Pearson just mention that apparently when we went 19 unbeaten before it was during 2 seasons, so I suppose in someways you could say this is better :dunno:

Well it is better anyway because we have beaten it.

Great win today, we needed that win so much, i think this result may just be the win that takes us up. massive game next week do you know if mk dons will give us anymore tickets?

It looks like Big Nige knows who to bring in and when as well

Again both Brown and Bunn sound quality (although I must put the disclaimer I haven't actually seen them play!)

Let's not forget MKDs have their own IFs to worry about if S****horpe win their game in hand they'll be just 5 points behind MKDs and they've still got to play S****horpe away, albeit towards the end of the season. Potentially just a 3 point gap with 15 games to go.

Yeah, there are lots of potential ifs that may potentially disrupt their season. :giggle:

Including their game in hand over us against Millwall.

I broke down three times on the way there and missed the M5 junction, ending up flying into Wales on the way home. I stood behind the tallest man in the world and smacked my head on a barrier when they cocked up the penalty...

That was a BRILLIANT day out.

Anyone see the sky on the way home? Beautiful.

Today the lads have guaranteed us at least 2nd place. At least

Mathematically?

Don't think so maybe :dunno:

As I said I think we are up and up as champions, but until it is mathematically impossible to catch us i'm not celebrating properly.

Great day.

Great defensive performance. Absoloutely quality to keep that at 1-0.

Howard telling their keeper to 'come here and say it to my face' was great. Ran his socks of in the second half.

Gilbert played very well I thought as well as King and the defence. Oh Mark Bunn is the man.

Anyone else get any aggro off the Bristol fans afterwards, had 3 chavs telling me to get the fook out of Bristol. Then some bloke was trying to wind me up by saying, we will come straight back down, were an ordinary side, Scunny and Oldham are better teams. Shut up, weve just beaten you in your poxy shed with ten men. Then these lads followed us back to the car, trying to trip me up and spitting on my back before they went to the pub.

Should of got Howard on them.

Car park steward kept me back and then sent me out avoiding the trouble, she kept updating me everytime they gave her new news on her walkie talkie. Local chavs didn't quite know whether to have a pop at me or not, in the end they ****ed off when two cop horses came over...well, it was that or the ****-off bike chain I was holding :D

Let no one be in any doubt - Howard was immense today.

Bloody hell, not much aggro then!

Our 20th game unbeaten was hard earned but well deserved.

Apart from the penalty Bristol were allowed very little sight of goal.

Bunn was the hero. His save, low to his right from a reasonably well hit shot, was brilliantly saved and just as importantly hung on to. The keeper has some reputation as a shot stopper and you could see why with this efffort.

In the context of the game it earned him MoM for me.

If anyone doubts the folly of having rugby players sharing the same pitch as footballers the Memorial Ground might have helped revise their opinion because the pitch was so bobbly and untrue that miskicks and miscontrol was commonplace.

Our goal came from an orthodox but well executed free kick. Floated Oakley delivery left of the left-hand post, header by Howard back across goal and a deft touch by Fryatt into the net. Good, clean, simple with Fryatt, once again, looking keen and sharp even though he did make errors.

Dyer nearly made it two with a sizzling turn and shot that flew just wide and reminded us of what used to be, Fryatt and Howard had a couple of chances each and one move down the right burn out only because we failed to see a pass to the totally unmarked Howard who would have been clean through on goal with only the keeper to beat. Cleverley missed our best chance of a second goal by sidefooting tamely when, with only the keeper to beat, he might have done better whacking the ball.

But this was never a game of flowing football and the less so when Hobbs rashly conceded a penalty, was rightly sent off and City suddenly found themselves playing most of the second half with 10 men.

The penalty didn't really surprise me because we started the second half like so many panicking novices.

It wasn't Bristol made it hard for us but we who made it difficult for ourselves with our mishit fly-hacks from defence, by letting simple passes pass under our feet, by putting what should have been 15 yard passes across to unmarked players straight into touch and by forever giving possession away thoughtlessly.

King stayed above it all and completed a good shift. The defensive line stayed solid even if they did look ugly and Howard looked like Atlas taking the world on his shoulders at times, to the point that he was virtually at a standstill by the end.

Great battling victory though, goodish atmosphere, Pearson pumped the air with delight at the achievement of it all and City finished a significant step closer to promotion whether they win the title or not.

I love Pearsons attitude he comes on the radio and gives an honest opinion trying not to get excited, giving nothing away doesn't get cocky or talk rubbish like previous managers and gets his talking done for him by his players on the pitch.

you see a picture like this...

just shows how passionate he is and the fighting spirit we have in this squad

16 points clear of third, 12games left probably 12 points would be enough even relegation form can't stop us now!!!

a decent result next week and it could be done and dusted within the next 3 weeks

Brilliant Day out; you worry me. ;)

I could only listen to the first half, nerves couldn't stand it.

Brilliant result.

Do you mean it sounds like a lot of aggro or none?

If thats what is considered aggro these days then its quite funny.

Brilliant day out.

First of all, thanks to SamL for blagging us onto the terrace. lol:D:thumbup:

FoxTravel wasn't too bad either. :o

Howard's gonna get ya! That was quality.

If Fryatt wasn't so greedy then it could've been more, but ah well, a lovely win.

& Nigel Pearson, what a hero. Showed pure passion at the end & didn't stop 'til every player had been over & clapped the fans.

Huge three points.

Well, I would call that a lot. I dont know how things were back in the day.

Pearson's fists into the air were very Stuart Pearce. That win meant the world to him, it's bloody superb to have a manager like him after all this time.
