Best season in a long time, maybe ever, summed up with a cracking 3-0 win to finish.

:celebrate::jump:

The memories of this season will last a long time, i want the Championship season to start now!

The 2-0 start to Mk Dons with a brace for Fryatt set the tone for the season.

Followed by one of the top home performances of the season, a 3-1 win against Tranmere. Both those games have turned out to be great results considering Mk Dons and Tranmere have finished 3rd and 7th respectively.

The disappointment at Fulham when i predicted in live chat we would lose was horrible  but it only took 3 days to bounce back with a 4-0 win at Cheltenham.

Then a shock for all of us >_< a home defeat to Millwall, 1-0, doubts in all our minds there was, over promotion.

But 4 straight wins followed, with late winners coming against Huddersfield from Dyer, and from Fryatt at Leyton Orient, and we were back strong.

Then the sticky patch, 3 straight draws followed by a shock defeat at Brighton from 2-0 up at HT.

But then Bristol Rovers, another home highlight of the season, how the fook did we end up winning that :giggle: Going out of the JPT may have been a blessing in disguise, but there was another knockback at Swindon, drawing 2-2, then a crucial match at Scunny, we ran out 2-1 winners and really started to believe in promotion.

2 easy home wins followed, and then 1-0 down at HT at Carlisle we bounced back :bounce: to win 2-1. Then it was the turn of the Leagues in form team, 15 games unbeaten :dunno: and we were all scared :frusty: easy peasy 4-0 win. A point at Leeds was a good result, some fans were pissed off at the last minute goal though.

2 more easy home wins arrived, against Hereford and Leyton Orient, followed by a decent performance on SKY TV at Yeovil. Then one of the games of the season, end to end stuff and Huddersfield were unlucky to get nothing, defeated 4-2. Then 4 draws in 6 games came, in a sandwich with away wins at Northampton and a 4-1 thumping of Walsall though.

One of the moments of the season for the part-timers :P Gradel freekick 2-2 at Mk Dons, which turned out to be the nail in the coffin for the Dons\'s automatic promotion hopes, they never recovered and fizzled out of the race. The home draws kept coming, then a 4-0 win to Cheltenham steadied the ship. But coming up to the critical game at Millwall we suffered another defeat, 2-0 at 7th place Tranmere. The fans were worried, until a great performance at Millwall and a 1-0 win, virtually sealed promotion in a lot of foxes minds :scarf:

Then a draw at home AGAIN, this time to Colchester, and we were lucky to get that. That was followed by the worst performance of the season @ P\'Boro, another day for the part-timers :P standing up this time, but without Howard and King we were lacklustre. We all thought promotion was done and dusted when Fryatt scored with 2 minutes to go the week after, but something told me Carlisle would equalise and they did. With tough fixtures to finish the season we were concerned.

Then another twist, a penalty after a wreckless challenge by Mattock, Hereford 1-0 up, with high flying Leeds to play on the Monday i was shitting it, but the season was summed up as be battled back to win it comfortably 3-1. Then Super Steve scored a header, in a cracking performance from all the players, and the ref :D, and foxes went mental. An entertaining game on SKY, surely not when Leicester are on, but it was.

Then the final away game for the part timers :P, sunny Southend. And Fryatt with a stunning season bagged a brace to seal our promotion, the celebrations began.

The ultimate part timers were out against Scunny, hundreds if not thousands going to their first game of the season, the best season ever, and they missed it. The childish mocking, chanting began, but it was only a laugh. Some moaned we were standing up, we turned around and said \'where have you been all season, we\'ve been here all season standing!\' We got the trophy though, after an entertaining 2-2, Michael Morrison of all people bagging a brace, but he had improved so much over the season, he deserved it.

Celebrations a tad over the top but we were CHAMPIONS! :scarf:

A 3-0 win today, and already buzzing at the thought of August, next season in the Championship and Newcastle maybe :P

Come on Foxes

An excellent summary.

The only disappointments were the fact we didn't quite reach the 100-point mark and couldn't make more of a challenge in the JPT.

