Part Of The Crowd Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I hate goal music, no place for it in the game. I much prefer going to away games as when we score none of that heap of turd is played (and of course I go for the other obvious reasons). I completely sympathise with you all, get rid of that fooking disgrace. This coming from a Franchiser...
leicesterseddon Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 What did we play before Chelsea Dagger? The jazzed-up PHG. And before that we played nothing, but that was only for about 120 years, so it might have slipped some people's memories...
ramboacdc Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 i thought they just used to play that horn before the jazzed up PHG. the one they play on RL aswell. or used to anyway when i was a kid.
Nugent Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I really can't remember what it's called though, somebody help me out here. This? Or the music the old Sky Sports News title music. I agree though, either would be good.
Finchy Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Better atmosphere, a proper intimidating ground and fans who - if goal music had played would have swamped the mercury and phone-ins with letters and calls to Nev demanding it be removed. God knows where we get this current lot from, I feel more out of place every time I go down there now. God I miss Filbert Street, i'm sure it's the same for a lot here but some of the best memories from my childhood are from FS. I can't see any childhood memories being made at the Walkers, it's a shame really.

No, nor me, then again I suppose it's what your bought up with, Many kids I see at the Walkers seem happy to be there and interested but don't necessarily seem interested in the atmosphere or what's going on on the pitch. If I was a kid now being took to the Walkers I don't think i'd be half the fan or half as interested in City as I am thanks to being took the Filbert Street.
The Birch Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I was glad when I heard they were changing the music from CD to Kasabian and it is better but it still sounded bad. The delay before it comes on is good in that people can actully celebrate properly but it just sounds awkward when the music comes on, as if someone is sitting by the cd player and had fallen aslep and forgot to press play at the right time. Theres no need for it, get rid. I used to have a season ticket in the east stand and the sort of people that sat around me are the sort that probably rang radio Leicester complaining, always moaning about something and don't seem that interested in the actual football on the pitch.
Ultra Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 ******. I've every intention of ringing the moan in tomorrow to have a rant at these cretins. Monday moan-ins have been cancelled. It was announced in the match programme. The only time you can now ring Radio Leicester is immediately after matches.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 @ FezCould you not use your media contacts and please write a biased anti goal music article for the mercury. Good news, they kept it in. Then, of course, we had the much-vaunted new "goal celebration music." My dad started taking me to Filbert Street as a five-year-old in the days of David Pleat. I do not recall any goal celebration music in those days. Admittedly, that might have been because there were no goals to celebrate. Either way, to a lot of us who find it difficult to make our voices heard amid the clamour for a family-based "match-day experience" these days, goal celebration music is embarrassing. We do not want or need to be orchestrated and I think it is sad that the club must feel they would lose fans if they ditched this unnecessary gloss.
Babylon Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 The best thing I can say is that I didn't really notice it. With Chelsea bloody dagger no matter how hard I tried I'd end up clapping in time with it.
carterfox90 Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Monday moan-ins have been cancelled. Babylon Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 [/b]is that correct then on the monday phone-in they no longer have any phone callers that sounds typical radio leicester !!!!!!!!!!!1 It was the same idiots all the time anyway, they just liked the sound of their own voices and knew bugger all about Leicester.
Fox92 Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 I am not really up for the whole music when score thing because I would settle for no music but seeing as everyone hates the new one, why don't we play pigbag when Fryatt scores because the whole crowd would sing 'matty fryatt du du du du matty fryatt'
davieG Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 I am not really up for the whole music when score thing because I would settle for no music but seeing as everyone hates the new one, why don't we play pigbag when Fryatt scores because the whole crowd would sing 'matty fryatt du du du du matty fryatt' Or, wait for it - why don't we just sing that when he scores, radical I know but I've got a feeling it might just work.
Fox92 Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Or, wait for it - why don't we just sing that when he scores, radical I know but I've got a feeling it might just work. True, suppose it was a stupid post on my behalf seeing as everyone does sing his name when he scores anywway.
davieG Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 True, suppose it was a stupid post on my behalf seeing as everyone does sing his name when he scores anywway. No problem goal music has that affect on people.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 What kind of thugs could possibly want to remove my precious goal music. This is the only way I know how to celebrate and enjoy myself becuase I'm a twat.
Edmund Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Monday moan-ins have been cancelled. It was announced in the match programme. No it hasn't. Good news, they kept it in.
leicesterseddon Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Supporters can purchase Kasabian’s album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, which includes the match day music ‘Underdog’ and goal celebration music ‘Fire’ from HMV Leicester, Proud suppliers of matchday music at the Walkers Stadium This just abouts says it all for me. Not only is our ground commercially named, not are three of our four stands commercially sponsored, not only are both the exterior and interior of the ground covered in advertising hoardings, but the club are now using the celebration of goals as a means of promoting a band's new album. This whole affair has got Lee Hoos written all over it...
Vlad The Impaler Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Better than Chelsea Dagger, though I can't 'accidentally' touch the womans boobs next to me when doing the celebration anymore
Nod.E Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Hearing people ringing in and complaining that they want Chelsea Dagger back pissed me right off on Saturday.
Guest Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 The best thing I can say is that I didn't really notice it. With Chelsea bloody dagger no matter how hard I tried I'd end up clapping in time with it. I know what you mean, I always end up clapping either stupidly fast or ridiculously slow just to make a point that I'm not going along with that song
Vlad The Impaler Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 I know what you mean, I always end up clapping either stupidly fast or ridiculously slow just to make a point that I'm not going along with that song Same And for the PHG aswell
