Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Isn't it nice to have some blokes in our team that scare the shit out of the opposition. We haven't had this in ages, probably since Taggart. Imagine if you had to play against Brown every week! I certainly wouldn't look forward to it. Also, I don't know if anyone noticed this but Berner put in the most horrendous first challenge after about 5 mins in on Dyer, and didn't even get booked. I absolutely loved it, so old school!

Hopefully we can start making teams vary of us now instead of thinking we're going to be a walk over.
Koke Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Wellens doesn't scare me. Brown looks like one of those bouncers at nightclubs.

Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I agree with this thread. Every successful team has at least one big, mean bastard in their ranks. We have three of them and as a result, few teams will take us lightly.
Messi Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Love It. Nicky Adams is like a little fiery jack russel aswell, straight in their when the sheepshagger hit howard
davieG Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 let him know he's in a game. experienced decision. You wouldn't be saying that if he'd have been sent off, there's plenty of refs that would have done so. Getting booked or worse still sent off for stupid dangerous tackles is not big or clever. even in the past when it was more part and parcel of the game there were still plenty of better players who could put in strong, clever legal tackles in the style of Graham Cross.
lildave3 Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Love It.Nicky Adams is like a little fiery jack russel aswell, straight in their when the sheepshagger hit howard Well he is a scouser
StanSP Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Berner's challenge was quite dirty! Studs up. Shin/knee height. Later on in the season could have been a different decision! Brown got floored though late on in the game
The Doctor Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 personally i liked the event in the first half where one of there lads "got fouled" by howard and ended up on the floor so howard sat on him.
Zingari Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Dave-Pundit will love having a few hard men dishing it out to them fancy dan foreigners
Ozwin Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 I said we needed some of these sorts of players when we went down. So happy we have some right tough men in the side now.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Agree with everything said, it's nice having an attitude about the team, these are the players we need if we want to mount a play offs push, i'd like to see beckford in to add to that aswell but let's not go off topic
Wycombe Fox Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Was actually saying very similar things to this yesterday. Love it. Hopefully we can start making teams vary of us now instead of thinking we're going to be a walk over. How very German! Ve vill vin ze Championship...ja?
Flynny Posted 10 August 2009 Posted 10 August 2009 Best of all it's nice to have tough players who can get it on the floor. Rare combination that. On the other hand, bring back Danny Tiatto.
Jimmy Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 In the 1st half Brown came over to head the ball out for a throw and I thought he was going to follow through and nut Nathan Dyer as well, bet he shat himself
dandannieldanok Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 Nicky Adams was really fired up on saturday, great stuff!
CosbehFox Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 Well he is a scouser He's a Manc..born in Bolton.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 I said before the start of the season we needed 3 things to be successful in this league. Physical presence. Power. Pace. We certainly have a good combination of those amongst the squad. We're not too lightweight, but there's still individuals that could beef up a bit and add more physically. I'm thinking King, possibly Dyer - obvious choices though.
Katy Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 How very German! Ve vill vin ze Championship...ja? Yes ok Pedant Terry.
lildave3 Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 He's a Manc..born in Bolton. Really? Could have sworn he was scouse.
lou Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 Really? Could have sworn he was scouse. A Manc born in Bolton??? How does that work!?
The Doctor Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 A Manc born in Bolton??? How does that work!? because bolton is a suburb of manchester, like how wigston and oadby are part of leicester