But the stats don't lie. Most goals scored, fewest goals conceded, and only four league defeats in 46 games.

The team have done what they needed to do. Now let's carry the momentum into next season.

you've got to be optimistic as a city fan because with the quality of city if you were slightly pessemistic/realistic you would be about as positive as a dead guy

Psychologically, it was vital that we finished on a high. It gives us the right momentum going into next season.

I hope the same amount of commitment can be given in the Championship.

Thoroughly enjoyed this season. Don't care if it was League One. There were high points and low points just like every team goes through.

Well done to everyone associated with the mighty Foxes!!!

What a brilliant season. There's been so many highs, which is in stark contrast to seasons gone by.

Last minute goals, grinding out wins, back to back wins, thrashings - this season has had everything.

I'm sure all the Leicester fans who live around the Northampton area will have a good time gloating over the next few weeks.

It's been a great season but I'm glad to be out of it and hope we never - ever - go back there again.

My high point of the season was about 17-18 games into the unbeaten run where I think it hit everyone that we were pretty much up and weren't going to be caught and the only issue was whether it'd be as champions or runners up. There was this blissful high where Fryatt was scoring for fun, the Davies loan spell had given us momentum and Steve Howard was starting to become a real force up front.

The low point.....er.....probably the Peterborough away game where we thought the title was edging away from us but that's minor and forgotten, Championship here we come.

On a divisional note, Tranmere must be gutted, two minutes from the play-offs and Franchise amassing 87 points but still not guaranteed promotion the same. If S****horpe get through the play-offs that division will be a nightmare to get out of next season.

Everything about this season has been professional. We've gone about our business in a quiet manner, never been out of the top six, top since Nov 22, only off top once since Nov 11, and scored the most, conceded the fewest and had the best away record.

14 away wins and only 3 defeats on the road was the difference in the end. We finished 7 points ahead of Peterborough, and to think only three weeks ago they had a real chance of winning this division.

I'll remember this season with real fondness, new teams, new grounds, some cracking away days, superb supporters and most importantly, plenty of wins and entertainment.

Agree with all thats been said already... bloody brilliant season but glad to be out of this league. Have a new found respect for some of the clubs weve visited this season.

Have met some lovely people at away games and have some great memories and Ive discovered FT which is a great forum with some wicked people and thankfully missing some hideous people that frequent other forums! lol

Look forward to pre-season friendlies and lots of drinking with some of you again!

This is the greatest football club in the world and Id not want to support any other.

Didn't want to sound unprofessional during the season, after all our attitude and commitment was on the whole first rate, but that division is a heap of sh1t.

Some lovely grounds though :) !

A great season. Simple as that.

And despite being the 3rd tier, the quality of football has been very good.

We now need to take this on into next season and play with the same confidence, application and presence that we have this season. Do that and we shall surprise a few people next season. We shall do well.

My only two criticisms would be not reaching 100 points, which should have happened as we threw points away here, there and everywhere, and the fact that we drew too many at home.

I've loved this fooking season...People annoyed and 'embaressed' about enjoying the season = Football snobs. Realise we are where we are, Fair enough you want the best for your team - So do I, but realise where we are, we are not in the Premiership anymore, we are not in the days of MON anymore...Without saying 'expect less' lower your standards abit FFS, i'll say it again realise where we are...we've just won the league - Enjoy!

it was pathetic to be in this position, think i'll get a season ticket now, didn't bother in league 1, don't want to watch crap like hereford.

Where were you? Where were you? Where were you when we were shit? Where were you when we were shit?

You're no better than a Man Utd & co. fan!

What are you onnabout, I saw the occasional game, didn't want to see the dross we were playing nor the football under Pearson, boring football into Howard everytime, hopefully now in the championship we can play against good quality like reading, Sheff United and Barnsley, all big clubs.

Barnsley? Good quality?

You're joking right?

under Davey, their a decent outfit, in the championship, did you not see that cup run about two years ago?, pretty obvious to see how good they were by from that. Anyway yeah we were big club a while ago, but I don't judge teams on the past.
