CosbehFox Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Pearson's reaction at the end was superb. All game he was at. Beautiful. The penalty - stonewall decision: Hobbs was stupid, clumsy and late. Agreed. My immediate reaction was you clusmy so and so.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 I'm feeling intense pride tonight. Three feelings of absolute ecstasy for the goal, penalty save and final whistle. Where other "big clubs" have gone to places like that and been beaten by a team raising their game and battling their way to victory, we keep on fighting for every ball and putting our bodies on the line to preserve our place at the top. I thought once we went down to ten men, King was absolutely instrumental. He has played every minute of every league game and I hope he's feeling proud tonight too. Never stopped hustling and harrying. They didn't really create anything once they were down to ten men because of our workrate in midfield and the effort of a mix of loanees like Bunn, Brown, Gilbert and Cleverley and our own youth products like Mattock and King. And of course big Steve too, who was brilliant yet again. Good work chaps. If any of you are reading this, thank you.
Corky Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Just a fantastic day. Brilliant atmosphere on the terrace and a terrific all-round effort from everyone. Fryatt's finish was top class, and Bunn's penalty save also. We deserved it for the work-rate and determination to see it through. Highlights of the day- Howard taking out their keeper and chanting at him Pearson whacking the dugout and his pumped-up celebration at the end Taking the piss out of the poor steward at the front "Ballboy is a Leicester fan" My favourite away day of the season
SamL Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Brilliant day out.First of all, thanks to SamL for blagging us onto the terrace. FoxTravel wasn't too bad either. Howard's gonna get ya! That was quality. If Fryatt wasn't so greedy then it could've been more, but ah well, a lovely win. & Nigel Pearson, what a hero. Showed pure passion at the end & didn't stop 'til every player had been over & clapped the fans. Huge three points. Crackin' excuse though don't you think How I managed to come up with that I have no idea. If I hadn't managed to have got on the Terrace I'd only have myself to blame, I should really have tried to switch my ticket before today. Not quite sure why they were selling terrace tickets on the turnstiles and then were funny about people switching between the seats and the terrace? All in all, a good day out with a great result to follow. Steve Howard was immense, while Mark Bunn didn't have a bad game either.
CosbehFox Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 I am no fan of King but today he was superb. He's the League 1, Welsh Cruyff.
Tilley Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Crackin' excuse though don't you think School trip?
SamL Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 School trip? Good old school trip I made it up as I went along. I think I gave an excuse to every Steward as to why we couldn't change our tickets. I found it funny how about 20 Stewards were saying we wouldn't be able to transfer, then pretty much the last one just gave in and said we could. Quality. I'm glad we did manage to switch though, the Terrace was quality.

Explain please.
Corky Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Really. Explain please. Well, Howard sort of fouled their keeper, there was an argument and then we were chanting at Phillips- "Howard's gonna get ya" and "You're just too scared of him". Quality.
Anish Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Great determination and commitment, not so great performance. We battled so hard after Hobbs' sending off (which was harsh but I can see why it was given) and restricted Bristol Rovers. Ironically, we looked more dangerous going forwards on the counter attack and should have scored at least one more (Cleverley's pass back when he was one on one was embarrassing and Fryatt should have buried his chance). Really dug in and showed our passion - well done to the team and Pearson. It was a fantastic win given the circumstances. Bunn - top class penalty save!
Cobbo Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Really. Explain please. Howard and Phillips:Howard dives into him while Phillips is in the aisle of the stand collecting the ball getting a coffee. Phillips then mouths off somewhat to Howard, who is called over by the ref. The ref is telling him to calm down, while Phillips continues to berate him. At which point, big Steve has simply had enough of this handbags. 'come over here and say that. Now. Don't ignore me you ****, come over here and say what you were just saying, toe to toe'. Phillips does not and the Steve is not booked. Bloody loved it, the big mentalist.

Quality.I'm glad we did manage to switch though, the Terrace was quality. That sounds funny. It was terrace at all costs. I hadn't had a chance to change mine this week so I rang LCFC this morning who said no can do. Then rang Bristol Rovers who said no can do. The woman I spoke to there was very short with me and said there was absolutely no chance I'd be able to stand on the terrace. I was livid and actually had a bit of a sulk about it. Me and Holly begged and pleaded with the bald guy on the terrace and he gave in eventually. Think she charmed him. What a hero he turned out to be. Brilliant day.
Daggers Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 I am no fan of King There's a reason for his selections this season
CosbehFox Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Well, Howard sort of fouled their keeper, there was an argument and then we were chanting at Phillips- "Howard's gonna get ya" and "You're just too scared of him". Quality. Philips also gestured to us - I thought it was a 'no-no' sign but my mate seemed assured he flashed a 'w***er' sign.
Corky Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Philips also gestured to us - I thought it was a 'no-no' sign but my mate seemed assured he flashed a 'w***er' sign. He did yes- second time this season he's had stick from our fans.
Guest Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Loved the banter with Phillips. It was pretty much one sided banter, us calling him a willy puller and such like. Not like Ince at Walsall, he was well up for banter
Hullfox Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 when Hobbs rashly conceded a penalty, was rightly sent off I felt the sending off seemed a bit harsh.
Corky Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 And the "England's Number Bunn" chant was good too
BoneDog Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 Aaaaaah, you gotta love his little furry feet. His bollocks are bigger than mine
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 February 2009 Posted 21 February 2009 I can't ever see our OS being this opinionated in their official report. http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/page/MatchR...1565351,00.html Describing the penalty in their favour as a "terrible decision" and a "farcical spot-kick".

I noticed that. He seems very angry. Also why are they selling copies of the match on dvd?
