Anish Posted 28 April 2010 Posted 28 April 2010 Barca's lack of firepower up front cost them. Barca played at too slow a tempo and Messi was marked out of the game, like in the first leg. In the end he didn't want to take any risks and kept playing the sideways pass, which just isn't effective. I think Inter deserved to go through, but they were play-acting, feigning injury and time wasting too yet nobody mentions that. Busquets obviously dived but Inter were just as bad in the end. Mourinho is a prat - everyone loves him here because it doesn't affect us, but how would you feel if Dave Jones did that in the playoffs against us at the Walkers? He clearly has never heard of the word "dignity". Still, after all's said and done, I don't know why Pep took off Ibra - he obviously isn't mobile so he needs players moving off him and running into the box to move the defenders around. But Barca's attackers hardly got into the box so there was not much Ibra could do on his own. I've been one of his biggest critics and still think he isn't the right man for Barca, but Guardiola should've brought on Bojan earlier or pushed Messi up front and withdrawn one of Toure or Busquets. They are great defensively but they offer next to nothing going forward. If Iniesta was fit I think he would've made a big difference, but that's another story. Hopefully Guardiola will now realise he needs to get another proven striker in the summer and strengthen the depth of his squad.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 April 2010 Posted 28 April 2010 I can only really think of Lucio who was consistently feigning injury on Inter's part, to be honest, and it's that sly look from Busquets, and the reputation that follows him around, that DOES MY SUEDE in. He tried to get Motta sent off by being the biggest cunt imaginable. And Clive Tyldesley is a wank commentator.

Beglin, for me, is nearly as bad as Pleat.

FoxyPV Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 Barcelona reminded me of Arsenal last night - all sizzle no sausage. Almost every time they were within shooting range they passed the ball to the side/ looked for the impossible pass to score the perfect goal rather than having a shot (Keita excluded - he just hoofed everything that came near him). Moratti must be laughing his balls off - 40m euro and Eto'o for that plank Zlatan, who again showed when the big games come he doesn't produce. Does this show that without Iniesta Barca are just a good team and not a great team? Hats off to Inter's work ethic and defence - absolutely superb last night - epitomised by Eto'o making a vital tackle in the right back position. Bayern to win if Ribery gets off his suspension.

No, it shows that if you mark Messi out of the game, you've got a chance against Barcelona. Let's not forget Inter lost the game and were not far from getting knocked out. But that's seven (!) games now against a Mourinho side that Messi has failed to score in. That's quite impressive, especially after his shows against Arsenal (games without Iniesta and where Zlatan scored twice btw).
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 Cant see past Inter winning it now (especially as I need them to cover my loss after knocking out Barca). Mourinho is a fantastic tactician. Makes me laugh that people believe he'll be going to man city next year...yeah right. Real Madrid will be his next stop, possibly with portugal national side after that?
Uncle Albert Posted 29 April 2010 Author Posted 29 April 2010 Loved the result of last nights game and really enjoyed Mourinho's celebrations, he tactics last night were brilliant he numbed Messi over 120 minutes of football, if I can remember Messi only had one good chance over the two legs and Cesar pulled off a worldie, this is no dig at Messi because Mourinho really got his tactics right. Hopefully the Final will have pleanty of goals in it.
Koke Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 Real Madrid will be his next stop, possibly with portugal national side after that? Mourinho would never join those fascists. He has a huge ego. He would not allow to be dictated and dicked around with by the powers at the top at Real in terms of transfers and whatnot. Mourinho is his own man, he will not tolerate being told who to buy [bar Shevchenko] and who to play. Jose's character do not fit in with Real's philosophy of how to run a club. Nonetheless in regards to the game, I don't particularly hate Barcelona, but I'm so happy this worldwide Barca wankfest is over/. I don't like Inter very much either, but what they produced last night was a defensive master-class of the highest order. Every man knew his job and stuck to it. It was a disciplined performance. This was no fluke - the game plan and organisational set-up was absolutely world class. Every Inter player deserved that victory.
Koke Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 Also, Zlatan Ibrahimovic = £60m + Samuel Eto Whoever was behind this genius transfer should be shot. Inter took them to the cleaners.
Tony Pine Posted 29 April 2010 Posted 29 April 2010 awesome defensive performance. the busquets pics are brilliant. mourinho is such a troll it's hilarious.

Most Barca fans would agree with you I said at the very start of the season after I was at the UEFA Super Cup that Ibrahimovic's signing could be a big mistake and it's turned out that way. For somebody in his late twenties to be unable to move shows extraordinary laziness, poor fitness or just bad tactics, or a combination of those three.

Agree with you, I think that if Ibra showed that he was more interested he would be a great player as he is technically gifted but he is so fooking lazy! Eto'o is a much better player suited for Barca in my opinion.
ScouseFox Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Howard Webb will be refereeing the final. Interesting choice.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 yes Bugger, was hoping it wouldn't be because I'm out later on so I'm gonna miss it. At least if it was only on Sky I would have had the consolation that I'd have missed it anyway. <_<

Tommeh Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Undecided. Bayern to win it for the best league. Inter for Mourinho and meeting some of their top guys in Leics Square pre palace.
Samilktray Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Hoping Inter win purely for Mourinho and the fact hes playing the Krauts.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Undecided. Bayern to win it for the best league. Inter for Mourinho and meeting some of their top guys in Leics Square pre palace. Same quandry facing me. Think I'll just cheer for whoever's losing.
Anish Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Bayern please. Mourinho to lose a final (for a change) would be hilarious.
