AoWW Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Only doing this on Bert's behalf as he's a muppet who can't cope with setting up a poll! Bless 'im, he's not been on the forum long! Basically, his cousin works at the Mercury. And he wants to find out from City fans if they'd text in to the Mercury a 'good luck' message for City, for the new season....
JoeyB Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Why should there be a charge? Add the option of lower charges like nothing 10p 25p etc
Matt Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Yes, and 50p, athough if Standard Text Rate was an option i'd vote that, Does it have to be above Standard Text Rate? My yes means probably.
Dan Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 50p isn't reasonable. Normal text rates should apply for all things.
Bert Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 I think it'd be 50p minimum charge, which is why that's the lowest.
Raj Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Why not just email your thoughts in. Theres normally some cvnt from Evington who does....
Vacamion Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Those money grabbing bastids at the Merc charged me over a ton to put a notice in to announce a relative had died. And they make grieving relatives who want to put a notice in their paper stand in a queue in the foyer in front of people selling wheelbarrows in order to provide personal details with no privacy, to get the message put in. I wouldn't give 'em the steam off my splatters, let alone 10p.

It's the same everywhere these days banks, doctors reception, shops etc there's just no privacy everyone within earshot hears all your personal details.
Father Ted Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 No and I wouldn't send a text in the first place This.
ozleicester Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I said no...but then i felt really sorry for the media barons who are falling on hard times during this evil recession. Im mean c'mon people.. seriously... do you really think this would be anything other than a money spinner for the paper. want to wish them luck?...go to the game and support them.
AyewJoking Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Fooking crap idea and if anything it should be free.
General Smuts Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 On the one hand as a part time media whore, i'd love to see my name in print. On the other hand im a skint student and won't pay a penny.
billyfox1 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Would only send one if it was free. I have wished them good luck by spending over £300 on a season ticket
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Why pay when you can do it here for free.... The Mercury is a big cash cow and rakes no end of cash from me via property advertising and hosting.
Manderic's pants Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 What a provisional money-spinning waste of time...
