unreachable Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 http://www.clubfanzine.com/rochdale/v2.showNews.php?id=18792 Nicky Adams has returned to his parent club after Leicester refused permission for Dale to extend his loan. Adams made 14 apperances for Rochdale scoring once and setting up goals on four occasions in the process. I hope he has gained some confidence from his stay at Rochdale and can hit the ground running at Leicester. He hasn't impressed me apart from Leyton Orient away when he changed the game when coming on as a substitute.
JakeShingler Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 YES! Quality player i guess we got him back because of Tom.
Scow Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 It's probably in response to Cleverley's injury. Adams is similar to him in a number of ways. He looks a bit like him, he's northern and plays in the same position. He's just not as good.
CosbehFox Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 I hope he has gained some confidence from his stay at Rochdale and can hit the ground running at Leicester. He hasn't impressed me apart from Leyton Orient away when he changed the game when coming on as a substitute. He galvanised us at Orient and did well at Hudds setting up a goal. I think he's similar to Cleverley in the sense he often tries too hard and forces the pass etc. If he keeps it simple and he has a decent footballing brain, he'll make the grade in L1 at least. I hope he's on the bench for Saturday.
JoeyB Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Reckon this is as cover. Without Cleverly and King we are quiet short on midfielders. So by bringing his back it gives us a another different option to explore.
Ric Flair Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 I'm glad, would be a shame for his Leicester career to have been all but over already. He seems to be a confidence player, still think he's got the ability to be a decent player for us.
Simi Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Smart move, he's a hardworker who probably hasn't got as much of a chance as he deserved. A lot to prove, hopefully this chance will spur him on.
Lillehamring Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 definately something to be pleased about. could inject a bit of enthusiasm and energy into our wilting midfield. from what i remember, he was quite involved and lively in pre-season, i'm sure the loan spell was initiated by pearson for adams' own good rather than cause he was dead wood a la DJ. sounds like he did ok at rochdale, i'm sure if NP doesn't rate him he'd have been looking at a loan, i'd expect him to be on the bench come saturday...

Thracian Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Seems like Pearson would sooner have anyone but Porter. One goal in 14 games at Rochdale from Adams is hardly inspiring but we're sure going to need someone in the middle and he does represent a bit of energy. Whether he can add anything else remains to be seen but I hope so. But most of us can see there are other significant weaknesses too and if Cleverley's out for the rest of the season they need to be addressed. I never thought I'd say it but if Porter really is worse than some of the people who'vce been wearing the shirt lately, which I truly cannot believe, then Pearson needs to get yet another loanee in. We're dragging the bottom and it's showing in the way we're playing. Even though Mandaric and the crowd seem to be assuming we're up, we're not.

Corky Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Hopefully the spell away has done him good. Played well at Orient and Colchester so he can do it.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Always liked Adams, don't really know why. I'd like to see him given a chance, seems like a sensible move by City in bringing him back.
clazkel Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Im really glad Adams is back and i hope he gets a chance to prove himself. I think he links up well with Fryatt, so i hope he gets a chance against Pboro
Lovejoy Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 Bloody hell, I'd forgotten Porter even bloody existed  . When's the little runt's contract up?

Hitesh Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Hope he gets a start - he will be match fit and I reckon up for it because he will want to prove his place in the squad after being on loan for a couple of months. No better place than to have a good performance!
Joe. Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 I still can't work out why he's so highly rated here? I've seen him perform good once, twice maximum.
STUHILL Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Other than looking about 12, think he could have a part to play. Cleverley was a good player for us but not outstanding. Adams should be able to do fit in nicely if required. He's match fit and probably wants to prove himself so he can have a shot at Championship football next year. His energy will definately help if nothing else! I see him on the bench for Posh, with Gradel, Oakley, Berner and Dyer starting!
Ultra Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 He looks a little more match-fit than Gradel, so may even make the starting line-up on Saturday.
Finnegan Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 One goal in 14 games at Rochdale from Adams is hardly inspiring They're second in the league and he seemed to have been playing regularly. Can't have been that bad. We can't really judge without having seen his games for them, they seem sad to be rid of him. I'm aware it's a lower level and that Adams has never exactly set League One on fire but there's no need to get negative really. None of us train with City, we can't have a clue what's going on between Porter and Nige. No point playing players if they don't get on with you, you need a bit of harmony in the squad.
Koke Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 Zinedine Porter should have asked for a loan move to another club seeing that he's not part of Nigel's plans. He's not playing any football, not match fit at all and he is at an age where he should be playing regular football. Nice to see Adams back though. We are down to bare bones so we need him.
carterfox90 Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 hope he returns & proves a point liked the look of him when he played his chance to shine

He's just waiting out his contract so as not to exhaust the wallets of Mourinho and Benitez, he knows they'll be hesitant to pay the £40m to take him before it ends.
