens, so he can get integrated fast. Mixed feelings on this one, but he is a defender, and we need defenders. Can he play leftback? Quite easily actually. It was in some of our national papers that they were refused their liscence to compete in this years champion league and owe their govt a lot of unpaid tax. The club was threatened with relegation to the third tier of Bulgarian football but escaped this pnishment. I will be amazed if this happens. After all he is only here for talks and personally think he will end up somewhere else. Maybe he is being offered club captaincy and a lot of money otherwise he will want to play at a higher level to maintain his international career.
Daggers Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 On this website it shows his biorhythms for today - and intellectually he is down to 6.7 ... anyone feeling that thick is bound to sign for us.
barmy76uk Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 just seen this on wikipedia saying he plays for leicester city http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgaria_national_football_team
SamL Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 just seen this on wikipedia saying he plays for leicester cityhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgaria_national_football_team Anybody can edit Wikipedia. The signing hasn't even been confirmed yet.
Daggers Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 A certain poster on the forum overheard the receptionist and the security guard talking about how MM had gone off to meet Tunchev. The Merc says "Bulgarian international Aleksander Tunchev was flying into England today for signing talks with Leicester City."...and they're never wrong.
Nod.E Posted 3 July 2008 Posted 3 July 2008 He's already in England. Is he in Leicester though? eh, eh?
