outfoxed77 Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 I'm pretty sure we lost 1-0 up at Blackpool the last time we played them, well we were 1-0 down when I got chucked out after 15 mins.

Why you get chucked out? And yeah last time we played them at home, first game of 2007 season. Lost 1-0. Grayson's first game in charge of them I think
maddog Posted 10 September 2009 Author Posted 10 September 2009 Taylor Fletcher is out http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/8248480.stm
StanSP Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Taylor Fletcher is out http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/8248480.stm I wouldn't take anything for granted. Newcastle were missing there top strikers yet they beat us. Granted it was against a 'bigger club' but still, we should play our game whoever it is against.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 I'm going for 3-1. Howard, Fryatt and Wellens I'll have some of that.
Pricey Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 I'd like to see Gallagher and Fryatt score, 2-0 would be good.
leicesterfox86 Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 It's got to be the type of game where we are aiming for three points. Nothing else is really good enough. A lot will be decided by our home form, so its got to be a win. 1-0 will do nicely.
cecchini Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 I hate these games. Its always a banana skin, and we tend to slip on it. I can see a repeat of the 0 v 1 loss we had last time at the walkers - we still can't seem to score goals!
Mikesev Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Evening Foxes, I hope you don't mind a Blackpool fan intruding. Very much looking forward to visiting your ground this weekend, my first time at the Walkers. Reading this thread I'm sure Ollie will get plenty of stick, and to be fair if it was a manager who'd taken us down I'd be giving him a bit. I do think he's perhaps developed a bit since you last saw him though, he claims that his year out gave him time to do so and he's doing ok for us so far. I see some of you are pleased Gary Taylor-Fletcher is out, and whilst this is definitely a blow for us as he's been in good form, he certainly isn't our best player (or even in our top five). All this will mean is that Hameur Bouazza will be given the nod, who should be even more of a threat. It'll also be good to see Wellens and Adam against each other again. Charlie has upped his game massively since you last saw him and would definitely win the title of 'best Blackpool player' if it came to it. There's also a lot of confidence in the team at the moment, we played Cardiff off the park but managed only 1-1 and since then we've thumped Wigan 4-1 and Coventry 3-0. Moreover your performances at home, even against the early divisional strugglers, haven't been entirely convincing so I'm sure Ollie will be keen for an upset to silence the jeers. Overall, the game will be a tight one, I can't see us conceding too many as our defense has been pretty solid, so I'd probably go for a 1-0, 0-1 or 1-1 scoreline. Enjoy the rest of the season.
Mikesev Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Is GTF a winger or striker? Both. Mostly a winger, but likes to get in the box.
Ozwin Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Both. Mostly a winger, but likes to get in the box. Well considering he came out the other day saying he'd rather play up front, I think he considers himself a striker.
MC Prussian Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Rumour has it, there's a Swiss in attendance on Saturday. I wish I could say it was Roger Federer, but unfortunately, he's too busy winning the US Open at the moment, so they sent me in as a suitable, inexpensive replacement. Btw, I s*ck at Tennis. But will sign autographs on request.

Thracian Posted 11 September 2009 Posted 11 September 2009 I always find it hard to back against City but if Pearson carries on with his Chosen Men I cannot see why Blackpool shouldn't fancy themselves for a point. With only three or four potential goalscorers to worry about it shouldn't be too difficult for them to restrict us to one goal or so. On the other hand if Pearson finally shows a bit of genuine attacking ambition this season - instead of battening the hatches the moment we get get ahead - then it might be different. It might also be different if we utilise the pace and elusiveness of DJ - someone who probably knows the Blackpool defenders better than most - but that's probably akin to wishing for Chritsmas to come early. There's no doubt we have the personnel to attack in numbers. But I still believe we're a club that's weighed down by fear apart from the teams that play out of Belvoir Drive. And fear is the worst enemy imaginable if you want to win things.
Flynny Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 I always find it hard to back against City but if Pearson carries on with his Chosen Men I cannot see why Blackpool shouldn't fancy themselves for a point. Oh FFS not this again.
Babylon Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Oh FFS not this again. Come on it's the standard Thracian argument. a) Claim there are "chosen men". b) Pick a player who he knows WILL NOT get a kick for more than two minutes if they are lucky. c) Claim that had we picked that player instead of the "chosen men", we would have scored more goals and won every game. d) Throw in some stuff about attacking football. e) Claim victory in the argument knowing very well it can never be proven as said player will never play. f) Go to general chat and throw out a yahoo news story or maybe something about immigrants.
Smudge Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Anyone know the squad for today? The only change is Dyer in for Gallagher
