Fox You Forest Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 This weekend saw Norwich City equal their worst ever defeat, slumping to a 7-1 home thrashing at the hands of Colchester. One young fan was heard on the phone to his sister, saying "Mum I couldn't believe it, if they conceded any more I'd have had to count them on my other hand..."
AoWW Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 anotheroneofwalshieswomen was later found dead in a skip with a lad who drove his tractor through norwich city centre. I'm safe at the moment - they're all busy harvesting and playing with their combine harvesters. They'll have forgotten all about it soon.

lildave3 Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Does anyone else think that Bryan Gunn in his glasses looks like Eddie Hitler (Ade Edmondson) from Bottom? Reminds me of the 'Who dear gay dear me dear no dear' guy from the Catherine Tate show

Got to love "The Norwich Family" click click.... Reminds me of the 'Who dear gay dear me dear no dear' guy from the Catherine Tate show haha im totally seeing that...
Fosse Boy Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Poor old Norwich. Still, nice to know that I've recorded as many assists at Carrow Road this year as the entire Norwich side. On the Ball, City!
Daggers Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Reminds me of the 'Who dear gay dear me dear no dear' guy from the Catherine Tate show He always seems to have a head made up of different coloured flesh - I think he is a blood-sucking, brain-eating zombie.

Fox92 Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Definetley a shock result in the whole of the country never mind league 1. Been expecting Colchester to do well though this season, Lambert is a great manager, but didn't expect them to score 7 at Carrow Road in a local derby.
dandannieldanok Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Michael Theoklitos was in goal for his first game for Norwich he is a very good keeper, he started off shakey for us at Melbourne Victory then was immense in goals for his 4 seasons he had here. He will be ok. The bloke was absolutely horrendous.

Hardly local, much closer to ipswich

He will be ok. Even in L1 he will face far more quality that he did in the A League.
Corky Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 The bloke was absolutely horrendous. His attempted punch for the first goal
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 The Aussie keeper who played reminded me of a worse Kalac. He was shocking on his debut but he only let in 2 if I remember correctly and we still won 3-2 at WBA. I feel that Gunn will not be there come September. If they had any sense they would go for soemone like Paul Jewell to turn the fortunes as well. I quite like Norwich but this made me laugh.

Not really that much of a local derby, their mutual hatred of Ipswich probably binds them together if anything.

Norwich are only bothered about Ipswich, Colchester seem more concerned with Southend or Ipswich. No rivalry there really.

They had a decent pre-season and there is a huge air of positivity about the club and the players love Gunn. 10 new players and a new board of directors - I think they'll do good, this was just part of a learning curve for them.
