Babylon Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 More often than not, promoted teams play relegated teams on the first day... so it will be West Brom, Boro or Newcastle.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Hmmm, the first two weeks of August are a bit difficult for me due to summer work commitments, I wouldn't be too bothered about missing Plymouth away, so I'll go for that on wholly selfish grounds.
StanSP Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Blackpooooooool awayA day out by the seaside and giving DJ some stick And revenge for start of last season
Webbo Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Blackpool or Plymouth away would make a weekend away with the family.
john_lcfc Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 My mates dad's, girlfriends cousin knows a man who programmes the fixtures computer and he said we will get Burnley at home.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 I would love Blackpool away, Posh away or someone like Boro or Newcastle. But I have this very funny feeling that it is going to be Watford or Ipswich home or away for some reason.
leicester1993 Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 First ever game at new Cardiff me thinks.. :city:
Bert Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Blcakpool away first game would be tasty. Reckon we'll get Donny at home though.
AmericanScott Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 More often than not, promoted teams play relegated teams on the first day... so it will be West Brom, Boro or Newcastle. I was just going to post that. We'll most likely be on Sky aswell if we get one of the relegated sides.
maddog Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Newcastle away. I feel another early ticket office queue on priority 3 day Babbs could be on to something though, Forest played Reading and Doncaster played Derby last season on the opening day. But Swansea got Charlton. I can see us being on Sky or BBC possibly on the opener, im guessing Forest were. If they were we have to be
MC Prussian Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Ideally, either someplace sunny and warm in August, a place close to the sea to spend a longer weekend. So, that'd be Blackpool, Plymouth, Bristol or Cardiff/Swansea. If we're lucky, we might even play a Northern team away early on to beat the crap weather in late fall/winter/early spring. Newcastle? Sunderland? Middlesbrough? Hull? Or, of course, a nice and feisty derby. Coventry, Forest, Derby, Peterborough, West Brom (or maybe even Birmingham).
iancognito Posted 26 April 2009 Posted 26 April 2009 Somewhere on the Coast away please! Boro Ipswich at home, so we can all give Roy a nice Leicester welcome Anyone know the date for the opening day? Is it earlier because of the World Cup at the end of the season?
Ultra Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 8th August. The fixture list is announced on 17th June. Further dates can be found here..
Fosse Boy Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Yes please.
FilboFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Doesn't a promoted team usually play a relegated team for the first game of the season? I'm taking a guess at us playing Newcastle as I think they'll finish 18th. EDIT: I'm going with Newcastle at St. James'.
soley118 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Right who does everyone want first day of the season? I actually called it last year saying MK Dons (Although I was saying it was going to be a Stadium:MK). I'm gonna go with Covscum @ Home. Quite alot you see a promoted team get a relegated team so my guess is west brom at the walkers
Koke Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Plymouth away so we can get that long arse trip done and dusted with. Failing that, Blackpool away on a hot sunny August day would be immense.
welck12 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Preston away, or blackpool away. Something nice and close to home will do me
