teblin Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Dany-N-G...il/article.html Dany N'Guessan has finally completed his move to Leicester City. After tracking him since the end of the season, City have signed the 21-year-old French winger on a three-year deal from Lincoln City. Compensation has still to be settled, because the player is under 24. Lincoln were reported to want £400,000, but a figure is currently being negotiated and City are confident N'Guessan will start pre-season training with them on Wednesday. City boss Nigel Pearson, who this summer has already secured defenders Jack Hobbs and Wayne Brown on permanent deals, and signed Robbie Neilson and Chris Weale, was delighted with his latest capture. He said: "Dany is an extremely exciting prospect. He impressed us during our home game against Lincoln in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season and is a versatile and talented player. "We are certain that the addition of Dany will heighten competition for places and he has the potential to improve. "He is an attacking player by nature, can play on the left, right or up front, or even just behind the strikers." N'Guessan rejected a new deal with Lincoln at the end of the season, and sources at the League One club suggested that, since then, his mind was set on joining Leicester. Two weeks ago in the Leicester Mercury, it was revealed that he had accepted personal terms at City. N'Guessan was a product of the Auxerre youth academy before joining Scottish giants Rangers on a two-year contract in the summer of 2005. He failed to make a first-team start at Ibrox, although he made the bench on a handful of occasions. N'Guessan was eventually loaned to non-league Boston United, where he came to the attention of Lincoln, and was snapped up on a free transfer in January 2007. At Sincil Bank, he made 75 league and cup appearances, scoring 17 goals. The matter of compensation is seen as crucial by Lincoln because Rangers have a 33 per-cent sell-on clause. Chairman Stef Wright believes they should be entitled to around the same £400,000 fee that City paid Liverpool for Jack Hobbs, although he has conceded that a tribunal will more than likely fix a lower amount.
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Alright, good move so let's have a massive 24+ pages on N'Guessan because there won't be any more signings to come.
Matt Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Is that it? 1 more signing, bloody hell, I'm getting worried, we're cutting it fine making signings!
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 No news on the OS yet. Why does that not surprise me?
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 I know it says he plays left or right, but which is his usual side? I'm hoping left because we had no-one to really give Lloyd the kick up the behind when his form dipped.

Fox in a Box Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 OS Leicester City have signed French winger Dany N'Guessan from Lincoln City on a three-year deal. This takes Nigel Pearson's summer signings to five following the capture of Wayne Brown, Jack Hobbs, Robbie Nielson from Hearts and Chris Weale from Bristol City and the Foxes boss is delighted to have landed the player. He said "Dany is an extremely exciting prospect. He impressed us during our home game against Lincoln in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season as he is a versatile and talented player. "We are certain that the addition of Dany will heighten competition for places and with his potential to improve he has a bright future in the game." A product of the famous AJ Auxerre youth academy, he joined Rangers on two-year contract in July 2005 then landed up at Lincoln City on 23 January 2007 where his impressive form attracted a lot of attention. He is about to be out of contract and as the player is under 24, there is the matter of compensation to the Imps and this is currently being negotiated but the Frenchman will be part of the Coca-Cola Championship squad who report back for pre-season training next week.

richardsfoxes Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Good news, i have a question though. If we do sign Wellens and Carter, what are we going to do with Andy King and Oakley... Hopefully Leeroy Lita will be the striker we bring in!
