What we need are good players at this level, and imo Carter is a good player at this level. I think he's a better footballer than Oakley personally, and of course he's younger.

If you rate him that much why is 750k too expensive but well in our budget but u would't pay that much? why was he not given a chance at Brum and WBA? More questions about his ability than answers. Wellens is the boy.

If he's down the pecking order at Preston, we should be staying well clear of this imo. I've said it before, if you're willing to put 750k down on a Preston reserve player then cough up another 500k and bring in somebody who has more quality on the ball. We need a few million pound+ players in the squad to mix it up a bit. The central midfield position that needs filling is absolutely critical to our success next season. We need another Garry Parker from somewhere.

I'd much rather Pearson spent wisely (which I don't doubt he will) than throw away stupid money for the sake of it.
