Foxhateram Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Wouldn't mind Plymouth away because im working down there anyway However i think were likely to get a relegated side and therefore il go for Newcastle away in front of BBC (they 10 champ games next season dont they?) camera's Bring it!
Corky Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I highly doubt we'll get an immediate local rival on the first day. Maybe West Brom, but not Forest, Derby or Coventry.
General Smuts Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Blackpool away - the day after my birthday. Yes please then.
RizLCFC Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Newcastle if they are relegated would be good, wouldn't mind Forest or Derby, but am just happy we are playing in the Championship next season and i'll take anyone on the opening day.
Hitesh Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Its official...Middlesbrough at home which will be moved to the Sunday to be BBC's first game. You heard it here first!
Fox92 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Someone at home to get us on the right path. I'd love Sheffield Wednesday!
Lillehamring Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Boro Ipswich at home, so we can all give Roy a nice Leicester welcome Anyone know the date for the opening day? Is it earlier because of the World Cup at the end of the season? there's a world cup this year! i'm guessing we didn't qualify Come on you Swedes!
Head Honcho Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Newcastle, Sunderland or Middlesbrough away please
Chromophobia Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I'd be mildly surprised if it isn't one of the big clubs that come down, so newcastle or middlesbro' maybe.
StanSP Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 If it's a home game, whoever it is, I'll be going. If it's relatively local, I may go i.e. if Dons go up, i'll probably go.
Brainy Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 A promoted team does tend to get a relegated team on the first day of the season.
Matt Posted 27 April 2009 Author Posted 27 April 2009 Isn't it all done randomly on a computer? Or is that a myth?
StanSP Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Isn't it all done randomly on a computer? Or is that a myth? Majority of them are. But then fixtures have to be arranged to avoid geographical clashes etc...
Head Honcho Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Isn't it all done randomly on a computer? Or is that a myth? Correct Not sure if you've noticed before but all the return fixtures are in an identical order. For example if we play Forest on the first game and Derby play Coventry then these two fixtures will beplayed in the same week for the return fixture.
lcfc_jme Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I either want us to get a home game first up, or a really ****ing shit away game like Plymouth or Ipswich. So that if we aren't unbelievably good and don't win 6-0, and inevitably play shit, the hangers-on from this season will drop off and enable me to get tickets to the away games that matter. Selfish attitude, and all that.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Surely Forest at home would be an awesome of awesomeness! Nice easy game to ease us in.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I WOULD SAY SHEFF UTD IT CUD BE ANY1 WILL BE INTERESTIN TO SEE WHO GETS IT RIGHT
StanSP Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I WOULD SAY SHEFF UTD IT CUD BE ANY1 WILL BE INTERESTIN TO SEE WHO GETS IT RIGHT You'd never have guessed. Why the capitals?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Newcastle home please. Before they get settled into the CCC
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Ooh a really exciting one... I feel it in my toes that it'll be.... Ipswich Town away
