Head Honcho Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 When we announced Pearson as manager I think many of us were underwhelmed but after a week or two he won us over and apart from a couple of blips during the season it's been plain sailing. So a big thank You to Milan, Nigel and everyone else at the club .....................and not forgetting us the supporters
CosbehFox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Compare the celebrations at Wolves to ours, you would have thought someone had died rather than us get promoted. I think that the crowd trouble stopped any attempt at a pitch invasion. Apparently enough OB to control a Leeds-Wall playoff final.
Cropwellfox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 ...and amongst all of this Cheltenham Town still haven't been relegated! IF they can beat Carlisle next week, there's an away game at Scunny a week on Tuesday... that's doable!!
Sods Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Well what a day, aweful first half great second. Southend never looked like scoring I thought. Great in the stands, surrounded by a lot of the FT. Quality goal celebrations. CHAMPIONS!
davieG Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Magic news There's only one Magic @ LCFc and that's Max
RAFRUDY Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Leicester.......I fooking LOVE you! I am gonna enjoy my beers tonight!!! championes!

leftsideoverhere Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Compare the celebrations at Wolves to ours, you would have thought someone had died rather than us get promoted. Sorry, Babs, but this is just wrong. Were you there? A pitch invasion at southend requires you to be able to leap up the four feet or so that the pitch is above the ground level in the stand, so it was never likely. The double row of stewards and police were pretty keen to stop us getting on the pitch too. Rather than fight with police like the southend knobs we had ourselves a party. I'm well happy with that, and the atmosphere in the away end all through the game, and after was top notch. As Greg says, "this was the best day ever ever ever". Can't argue with that.
Nath Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Just got back. Great day, starting with a couple of beers by the beach, and ending in winning the title. I do love you Leicester Championeeees, championeees, ole ole oleeee
Craig Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Wow. The CHAMPIONtalk celebrations were something. CHAMPIONEEEEEEES CHAMPIONESSSSSSS OLE OLE OLE!

Darkzzz_ Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 What a special day... Words can't describe how much I love this club. The fans were fantastic today and the lads dug deep in the second half and sent us home happy, I am glad it was won in Southend today and we can now look forward to a great night next Friday at the Walkers. Nigel and the staff have done a excellent job and Milan too who has given Nigel all the support, let's all enjoy this and next season we will have plenty to look forward to. Champions!!

mitchofox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Promoted as Champions, Just 4 losses all season and a goal difference of +42... even taking into account the 'blips' we've had that aint bad! would have taken that at the start of the season well done lads
Hullfox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Back in Hull. Would not have wanted to miss that for the world. Thanks to Leftsideoverhere (photo on OS Picture Special) for the seat swap - top bloke, hope you Greg and your mum enjoyed yourselves Saw loads of FT'ers but loved my hugs from Scoweh and JoeyB outside the ground
maddog Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Worst 1st half performance all season, not one shot on target, not one corner, not one chance. Southend missed a sitter when they cracked the bar, then we played very well. I wish Lloyd Dyers free kick went in, what an effort. And Fryatt trying to walk the ball into the net, unlucky. Very glad i was at that match today. Well done Pearson and team. And we did it WITHOUT Steve Howard! Cracking atmosphere, and can't believe the Southend chavs where their drummer was starting fighting eachother! Disgraceful.
Corky Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 So proud of my team and our club today. We didn't play particularly well but ground out a result and won the title. To be there made it so special, I was so relieved when my ticket problems sorted themselves out and I was able to attend, and it was certainly worth it. Nige, his staff and the players- Our fans- on the whole, top class today.

Thanks to Leftsideoverhere (photo on OS Picture Special) for the seat swap - top bloke, hope you Greg and your mum enjoyed yourselves Saw loads of FT'ers but loved my hugs from Scoweh and JoeyB outside the ground No probs, Hullfox. Glad you enjoyed your front seats. We were very happy at the back. Just got home and seen ourselves on the OS picture special. Those hats were all my mum's idea! Had just such a fantastic day. Before, during, after. One more magical away day to add to this season's list of perfect days. Great to meet so many more FTers in the Borough after the game. Sorry we couldn't stay and chat but we've got to be in Harrogate for a conference tomorrow. So proud of the team, the backroom staff, the fans who were just awesome today. As NP said, we didn't play particularly well, and missed Howard again I thought. Poor guy must be gutted missing the promotion game when he's put in so much this season to win it for us. But everyone put the effort in, and the celebrations were well-deserved. Looking forward to Friday now, but also so very much looking forward to next season, and I haven't felt like that for years. Thank you NP.
