Dames Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Bit disappointed by Kisnorbo but other than that its looking alright.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Patrick-...il/article.html Patrick Kisnorbo is the big-name casualty among the five senior players released by Leicester City today. The out-of-contract Australia international ends a four-year spell at the Walkers Stadium, which culminated in a player- of-the-year award in 2007. Also leaving are fellow Aussie Paul Henderson along with veterans Barry Hayles, Bruno N'Gotty and Marc Edworthy. But it is 28-year-old Kisnorbo's departure which will reverberate most among members of the Blue Army. Signed in July 2005, the former skipper failed to convince in midfield. But he switched to centre-back and missed only six Championship games of the 2006-07 campaign. But, as City were relegated to League One in 2008, Kisnorbo was ruled out for five months with cruciate damage to his left knee before returning only to damage his right knee. He did indicate back in March that he would like to see out the rest of his career – but now he is weighing up his options. Last week, Kisnorbo was linked with a move to Crystal Palace and, in the past, has attracted attention from Birmingham and Ipswich. Henderson is the other surprise inclusion on City's retained list. The 33-year-old keeper started the League One campaign but soon lost his place to on-loan Liverpool man David Martin. He then competed with Martin for the jersey before suffering a groin injury in the 2-1 victory at S****horpe on November 22 and missed the rest of the campaign. The other senior players also released – Hayles, N'Gotty and Edworthy – are all on the wrong side of 35 with striker Hayles linked last week with a switch to League One Walsall. Hayles, now 37, has been restricted to 10 starts and two goals and had two spells on loan at Cheltenham with ex-City boss Martin Allen. Former Birmingham defender N'Gotty, also 37, made 34 starts for City before being loaned out to Hereford where he suffered a career-threatening Achilles injury. Full-back Edworthy, 36, was brought in last November and made eight starts. So from that is Henderson actually retained or released. Stupid Mercury bastards!!
Lillehamring Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 is that a new layout for the mercury, haven't seen all those profile pages before... it's *gasp* quite good
Fox92 Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 To be honest I am not dissapointed. Probabley Kisnorbo is my favourite on there but now we have Hobbs, Tunchev, Morrison and Brown so the only way is up!

Jonezy Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Shame our 'promising' youngsters apparently are not promising enough. Some high earners gone there though; tough on Kisnorbo, but he has already been replaced.
SamL Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 when did hayles score? I think the stats probably include last season as well.
General Smuts Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Does that mean new contract offer for Powell?? Didn't hear Sappleton mentioned either... Glad to see my campaigning paid off ... as soon as i change my sig. YES CHRISSY P!!!!
Cropwellfox Posted 29 May 2009 Author Posted 29 May 2009 Losing N'Gotty, Kissa and Hayles makes me hopeful that there will be much bigger and better acquisitions to come - must be £2mill off the wage bill with those 3 gone alone.
Bluefoxtim Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Bye Barry Forever a legend. Even though you were completely sh*t, you were always brilliant at the same time. You also pocketed me at least £25 when you scored the goal for us to beat Coventry 2-0. Will also remember you changing the game against Barnsley at Oakwell, effectively kept us safe that year. 'Barrington Edward Hayles' :city: That's his real name as well, brilliant. #BARRY, BARRY, BARRY#
Bluefoxtim Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 when did hayles score? <_< Didn't get a real chance this year. He would have scored more than Fryatt.

Hitesh Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 As expected really! Nice to see the OS is being informing as ever!
dandannieldanok Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Good decision imo, getting rid of that lot must have cut the wage bill and average age of the squad dramatically. Good luck to all of them but especially Kisnorbo and Henderson who have been very good servants to the club.
Tilley Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 That's a big chunk of the wagebill gone. Yep. Kissy & N'Gotty would have been on a few quid. Thank the lord it's official, Barry fucking Hayles has gone. Just add Dickov to the list and I'd be happy. If only.

Good luck Barry.
Sir Fynwy Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Glad to see my campaigning paid off ... as soon as i change my sig.YES CHRISSY P!!!! Powell will probably retire from playing so doesn't need to be released
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I for one always rated Hayles as a player who could come off the bench and help change things. I wil always remember away to Millwall he came on as left winger and took it round two or three blokes over and over again just by shoving out the way! Oh Barry Hayles, Is Bigger than this!
