Mr Happy Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Lets play a game of guess Rowleys age ....Im going for 13... The joys of pre-season boredom, great isn't it?
Arthur Rowley Posted 28 June 2009 Author Posted 28 June 2009 Matt Elliott, Neil Lennon and Robbie Savage? Were all playing at league 1 level when he signed them?Cult Heroes like Steve walsh and Iwan Roberts came from those levels too. Short short memories some city fans have. This can't be a serious thread. That was then this is now, Savage was useless just run around all day like a chook with it's head chopped of collecting yellow cards and giving away penalty's. Matt was a decent player, the other bloke was only average. We also need a good goalie, not a third div bench warmer.
AjcW Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 :crylaugh: Are you the man with the foul mouth? I recall your comment on my thread .I see it has been taken of. It will not be long before you shoot yourself in the foot again and get dumped for good. Up the City (if only they could) But seriously we need to start signing a big name or two for up front. Id much rather shoot you in the foot...
Tommeh Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 And this is why The LCFC forum and Transfer Talk are completely no go areas from May - August. Silly Dildo's.
Pookie Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Surely these threads are a wind-up! Below is what I think our 23 man first team squad is looking like already and I put positions where I think we will strengthen before the start of the season. The players in brackets are ones we have been strongly linked with, these are not my opinions on who I think we should sign. Gk - New Signing (Stockdale) Gk - Weale RB - Robbie Nelson RB - New Signing (Gilbert) CB _ Tunchev CB - Hobbs CB - Brown CB - Morrison LB - Mattock LB/M - Berner Wing - Dyer Wing - Gradel Wing - N'Guesson M - Oakley M - King M - Clemance? M - New Signing (Wellens) F - Fryatt F - Howard F - Dickov F - New Signing (Cox) 2 Loan signings (Cleverley + Midfielder or Striker) As you can see, I have put a question mark on Clemence, I dont know of his fitness, but if fit then I feel he would be part of the squad. I have excluded DJ Campbell from the equation. Now given that pre-season training hasnt even started yet, I personally think our first team squad is shaping up very nicely. Yes we need to strengthen in key areas and I think the players that have been linked to and revealed in the press (Wellens & CoX) highlights to me that management have the same thoughts as all of us. Even without any further signings (we all know that isnt going to happen) our squad certainly isnt relegation fodder! If the above were all signed, plus Cleverley and another young player from any of the big 4 clubs (striker or midfield) to me would be a satisfactory summer transfer activity. Too many supporters cant look beyond what has happened the during the 4 poor season that resulted in relegation. We're a totally different football club now. Well I am extremely hopeful and well up for next season and I going to nail my colours to the mast by saying we will make the play-offs. So When we're walking down Wembley Way once again on May 22nd next year, you will know that Pookie was right!
Gaffer Posted 28 June 2009 Posted 28 June 2009 Stop confusing him with facts. Lets play a game of guess Rowleys age ....Im going for 13... pushing 12 mate... I agree 100% with your comment. Just wait until the season kicks of and big Steve and Fryatt can't penetrate defences like they used to in the 3rd division. FFS get stuck in Pearson and get a top end striker. We need someone like a young Kevin Phillips. I read Martin O'Neil got bargain players. That may be the case but he didn't drag them out of Divisions 3 or 4. Any way you cannot compare Pearson to the great Martin O'Neil. Pearson has to have a lot more wins under his coaching belt before he is in the same class as O'Neil. As has been mentioned on another thread, his move to Dundee U has been scuppered by Setanta going bust and the consequent lack of money in the SPL. He has apparently said he wants to stay with us, and would be useful backup to Oakley and King.

Neil Lennon was the best at the Makelele role before everyone was wanking over Makelele, its no coincidence that our midfield went to shit after he left. Without Lennon doing the holding role and Savage doing the hard yards Muzzy Izzet would not be a cult hero to Leicester fans as he wouldn't of been able to play to anywhere near the performance level he did, in fact pricks like you would of been calling him useless and screaming for us to get rid.
welck12 Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I'm that bored at work i have just ventured into this thread knowing full well it'd be a pile of w*nk and read every single comment, and i was proven right
haraven Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Not stressed at all... the last few years there has been like a bad Amusement Park in the transfermarket for Leicester. People have gone crazy at the slot machines and come home with teddy-bears, ducks, clowns and a picture of elvira. It got us down to Division 1. This time around the staff seem to make sure that each character fits into the plans, and they go for quality instead of quantity. It's a few weeks til we're in August still
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I can't help but notice the lack of the answer NO. We won't.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I'd just like to ask... are up and down the only options?
AjcW Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Breaking News... BBBB Breaking News....(I listen to too much chris moyles ) We are sinking, as weve just announced the signing of a swedish nancy boy.....(btw not my actual opinion i think its a great signing) Seriously this threads still open, cant wait till lisa gets back from holiday and slams it shut.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Please tell me what's so bad about our signings?Hobbs - Up and Coming young centre back has the potential to play in the prem Brown - proven to be very good at this level Neilson - captained a good Hearts side. Weale - He seems to have impressed everywhere he's gone.A lot of Bristol fans were disapointed he left N'Guessan - Highly rated, chased by a few club's including Sheff United, bags of potential to succeed at this level and maybe higher. So tell me what is so disheartening about those players?? Considering we've still got 3 of the magic six to come, I'd say we've done pretty well. Apart from Hobbs and N'Guessan, there is not much apperrant quality to push us up anywhere near the top of the Championship. The fial signings MUST be significantly superior. I can see trouble looming nest season at this rate,
Corky Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Can't see us going up or down, I think we'll be around 9th/10th, which would be fine.
dog_4 Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 teams fine! i think n'guessan will be a star! we've got tunchev back, which will bring the passing game back! so happy days! i'd rather be us then newcastle and derby are signing loads of shit players! so be positive peeps!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 July 2009 Posted 1 July 2009 APPARENT, FINAL, NEXT!!!!!! Yes. Sorry, I was pissed again!
