Uncle Albert Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Duff has said he is commited to staying with Newcastle, I wonder how many more will. Steve Harper will certainly be there and I think Steven Taylor will aswell. Not sure about Alan Smith. Martins will be off but if not he will awesome in The Championship so would Nolan, Barton, Beye and Bassong. Newcastle need to get rid of this Messiah attitude that they have and get a solid manager, like we have got in Pearson. I think Strachan would be a good manager for Newcastle, he wouldnt take any shit off the board, players or the Toon Army. If they can spend wisely on players who are grafters and want to be playing for Newcastle then I think they will be a big force in the Championship.
Koke Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Duff only want to stay because there is no other club willing to pay 70k a week for his shit services. So he would rather play second tier football on his big wages rather than play first team Premiership football for 20k a week at Stoke.
Bert Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Some of you just don't get it (I'll have to send round some Red Star Ultra's to beat some sense into you).It is not Ashley or Shearer that runs this comedy club - it's these clowns: You're boring already.
Jon the Hat Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Middlesbrough got a good and effective youth academy that have produced several good players. On top of my head. Stewart Downing Lee Cattermole [now at Wigan] David Wheater Adam Johnson Tony McMahon James Morrison [now at WBA] Matthew Bates Apart from maybe West Ham, I don't any other academy in the country that has produced this amount of good players in recent times. And for that reason, I think they are better off than Newcastle who have a team full of big time charlies on massive wages. Doesn't make a team though does it? I think they will struggle.
Darkzzz_ Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 I think Downing is so over rated. I personally don't think he is fit enough to swallow Steve Guppy's ass gas.
Maybes Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 People saying Newcastle will walk the Championship....personally I dont think they will. They have been awful this season along with many other bad teams in the premiership. They will be in the top half, but they have got a lot of deadwood to ship out.
welck12 Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 I think Downing is so over rated. I personally don't think he is fit enough to swallow Steve Guppy's ass gas. He only gets into the england squad because he's left footed, plain and simple
Darkzzz_ Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 He only gets into the england squad because he's left footed, plain and simple Stuart Ripley was the greatest winger Boro had.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 I think Downing is so over rated. I personally don't think he is fit enough to swallow Steve Guppy's ass gas. He used to be a great young player with loads of potential but hasnt really improved imo.
Alexikokopops Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 He looks like the troll out of the first Harry Potter film. Duff only want to stay because there is no other club willing to pay 70k a week for his shit services. So he would rather play second tier football on his big wages rather than play first team Premiership football for 20k a week at Stoke. Exactly
lavrentis Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Loyal my arse. I'm sure he'd rather stay and get 60k a week for his troubles rather than getting 20k a week with Stoke. This.
TrickyTrev Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Ameobi would be lethal.Carroll and Ameobi should be their forwards next year. Sholah had six games on loan at Stoke last year and didn't score a goal. Andy Carroll had 11 games at Preston and scored 1 goal, he is also not a footballer just a very tall man. Bad players don't become good players just because they got relegated. Can someone say what is good about Steven Taylor? When I see him he has no touch, can't pass and his defending consists on running to the goal line and hoping for a goal line clearance.
Edmund Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Mike Ashley arrives at training ground via helicopter. I know he's doing it for his safety but money still can't be to much of an issue if your traveling by chopper.
Edmund Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Are newcastle fans leeds fans in disguise. From a Newcastle forum. Maybe the FA will step in more when clubs are being misrun? you all have to admit that us going down is a huge step back for the premier league. There's going to be games of Burnley v Hull next season in the EPL and Newcastle v S****horpe in the CCC!
Kilworthfox Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Are newcastle fans leeds fans in disguise. From a Newcastle forum. Brilliant Waccoe has now been replaced by what Geordie equivalent now?
Tilley Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Brilliant Waccoe has now been replaced by what Geordie equivalent now? Boooooooooooooooooooorrrriiiing isn't it. Got this from now 'til next May.
Edmund Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Boooooooooooooooooooorrrriiiing isn't it.Got this from now 'til next May. So boring you had to read it and post in it.
Ultra Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 They will win the Championship with their eyes closed. Ashley will appoint Shearer as permanent manager this week, and they will have a mass clear out of playing and non playing staff. They are going to be able to attract the best players in the championship, plus some Prem drops outs and some high quality loan players. They are us last season. Leeds this season would be a better analogy. Even if they manage to offload their expensive deadwood, Shearer and Dowie won't have the eye for talent that Pearson and his team do. How will they react when Newcastle lose a couple of "cup finals" at Deepdale or Glanford Park and sections of the toon army start getting restless? It could all go pear-shaped for them.
Radovan's Caravan Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 You're boring already. You don't feel like that because your belly and tits are even bigger?
Matt Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 I've only just switched SSN on so only got about half a story but apparently a consortium IS interested in buying Newcastle United.

How will they react when Newcastle lose a couple of "cup finals" at Deepdale or Glanford Park and sections of the toon army start getting restless? It could all go pear-shaped for them. Shearer will have a completely different team next season. He will have no problem attracting players. And if a few big names stay who wouldn't want to play alongside Duff or Butt?
Radovan's Caravan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Leeds this season would be a better analogy.Even if they manage to offload their expensive deadwood, Shearer and Dowie won't have the eye for talent that Pearson and his team do. How will they react when Newcastle lose a couple of "cup finals" at Deepdale or Glanford Park and sections of the toon army start getting restless? It could all go pear-shaped for them. 'The Toon Army' is largely an instrument of the previous regime at Newcastel United. The situation prevailing on Tyneside is one that is instantly recogniseable to European football fans - mob rule. Mike Ashley's main mistake since taking over at St James' Park has been populism - giving into the mentally retarded xenophobic hordes. Unlike 'Arkan', Ashley pumped in at least £100 million of hs own money into his club and didn't use its overdraft as a personal bank account. And unlike 'Arkan' he had to contend with 'old boys' like John Hall and Freddie Shepherd who refused to let go of their train set. Much of the garbage you hear about Ashely can be traced back to them (and another football club chairman who operated a football shirt cartel broken up by Ashley). Ashley's main problems are that he is green (eg appointing Wise as 'Technical Director - but who advised him to do that?), impulsive (eg going long on HBOS) and a bit of a soft touch (the appointment of skulking schemer Shearer). Whilst Ashley bears some of the responsibility for Newcastle's relegation it is the club's old guard and its moronic followers who are the chief culprits. Hardly surprising then that they would opt for a grossly over-rated veteran (Shearer was dropped by Ruud Gullitt because of his 'low technical ability') to maintain Premiership status. And Newcastle lost the very battle that management stats state they should have won - the so called 'dead cat bounce' effect. But they lost it partly because of Shearer's English selection policy (supported by many contributors here) and partly because of Mr Dowie's silly diagrams (a trick that Pep Guardiola has yet to learn). I think very follower of 'Arkan's' Heroes should pray that Shearer remains in charge at St James' Park next season (interesting to see whether this 'local hero' would work for the going rate in The Championship if Ashley decided to perservere with him).
lcfc_jme Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Owen is gash. And all of this "well he could do it if he was fully fit and at a top team getting good service" nonsense.. Errr, most decent strikers would surely be able to score goals if they were fully fit, playing for a good side and getting good service, non?

Errr, most decent strikers would surely be able to score goals if they were fully fit, playing for a good side and getting good service, non? well in a year that massive goals totals in the premier league have not happened even at the champions Man Utd Berbatov only scored 9 league goals and Rooney 12 so looking at that 8 goals in an injury hit season playing for an terrible team isn't that bad a return really
