Filbert_Ross Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 Currently on loan at Barnet from Southend, how about getting him here? he turns forty next month and is the oldest player playing in the football league, his experience could be just what we need over these final games to make sure we cross the finish line.

JoeyB Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 Steve Ogrizovic to solve our keeping problems, or Mark Crossley.
billyfox1 Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 I don't think Bobby Charlton is playing for anyone at the minute. Maybe we could snap him up on a 3 month contract

The Blur Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 I thought we could pair him up with Windass or alternatively play a 4-3-3 formation with Hayles
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 March 2009 Author Posted 5 March 2009 or alternatively play a 4-3-3 formation with Hayles I couldnt see that working to be honest.

Alf Bentley Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 I assume that Michael Foot is still a registered player with Plymouth, isn't he? He certainly was 6 years ago and he was only 90 then: From wikipedia: "In 2003 Foot turned 90. He has been a passionate supporter of Plymouth Argyle F.C. since childhood, and served for several years as a director of the club. For his 90th birthday present, the club registered him as a player and gave him the shirt number, 90. This made him the oldest registered player in the history of football. He has stated that he would not 'conk out' until he had seen his team play in the Premiership". He could also serve as a utility player as he is capable of starting on the left wing and cutting into the middle ground (a natural inside left, for you old fogies). Might have problems abiding by the club dress code, though...
breadandcheesebrother Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 he'd certainly help us go the final furlong.
Asha Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 We should offer a blue peter presenter the chance to feature in one of our games.
Cobbo Posted 5 March 2009 Posted 5 March 2009 I hear Roger Milla is still going strong... I see you baby, shakin' that ass.

Filbert_Ross Posted 8 March 2009 Author Posted 8 March 2009 Barnet 3-1 Chester John O'Flynn scored two second-half goals to help secure victory for Barnet in their League Two basement battle with fellow-strugglers Chester City. O'Flynn firstly curled in a 22-yard free-kick after Neal Bishop had been fouled by Chester's Jay Harris. Kevin Ellison slid in an equaliser for City before O'Flynn scored from the spot after Paul Furlong was fouled by Blues skipper Paul Linwood. A Furlong diving header from an Albert Adomah cross sealed the Barnet win.
