dandannieldanok Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Martin?Bunn? Can't comment on Bunn, never saw him play. I thought Martin was ok but made some strange decisions (Walsall at home springs to mind) and just failed to convince me.
RowlattsFox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 This and then sign Stockdale on loan and that will be pretty solid I reckon, he seems to be rated by fans of previous clubs but is very injury prone, lets hope he gets over that here.
Alexikokopops Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Fingers crossed he's the Weale deal. Right, that's it
Pricey Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Can't say I'm that excited by this signing, but i suppose if we get another more recognisable keeper in he could be a decent squad player! Weale have to wait and see.
jimmer Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Right, that's it Its Wealey getting out of hand now...... someone wealey needs to put a stop to it
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Do we still have a goalkeeping coach? Someone to be steering Weale in the right direction.
Smudge Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 If you're going to make a pun on his name at least come up with something more imaginative than replacing "real" or "really". I think its been done to death already. We all yeild
gazzer Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 This story's got us partially onto the Championship page on the BBC site too... Nearly there
Tilley Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I know zero about him so will reserve judgement until I've seen him play.. still expect a 'number 1' to sign though.
MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Does sound like Weale's going to be the back-up keeper, but I expect a little bit more competition between the two first-team goalies. Most importantly, we need the two of them on multi-year contracts, as this constant loaning system's really done my head in with the seven we've had in League One. Makes me wonder whom the other one will be... I'm going for Stockdale. And Alex, bloody hell - lighten up, you miserable git!!!

maddog Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 He's bound to be 1st choice or he wouldn't have joined and we wouldn't have signed him. He will be better than all our loanee keepers.
Koke Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 He's a wee bit too injury prone they reckon. But other than that he's a solid Championship keeper, who makes the odd mistake. I quite fancied Stockdale though - I hope we get him in as well.
blueblood Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Haven't got a clue about this chap, but in NP we trust. However, lets' sign Stockdale on a season long for some competition. If Weale's better than him, then its' a bloody fantastic signing...
bristolcityfan Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Hello, Bristol City fan here. I saw some of you saying you don't know much about Weale. He is a brilliant keeper. Arrived to us with a cruciate and then has had wrist and thumb problems which has stopped him a little. However he is a quality keeper. Excellent and coming and claiming the ball and has a big kick on him. He will be a good signing for you especially as its on a free. p.s. we sent him on loan to yeovil at the end of last season and he scored a goal which earnt them a point and kept them up.

Good, i expect Sotckdale to come in aswell on a season long loan so at least we have that position sorted. Another Right back and we look faily solid at the back, just hope a quality creative midfielder and a decent centre forward come in soon! Add the lincoln winger/striker to the mix and i think that will be it for the squad.

Munzie Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Having spoken to a Bristol based mate, Weale was a player that never really (avoiding the name jokes) got a decent chance to impress. He arrived with a long term injury and only got the occasional start. Like most players that don't get regular first team action, his limited appearances were greeted with mixed reactions. Some seem to think he is injury prone. He was expected to be pushing Basso for the number 1 shirt next season had he stayed. Some fans feel that he would be a better bet than Basso currently. If he stays fit, this could be a good signing.
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Excellent and coming and claiming the ball and has a big cock on him.
