Drum roll before corners. Get it done.

Also a "AAaaahhhhhhhhhh" before a NEilson long throw.

It'll happen.

And you will all enjoy it

Mark my words....

Well Coventry sponsor their corners. It surely can't get ANY lower than that?

We used to have sponsored tannoy announcements for substitutions, they used to announce changes in the normal way and then say 'this message is sponsored by phonestar.com'. Or something like that <_<

so just after MM took over then ...

I seem to remember hey jude at filbo, don't know if it was over the tannoy or just the fans in the kop singing it... i do remember it though.

If people are so bothered about it then all it would take would be 5 peope with a clipboard mulling around the ground pre and post kick off to get signatures for people that are against goal music. et you would get a few hundred signatures.

Unless you can get nigh on 10K signatures you'd just be wasting your time, as much as I hate it I'm afraid in the short term at least it's here to stay. It would take something monumental to get the club to change their minds to them this is the ultimate in 'family entertainment'.

I don't see what the fuss is all about, I might not like it but it's about 0.001% of your "match day experience". Some people act like it ruins their day even if we win. If that's the case I think these people will ALWAYS find something to whine about. Whether it's goal music, crap beer, cold pies, how loud music is, not enough Birch, too much Birch, cheerleaders, no cheerleaders, kids waving flags, smoking, drinking, flasks, old people, young people, standing, sitting, singing, not singing, swearing, stewards..........

I think you'd need more than 10,000 signatures, the club see the goal music and other entertainment toss as a way of encouraging the floating supporters and kids to come to the game, they think that the regular fans will come anyway, even if they destroy the traditional atmosphere. We have to face the truth and accept that football will never go back.

Birmingham City used to have goal music, then the club posted an online vote on its web-site, leading to its removal.

I agree about the club's stubborness on the issue; you only had to listen to the Birch on the moan-in, who backed the club to the hilt on the issue, as entirely expected. If we can get an online poll though, we have a decent chance of getting things changed. On the face of it, the club have nothing to lose really...if goal music really is as popular as they clearly think it is then it will give them some justification, if it isn't, they can get rid of it in the name of the fans. Granted some fans wouldn't like not having the music, but I seriously doubt even the most moronic tits would actually stop going because they are deprived of 20 seconds or so of innane jiggery. Let's not forget that the club introduced it without actually asking the fans. I remember that fateful day when CD first came on, no one was expecting it, no one knew what to do. Now, 3 seasons on, some fans wouldn't know what to do if the club got rid of it.

I just don't understand why the club can't do what they did when they considered changing the clubs name, and have a paper vote at half time?

that was awesome when they did that.

only about 100 people held up "F" and most of them were near me shouting "up the fosse!"

Whilst I think that would be perfect, I have a horrible suspicion that most people would be in favour of it.

That'd make me chuckle if that happened.

God I miss Filbert Street, i'm sure it's the same for a lot here but some of the best memories from my childhood are from FS. I can't see any childhood memories being made at the Walkers, it's a shame really.

Pretty sure Greg's memories so far will be from Hereford, Peterborough (his face is still stinging from the hailstorm), Southend and Crewe. The Walkers? Not so much.

Further evidence of the importance of away games is that since watching the Blades fans waving their arms around like numpties last week Greg has firmly joined the 'anti-CD' brigade.
