Meanwhile City are said to be planning a bid for Bulgarian Dormushali Saidhodzha. The 22 year old striker, known as Muscho, currently plays for CSKA Sofia

Good backup for Howard! Pearson has my trust because he hasn't let me down so far and Steve Walsh (scout) for that matter, at the end of the day he identifies most of our signings.

Is it not true then Babylon?

I have no idea... but the following appeared on football rumours on the 19-05-2009.

"Leicester City are said to be planning a bid for Bulgarian Dormushali Saidhodzha. The 22–year–old striker, known as Muscho, currently plays for CSKA Sofia, the same club Leicester signed Aleksander Tunchev from during last year's pre–season.

Leicester chief scout Steve Walsh is said to have been seen in Bulgaria a month ago. Saidhodzha, who has scored 13 goals already this season, is well known in the Bulgarian league for his strength and aerial ability, and he could be lined up as a possible replacement for 33–year–old Steve Howard.

CSKA Sofia is currently still in financial problems, and therefore cannot play in The Champions League or any other European tournaments. Saidhodzha is unsatified with the lack of opportunity in Bulgaria, and desires a move to England, and with Tunchev already a cult hero among Leicester fans, this could be a deciding factor in bringing him to the Walkers Stadium in the next few weeks".

So the mercury have been reading football rumours... or someone posted something on their that was true.

LCFC Quote according to the first post.

Seems vaguely familiar phrasing. :unsure::D

Don't you remember our last signing from CSKA?

Yes, I do. Totally. No question there. Tunchev was quality in the first half of the 2008/09 campaign - whether he'll be back to his old self, facing Championship strikers next season is a different question, altogether.

But buying foreign players just as a First Aid measure because their current club's in desperate need for money shouldn't play a reason in this business (I know that Bulgaria probably offers the best "bang for your buck" ).

All in all, want to go for quality.

Although, there's a quality short clip of Saidhozha on YouTube:

If he's that rated by scouts, then I shall brush my scepticism aside. Of course, Pearson and staff have done nothing short of magic with their past signings, but we shall remain cautious.

Sorry to come across as being overly negative here, but I'm still suffering from our "world-class signings" lol from the previous seasons and all that praise they got before even touching an inch of English soil...

I am a huge fan of the Tunch bu to say that he is a cult hero is probably abit over the top.

Don't even remember his spell at Randers in 2007, but it probably says a bit if he couldn't even get into their side...

There's plenty of players that seem to get better potential-wise further on in their careers.

Jon Walters for example. Started off at Bolton, was released and went to Hull i think, was released and then went to Bury and now he is one of Ipswich's best players.

Keegan got released by utd as a kid, sometimes it might not be potential just the coaches/managers not seeing the best in the player for whatever reason

EDIT - I agree its probarly just some lazy journo using football rumours for research

How do you know we're interested in him just because he's cheap? We didn't buy any other players on the cheap from CSKA last summer, just Tunchev because he was deemed good enough to play for the team :dunno:

Anyway, my main point was how is he like Kaebi? If you're saying it's because it sounds like a Mandaric signing of a foreign national then my next point was "well that means Tunchev is the same and that worked out ok"

Cheers Babylon.

Our Bulgarian friend did say that the media over there were reporting Walsh was over there watching a few of their players, not sure if he was one of them though.
