lcfc89 Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 ha ha ha . . just got told that city were signing two players before they brought back one of the loan keepers on a perm. one of which would have been weale he wouldnt say names. HATE ME NOW!
Thracian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 At 27 he's almost at the point of being Wealed out and you do wonder why he's not established himself as first choice at Bristol City in the last three sesons. But 27 is usually a goodish age for a goalkeeper and he ought to be motivated because I'd imagine Leicester City represents his last big chance to make it at a decent level. I look forward to seeing him play and wish the bloke good luck.

MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 The keeper will be Tony Warner. That's so footballrumours.
mmarkie Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 That's so footballrumours. Not really mate, just what knowitall said
SamL Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Not really mate, just what knowitall said Knowitall also stated that we'd be re-signing Stockdale.
mmarkie Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Knowitall also stated that we'd be re-signing Stockdale. Not on a permanent though This guy says a permanent move;).
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I'd be happy with Warner. This Weale chap sounds ok to me too. However, the fact that he's no. 2 at Bristol unsettles me a little. Should we be taking no 2's from a little club like Bristol?

hesapeepingtom Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 he was number 3 at bristol does that make it any worse?
Koke Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 he was number 3 at bristol does that make it any worse? He was actually number 2, and that was because Basso played out of this world when Bristol got promoted. Their number 3 is some rookie keeper.
turkish14 Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Well we are keeping Hendo also so I'm not sure necessarily if we will sign Stockdale as well (even on loan), methinks they may chance it and spend the money up front....... keeping those extra wages for transfer fees? Tumbleweed blowing in the wind.....
Bryn Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I would bet considerable money that this man will be the number one. I'd put a decent amount on him being a damn good keeper as well.
renards Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 tild a month a go by birch that he had joined, merc that slow?
StanSP Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 tild a month a go by birch that he had joined, merc that slow? YOu sure it wasn't just a rumour back then? The signing was only confirmed this week I think.
Red Leicester Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 tild a month a go by birch that he had joined, merc that slow? Is the Birch that slow? Mandaric phoned me three and a half months ago, in the middle of the night.
Munzie Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Just a thought...this is a free transfer, I'm assuming we paid bugger all for Neilson and Brown as well. Aside from Hobbs (which was a prearranged target for us and a steal, a deal, the sale of the fcuking century), we've parted with little or no cash. Are our transfer targets restricted to freebies or are we waiting to cash in on DJ Campbell to spend some more of uncle Milan's pocket money? I appreciate it's early days in the summer sales but I would have thought that splashing the cash would come before looking at released players in order to secure priority targets wanted by others.

I guess when the clubs PR says at a Q+A "we signed a keeper today, Wheale from Bristol, he was beeen shown around the training ground" does suggest it was just a romour

And I think you might be reading into that a bit too much. Milan said a couple months back Nigel will have money to spend. I think it's good that we're getting the frees this early. Stops the players being poached by bigger clubs where they won't get played as much. And Nigel is probably just waiting for the right player to sign up with the money he has. I guess when the clubs PR says at a Q+A "we signed a keeper today, Wheale from Bristol, he was beeen shown around the training ground" does suggest it was just a romour Alrigh mate chill out.
Shrenchel Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 I would bet considerable money that this man will be the number one.I'd put a decent amount on him being a damn good keeper as well. Yeah he will be number one. I've seen him quoted in the Evening Post a few times saying the reason he wants to leave is to get first team football. He's turned down loans at Premier League clubs before because he wants first team football not to warm the bench. For me there's no way he would have come here without Pearson reassuring him he will start the season as first choice. Personally I think he's gunna be fooking cracking but we will see.
A fox for life Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Ha Ha didn't realise he scored a goal! sounds mental
flanimal Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 One thing about Weale that doesn't fill me with excitement is that Yeovil finished 17th last season, and conceded 66 goals. I know Weale wasn't in goal for all of those, but how much of that crappy goal difference is down to the keeper or the back four?
