Burnley V Sheff Utd Play-off

I do hope Burnley win the play-offs, a proud club one of the founders of the FL, won the top League twice and the FA Cup once.

In my youth they were one of the top teams playing glorious football with some talented players like Jimmy McIlroy and Jimmy Adamson something in the modern game they can only dream of.

An unpretentious club that was considered big in the past but narrowly escaped relegation to the Conference as recently as 1987.

Fair enough they've not provided much in the way of entertainment over this last decade, in fact the recent away games there have been some of the worst I've witnessed but then we as much to blame for that as them.

To have turned that final day of 1987 around and be on the brink of promotion to the Premier League is a fantastic achievement that those fans of 1987 would never have foreseen.

I wish them all the best.

To be honest I don't care about this game either way....usually there's a team that I want to fail miserably but on this occasion I think I'll have a BBQ instead

BUT...if I was to pull my finger out I would say Burnley because Sheff Utd used to be managed by Neil Warnock - pathetic reason but it's the only one I can think of...

It would be horrible to see that thug Chris Morgan lift the play-off trophy, so I want Burnley to do it.

Yeah I wish Burnley all the best. No more 1-0 defeats home & away to them.

Would prefer Burnley to win even if it means no Turf Moor next season.

I was looking for a reason to want either team to win/lose and I think I just found it.

C'mon Burnley!

I hope it's as good as yesterdays playoff game.

Doubt it though can't see it being as open or the either team being as poor defensively as yesterday.

C'mon Burnley.

I expect some punch ups and at least one red card, hopefully Morgan.

No great preference for me. Like DavieG, I've a soft spot for Burnley due to watching the wonderful they had in the days of McIlroy when fixtures against Leicester often seemed to involve a glut of goals and incident.

However with my grandfather on my mother's side being Sheffield born and bred I cannot say I'd be sorry if Sheffield United won although I was looking forward to a further trip to the real ale pub we visited there a couple of season's back - if not a repeat performance on the pitch!
