willchafer Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 just a thought but anyone reckon we should play him the whole 90 mins against crewe...we have nothing to lose and we can really see how he play a full match not just 5-10 mins sort of thing.

J.Lisemore Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 That's a very generous view of his signings. Apart from the Dickov signing (which at the time i thought would have been worthwhile) he hasn't done anything else wrong IMO.
Cat Burger Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 I don't think he'll be judged on his performances in the games he's played so far, unless he gets a full 90 against Crewe, it will come down to what he's like at training. I don't think people understand how hard it is to come on in the centre of midfield with 20 mins to go, everyone already has their rhythm and passing touch, also no one has mentioned that he made a couple of crucial tackles on Friday, one in our box. I think he could be a really good free signing on a 2 year contract..And he's gorgeous.
Dan Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Screams Lackzo at me. Just as long as he screams ''Laczko, look who got a permanent'' then i'm happy Well actually not true i'm still undecided on him.
Koke Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 That's a very generous view of his signings. Not generous enough, if anything. Apart from Dickov (and I'll even chuck Adams in there as well) who else has he got wrong? All his other signings has played a big part of our success.

Joe. Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Edworthy. Not really, he was only a short-term measure and did alright when called upon.

Ultra Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Screams Lackzo at me. This. No better than we already have.
Kilworthfox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I have seen nothing to suggest that he would be an asset in l1 let alone in the championship. Back to scouseland!
leftsideoverhere Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 He was poor on Friday. But he's young and the event itself got to him I think: he tried all his tricks and they didn't come off. I'd say keep him, and give him a chunk of time against Crewe. He needs to learn how to cope with big occasions, and also that clever stuff from training doesn't work so well on the big stage when the opposition are really trying. Prefer he learns that from games like Friday night than by letting us down on opening day next season.
maddog Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Needs a few more games before we can really judge. Not convinced at the moment. Somehow i can't see him getting a few more
Guest Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Astrit could stay with City, but apparently is being looked at by a Prem club Not a big club like Man U/Liverpool but is a Prem club........ what are the odds on Megson?
Joe. Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Interesting, I'm surprised though. Must be doing something right in training. I'd like to see him start against Crewe, 90 minutes to see what he can do for the first team.

I'd like to see him start against Crewe, 90 minutes to see what he can do for the first team. Precisely this. I don't think he's rubbish or anything, but I've just been rather underwhelmed by his performances. Perhaps a full 90 would give him the opportunity to affect the game a little more. As Astrit himself said, it's very hard to break into a winning team, especially when two of our best performers this season have been in the centre of midfield. If Pearson rates him as good enough for the championship, then he must see something in him we don't - and I for one think he has done pretty well with his signings so far, so I'll have to put my faith in big Nige on this one.
General Smuts Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Plus he can't be any worse at crossing than Max Gradel.
Raj Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Keep it simple and direct???_He'll be ok. Tries to be fancy and doesn't get his hair cut???---FOOK OFF!!!
Edmund Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Astrit could stay with City, but apparently is being looked at by a Prem clubNot a big club like Man U/Liverpool but is a Prem club........ what are the odds on Megson? First thoughts sounds like an agent desperate to get a deal done. If it is true probably West Brom Sounds like he will be a Leicester player from next season as he is already in negotiations.
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Initially, I thought he looked a good player/good future signing. TBH, I am not 100% sure now. Looks like he only uses his right foot and sometimes plays the wrong ball and when he does that either undercuts it or overpowers it. No better than we already have
reynard Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Personally I think he needs to start against Crewe. So far his 4 apearances include two in which he has come on in the last minute. I'd agree that he wasn't that good on Friday but then neither were some others. In his favour is that he shows good awareness and off the ball movement, he seems to want the ball and his basic skill levels seem pretty much ok. Also he was quite prepared to track back and defend and he adds some height to a midfield that will be outmuscled next season. Some of his passing is a bit loose though and he did give the ball away rather too often for my liking. whether he is the answer or not we need better players all over the pitch to have any chance at all next season.

If it is true probably West Brom Sounds like he will be a Leicester player from next season as he is already in negotiations. Just seen an article about Astrit saying how he is open to staying at City and the article was on a Middlesborough website, if that's the Premier League club he was referring to...welll... they may not be in that league for much longer! Benji Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I thought against S****horpe he was just too eager to impress when unfortunately the other players were thinking about lifting the trophy by the time he came on and Scunny were playing good football. He looks like he has a shed load on his day, but by god did he play some awful passes. Hopefully it was down to nerves and wanting to impress so worth a try I reckon.
