Father Ted Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 That'll just make reading the table even more fun. You crack me up Bert!
Shrenchel Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 This holier than thou shit about Leeds and racism needs to stop, referring to the past chanting etc is a joke...surely you remember the disgusting chants from City "fans" in the past i was ashamed of it then, and as i understand it..they still occur in many pubs every week. They are a minority, and we all wish they did not support our club I am sure Leeds feel the same (as evidenced by a particualrly well written commentary from Tony Dorito). The sugestion that they would be banned from our forum for racism etc is fine...however we will quite happily laugh at accusations of Paedophilia, child and animal abuse. Move on.... WE ARE GOING UP say WE ARE GOING UP!!! I agree but the thing is it clearly isnt about this racism thing, or if it is people have got incredible double standards. Experienced any racist chanting from Leeds this season have we? No. Bristol Rovers? Yep, home and away. Were we so overjoyed to beat those dirty racists that there was a 37 page about it? No, everyone agreed it was a small minority and pretty much said fook all about it. Just some tin pot "dirty leeds skum" bandwagon jumping.

I didn't hear the racist chanting from the Bristol Rovers fans at the away match, no-one around me said anything about it, it was only when the Mercury ran a story about it a few days later. I always heard the racist chanting from Leeds fans clearly. Leeds fans were very good on Monday, no bad chanting which was a positive thing, but I think the reason so many pages about this particular match is because it was a vital win, against a promotion rival and a big club (because they are, not quite as Mighty as they think but quite big none-the-less) and it's almost guaranteed promotion.

Maybe some of us took the time to write to and phone both clubs about it on both occasions, along with various other related bodies but just forgot that you needed to be kept in the loop. Next time I take action on a personal basis I'll remember to cc you.
C-man Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I have to say, I do hate the 'We all hate Leeds scum' chant. I loved it when 'top of the league' was sung over their 'WALL' chant. Much more beneficial.
lou Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I didnt hear the chanting at Bristol Rovers I must have been away with the fairies ..... bloody glad we got one of their groundsmen sacked now
Corky Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I didnt hear the chanting at Bristol Rovers I must have been away with the fairies ..... bloody glad we got one of their groundsmen sacked now Apparently it was near the back of their stand behind the goal- we were quite a long way from them and making plenty of noise ourselves.
Guest Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Apparently it was near the back of their stand behind the goal- we were quite a long way from them and making plenty of noise ourselves. Ah, was gonna say I didn't hear anything either. No wonder if it was that far away

Alexikokopops Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I'm pretty sure half the responses in this thread are responding to Leeds fans (bad and good)

weluv Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 someone needs to read up their football history. We lost the European Cup Final 2-0 to Bayern Munich in 1975 in Paris. We lost the Cup Winners Cup Final 1-0 to AC Milan in 1973. The point is that this loss was not simply due to a bad decision, the match result was fixed. Previous matches where this has proven to be the case have been awarded post-match to the other side. But UEFA seem unwilling to do so when an english side is involved. We sing WACCOE as a reminder of the trophy we were cheated of, and that we won't forget. Additionally, it's part of the LUFC culture now. I've always asked why West Ham sing 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' but TYG. Oh, and as for complaints about our fans behaviour in Europe, why not go and talk to Liverpool about heysel. They never seem to get any grief about it, and they got All British teams banned from Europe, not just themselves.

Thing is - we don't get any Liverpool fans on here boasting about how MASSIVE they are. Last time I checked they were still in the Prem. Obviously they have learnt from their previous mistakes. And as for losing out in Europe - we have and we don't complain about it - even years later we don't. Dodgy refereeing will always be a part of football, I'm afraid. There's a human factor and there is personal preferences. Whatever the case: Shit happens. Some get over it, Leeds fans don't.
Tommeh Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Don't know how Leeds are gonna cope in the play-offs if Wonderkid Fabian Delph is still in Andy Kings pocket.

Even if you had won those games then you still wouldn't have won anything for 17 years at the moment and would still be a rubbish tin-pot club with fans that can't accept the facts of life so have to complain about it to everyone and anyone. Your teams best days are behind them so give it up and stop kidding yourselves that your better than us. We settled at this level straight away, accept that on last season we deserved to be where we started this season and thats why we have been able to bounce back and succed where u and forest have failed
carterfox90 Posted 16 April 2009 Posted 16 April 2009 i still have the biggest smile on my face after that game just relieved i think that we are virtually up feels bloody great

davieG Posted 16 April 2009 Posted 16 April 2009 Except the ref was actually done for match fixing in the Leeds case Wasn't the ref in our game against Atletico Madrid done, I'm sure he was at least banned from ever refereeing again.
