MC Prussian Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 How do you know we're interested in him just because he's cheap? We didn't buy any other players on the cheap from CSKA last summer, just Tunchev because he was deemed good enough to play for the team Anyway, my main point was how is he like Kaebi? If you're saying it's because it sounds like a Mandaric signing of a foreign national then my next point was "well that means Tunchev is the same and that worked out ok" I wasn't clear enough, I guess. Playing for a Bulgarian club=low transfer fee (as of today). Scouted by Pearson's staff=must be good. A Bulgarian youth international scouted by Steve Walsh et al.= Cheap and reasonably skilled. Allegedly. And as for Tunchev, might I remind you of the scepticism he faced before he joined us? http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...51649&st=20 My other point still stands, though - both Tunchev and Saidhodzha are both unproven on Championship level. And we could've gotten just lucky with Tunchev in 2008, imagine...

Dan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 So the mercury are now using football rumors. Knew it all along
philayres200 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 For all those whinging, complaining types, who always seem to fear the worst and will be happy if we manage to survive next season - those same people who seem to think that players brought in by NP will be as bad as those brought in by Mad Dog, get over it. Kaebi came through Allen. Tunchev was brought in by Pearson. Tunchev is class. He was CSKA Sofia's captain. He is a full International and probably the best central defender outside the Prem. Championship strikers will be easy for him - no problem. Steve Walsh, our chief scout was at Chelsea doing the same job there for years, under various managers, including Mourinho. He was involved in Chelsea acquiring players such as Drogba and the one whom many football fans say was the best overseas player ever to play for an English club, the current West Ham manager, Gianfranco Zola. Now, with those credentials as a scout, someone tell me why they think that Dormushali Saidhodzha ( Muscho, to his friends ) will not be an excellant addition to our squad. PS I can remember Alexander Tunchev being rumoured on sites for weeks before he joined us as well. Premiership make space for the Blue Army - we're on our way up!

Premiership make space for the Blue Army - we're on our way up! true but surely bargain spotting and talent spotting is a totally different to saying that a player like Zola a full international and highly respected player or Drogba who was playing a blinder for Marsellie in the league and UEFA cup surely that's a pretty easy job isn't it? you don't really have to scout players like them You mention Chelsea but wasn't his previous job head of scouting at Newcastle? well look at some of the rubbish they have signe in the last 5-6 years I am not saying I think they are doing a rubbish job infact it's exactly the opposite we have signed some excellent players you just can't use the signing or international and well known footballers as an a example of how good a scout he is!! I can tell you Frank Ribery or Wayne Rooney are great players you don't need to have good skills as a scout to work that one out

Pretty could business I think. Definitely increased in value anyway. Also, who says Walsh did not suggest players of calbre at Newcastle that theit idiot managers turned down. Name a few that he brought over to Newcastle. We know he was involved with the scouting for Drogba and Zola, fact!
lcfc81 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Hope its true, we could do with a cheap back-up for Howard. Think we might be found out a bit if Howard got injured as we looked terrible without him on a number of occasions without him this season. (Scunny aside).

Zola was playing in a Parma team with the likes of Tomas Brolin, Hristo Stoichkov, Fabio Cannavaro, Faustino Asprilla, Dino Baggio, Hernán Crespo, Enrico Chiesa, and Diego Fuser just before he went to Chelsea And Drogba was being whored around to every major European club before he went to Chelsea

We know he was involved with the scouting for Drogba and Zola, fact! actually that isn't correct is it? he was playing for Parma who won the UEFA cup and Italian cup in 95 and finished runners up in Serie A and then signed for Chelsea in 96 hardly playing for an unknown club. Chelsea paid £23.8million for Drogba hardly an unknown player was one of the most wanted players in Europe at the time Scouting 2 players who both appeared the later stages of high level European competition is not an example of someone brilliance as scout was he also responsible for signing Winston Bogarde one of the worst players ever to grace the Premier League and at a guess in most Chelsea fans eyes the biggest waste of money in the history of Chelsea fc, Cairaghi who only scored a single and was classed as a total failure?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Sounds like on of my foreign suggestions, this can only be a good thing.
martyn Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Don't even remember his spell at Randers in 2007, but it probably says a bit if he couldn't even get into their side... It says absolutely nothing. There is currently a rather special player in the Bundesliga who scored 5 goals in 40 games for FK Željezničar between 2003-2005. Players can improve drastically over the course of seasons....it happens.

GLC Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 There's plenty of players that seem to get better potential-wise further on in their careers.Jon Walters for example. Started off at Bolton, was released and went to Hull i think, was released and then went to Bury and now he is one of Ipswich's best players. SWP was released from Forest before going to Man City Wright-Phillips was released by Nottingham Forest at the age of 15 and Manchester City took him to Maine Road.
DanTheFox07 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Hope this is true and glad we are looking at players from europe, we need to tout the foreign transfer market more than we have done in the past, good british players often prove to be more expensive, yes foreign players are more of a gamble as you don`t know how they will adapt to english style of football, but this guy is a good age and perhaps Tunchev has tipped leicester off about him who know`s?
Finnegan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 He's got a silly squad number. This screams "glamour." Sign him up. Can't be any worse than that "Sappletizer."
Alexikokopops Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I want to sign him just for the name. I don't care how good he is, the name is worth it alone.
Finnegan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I hope he demands his old squad number. "SAIDHODZHA 99" I will buy that shirt. All £249324823 worth of printing.
MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I hope he demands his old squad number."SAIDHODZHA 99" I will buy that shirt. All £249324823 worth of printing. Alternatively, you could also simply go for "M U S H A". £25.99.
Babylon Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Alternatively, you could also simply go for "M U S H A".£25.99. COCK 1 is even cheaper.
flanimal Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I'm certain that this Bulgarian will not sign for Leicester. If he did, it would mean football rumours is correct, and that can only mean the end of the universe.
Tilley Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 That name is pretty impressive, who cares about his footballing skills?
