Leeds think they'll (catch us... but they can't) win the play-offs

Enough is enough!

Listen to youselves on here. Leeds fan here and it is going to take the mother of all turnarounds for us to catch you, nevermind you not going up. I came on here to see the general view of things and expected a few of you to be a bit nervy, nothing more. By the law of averages, you will somehow scape 5 or 6 points at least and yes, maybe fall over the finishing line, but as long as you get there, the manner doesn't matter.

If you do cock it up, GREAT, but it ain't going to happen.

top of the league with just 5 games to go but it feels like we are battling relegation on these message boards....

I know we have let a substantial lead slip away, but we are still 2 points clear at the TOP of the league, and 7 points clear of 3rd.

our run in is not as easy as some, but we should come away with a decent return of points.

it seems alot of 'fans' have already decided we will lose to leeds and scunny...I'M SURE NIGEL PEARSON AND THE TEAM MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THAT!?

Just as well we build up such a comfortable cushion...terrible run of form, yet still clear at the top!!!...Leeds are dreaming if they think they can catch us.

it is all in out own hands now...a 5 game mini league and we are going in with a 2 point advantage.....bring it on....I still think we will win the league title, but I would settle for runners up spot and forget about 3rd tier football forever...(or at least a season)

Finally someone with some sense. :chant:

Mate welcome to pessimistic Leicester

...Because if you wanted boring, sure-fire certainty coupled with a virtual guarantee of results then you'd be wearing a Manure top and take to watching them on the TV in the pub on Sundays.

Life, like the fortunes of almost every other club in the country, is unpredictable and shit happens. How you deal with the downs marks your measure as a man and teaches you to appreciate the ups (no matter how rare they may be).

If we'd guaranteed promotion by now then the forum would be full of threads about how dull it is and how we have nothing left to play for. Just as the tail end to the last two seasons were exciting because we suddenly had an awful lot to play for - so too is this one. Each and every game between now and the end of the season is important, each one will be tense as we grind out essential points.

For one, I am seriously looking forward to the next three games.

If only I had the rocky training montage on the stereo when reading your reply.

Believe me, there's no doubt in my mind that we will not get automatic promotion, but to finish second will feel like a defeat after leading for so long. Right now, after the last few seasons of Leicester City, I'd take a nice boring blitzkrieg on the title.

Ding Dong! A Leeds fan with an opinion which isn't clouded.

I'm sure we could find pictures like that of Leeds fans from 2 years ago and even from Wembley 1 year ago...

btw when was the last time you won at Wembley?

Hold on where's the pictures of the constant losses in all those cup finals, big matches at end of the season? You sing that song about Champions of Europe yet lost in the final?

I also forgot that when we went down, we didn't feel the need to attempt some pitch invasion to get it called off.

I think you lot have messed up the last few games. Peterboro have won 10 more points than you in just the last 6 games so Leicester finishing first is looking very unlikely the way Peterboro are playing. Millwall and Leeds still may catch you. Leeds have made up 8 points last month on Leicester and if they beat you next week( which is now looking likely) then I dont think your automatic promotion chances are not as good as they were before.

However, the league table isn't decided on the form of the previous 6 games. Hence the reasoning for it's unpredictability and the reason it causes so many up's and down's. Every team's good spell has to finish, every poor spell finish.

True but there isnt many games left and there are a few teams in good form that I think are likely to maintain that. Leicester have been in good form for most of the season but looking at one or two of your players, especially Fryatt isn't producing the goods like he has done for most of the season. Maybe that is something to do with having a new contract now..

I think Posh will take top spot and its between the Foxes and Millwall for second spot (if current form stays the same!!)

No shit....

You are quite correct of course, I wonder how many more fans of other clubs are going to come on here and state the obvious.

This fook up (for want of a better phrase) is typical of Leicester though, we should really be used to this by now.

But we haven't actually fucked anything up yet. We are still two points ahead of 2nd, 7 ahead of 3rd.

I wouldn't swap our position with anyone else's.

Peterborough have the momentum, though, and an easier run-in.

But Simon Grayson didn't seem too confident of catching us when he appeared on Sky last night.

Well probably more confident then me expecting you to admit you were wrong and beaten by the better man!!!!!

I won't take the piss out of Leeds saying this unless we get 4 points from the next two games. That will put this idea to bed.

Exactly! Theyre 2-1 up now .... Beckford gone off injured apparently. Delph just picked up his 5th booking (again) and will face a suspension but sadly not against us!

Leyton Orient down to 10 men...BUT Leyton Orient 2 - 2 Leeds United
