King absent from the game Radio Leicester saying, hope he isn't going to struggle all season as I like him as a player.

He seems lost all season so far. Not sure what's happened, but he's not really staking his claim ahead of Wellans.

Damn

Never good to lose, seemed to play quite well and could have been different if we were given the penalty.

Hopefully as said above this will annoy the players and get them really up for the newcastle game who have been impressive so far.

Not bothered, as long as they went out with pride and gave the squad players gametime. It's really not worth getting emotionally invested in a cup like this, we have bigger fish to fry in the league this season, as far as I'm concerned.

Slightly disappointing, bad substitutions from Pearson. Why take off N'Guessan when he's creating so much, leave King on when he's not performing, bring Dickov on when he's always really really angry? Ah well.

I wanted us to win tonight because we could easily lose on Monday and then its 2 defeats on the trot and we can lose a bit of momentum, but I'm not overly bothered about going out.

Didn't sound like a too bad a performance, but we didn't seem so secure at the back without Brown and Hobbs. Missing our 3 best players so far this season in my opinion in Hobbs, Brown and Wellens and we've gave a good and pretty strong looking Preston side a decent game.

When is Dickov not angry? lol. I just hope when Kermit and Gally have blended into the squad we will be able to leave the dickov at home.

This was my worry.

Maybe wanted to give King 90 minutes to prove himself, even if he wasn't performing he may think that taking him off again would knock his confidence. :dunno: As for Dickov on and N'Guessan off I dont know.

A fair point and one I was concerned about, but Pearson does seem to have an ability to avoid the team going into a slump. We recovered from each of our defeats last season with victories, and we will have over a week's break before the Blackpool game even if we do lose to the Geordies.

:giggle: Sorry.

Also, Dickov?

I'm saying no more :nono:

It was quite funny I must admit . And I think that there are many people who could go on and on and on as far as Dickov is concerned!

not read all the posts, but i thought that a win was in the bag here today. would have been nice to see Maxy G play today and Kermit starting.

fook it, got the toon wankers on monday!

not to bothered about losing but we stretched a few legs which will be good because our subs are in a good playing condition. dissapointed without the likes of brown, hobbs and wellens because i think we could have easily won the game with a slightly stronger side put out.

i wont lie im not really that bothered about losing this would of been nice to win but im glad we got through no injuries kermo got his debut one less thing to concentrate on for the lads for me this season is about top 6 (play offs).

So bring on the toon and hope this loss doesnt affect morale bcus at the end of the day we are still unbeaten in the league and i think minimum we can get is a point at Newcastle

Come on You foxes!!

Just got back and very disapointed, we looked good in the early stages good finish by adams and from then on i thought we were poor.

We missed Wellens in midfield bigstyle Oakley, King and N'Guessen were poor. Morrison was terrible some of his back passes were the worst i have seen, and Gall held onto the ball to much at times.

Adams and Powell were our best players i thought although Weale put in a solid performance yet again.

Good to see Yann get a game, and i thought Dickov didn't do to badly and i even forgot dyer came on.

I don't think I've ever been as not bothered by a loss in my life.

Roll on Monday, hopefully super Steve Howard makes a miraculous recovery this week too.

Cant understand why people are so unmoved by the loss.

Sure its only the Cup and we would have been knocked out sooner or later but a decent cup run would bode well for all the players especially the squad boys to get a look in.

More decent results we get,the more the players realise that perhaps we can compete in this league.

Having said that hopefully no more players were injured last night and thye can carry on with thier league campaign with just as much confidence before the defeat.

Yeah not fantastic, but it's hardly a major defeat. Weale can come out of the game with the most praise, he was brilliant tonight. At the other end Lonergan was almost equally difficult to beat in the Preston goal, and it's not as if we didn't create chances.

Tunchev had a bit of nightmare, so hopefully he'll get his sharpness back soon enough. Very rusty to say the least, he was certainly at fault for their first goal.
