Delighted with another home win, I think we deserved it on balance. They came to win, which was good to see, and it led to an open match. Poor goal to give away, but it was Brown's only error, apart from that he was outstanding, as was Oakley. Wellens looks a real quality player, and Fryatt is starting to show he is capable at this level.

We can play better, but there will be worse teams than Blackpool to come in the future.

Three very valuable points, another maximum return from Peterborough will do now :D

Two goals scored through defensive errors rather than comprehensive build-up in open play.

Against stronger teams, I wonder where goals will come from if we persist in a Fryatt/Howard starting combo and deny the faster players match-time.

Who cares how the goals were scored. Thats what football is about. Winning when your not playing on top of your game. So be it we had a bit of luck but we took our chances and I don't see the need to worry. Seems some people are finding any old excuse to have a moan. :P

lol What have you done with Daggers, Thracian?

Don't think I've seen him since last season. Nor many of the other Swan Lestas although it was nice to say hi to The Singh

during a brief visit to The Swan yesterday and to pass the time of day with Fez at Belvoir Drive during the Arsenal game.

Dyer was awful today. Someone needs to explain to him that he plays on the win, not in the centre. Howard did nothing wrong but i guess the sub was fitness/tiredness based.

I suppose it was very hot and players got tired easy, the reason for the subs.

Whilst I often knock Dyer thought he had a good game as did everyone around me

I just learn to live with the idiots I sit amongst, especially the old bag who moans about the goal music and just about everything to do with our club. I might kill her on Tuesday, there will be a West Stand murder!

From a Blackpool forum:

I thought Fryatt was their only decent player, he caused us problems with his pace all day. I like Evatt and Edwards, but they aren't the quickest center backs in the world. Fryatt ran them ragged the whole game, especially second half.

He did actually look pretty sharp.

Stringer on Radio Leicester kept commenting on how 'Fryatt's pace was causing Blackpools defence all sorts of trouble'

Never thought he was a quick player, but he did look quite sharp yesterday.

I didn't know I was one of the Swan Lestas, but it was nice to see your still the same booze hound as ever Thrac!!!

On the game, I have to agree with Daggers, our attacking play was very direct, and predictable, niether N'guessan or Dyer really threatened or created anything and nieher did the midfield!!!

Just got back from the game, deserved the win. Well done city.

On another note had a ruck with raciest city fans in the Keith Weller Lounge at half time.

Im so angry I cant explain to you. Was at the bar ordering my half time bevy, this ignorant bloke says facking pak* bastard ref we should of been winning etc.. I said hes actullay Indian and not pakistani. He was ignorant he didn't know the difference but yet made raciest coments about him because it was his fault we were drawing at half time and not because of Browns poor defending

Anyone with a brown face is a p*ki acording to this racist 50 year old.

Anyway his mate had to to stop it, as I was ready to knock his block off

I cant beleive this still happens in Leicester. I left the city 20 years ago when this kind of thing was really bad. I've lived in Derby and Nottingham in those years never heard such rubbish like I did at the walkers today. Im really shocked. I've recently been thinking about coming back to the city of my birth but this has really put me off.

The ref was a Sikh, being one myself you would have thought I would have been quite chuffed, but instead I was waiting for the racist\ignorant comments not from the Blackpool fans but our own..............how sad..........

I was with the boy and was glad to say I didn't hear anything, but don't let this incident put you off, majority of city fans aren't ignorant, and I hope it hasn't put you off, but I stress if you do hear such nonsense please do report it to the stewards!!

The thing first I noticed about him was how small he was, he was having to look around players to see what was going on and then I could see he had no neck :P .

I actually thought he had a good game and didn't really notice him until Oakley tried to get him to join in the play.icon6.gif

Not seen you in the cheap seats yet.

I am ashamed to say that I was making comparisons between him and Gladstone Small.

I dont know if this has been mentioned, and I cant be bothered to look, but would anyone say the atmosphere was a little better than normal at the Blackpool game? whilst it wasnt excatly comparable to the

scousers belting out you'l never walk alone, it seemed a marked improvement to me on previous occasions i've experienced at the Walkers this decade.

Please don't, i work in that stand and it will mean i actually have to do some work if you do that. lol

Oh and don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but it said on Radio Leicester after Saturday's game that Fryatt scored his 50th goal for the club.

Fryatt was dangerous throughout and looked pretty quick, too! Not only will he score 20 odd goals this season but he will consisitently be a danger to opposition defences. I've always rated him, his work rate in away games is always impressive (these days most of my City - watching is away from the Walkers)

He's getting a bit of a rep for his pace is Fryatt, all the media outlets keep referring to it, bizarre. Not something I've ever noticed in him. At his peak he's not exactly slow but I wouldn't say quick either.

Especially Stringer on Radio Leicester, who claimed Fryatt's pace was ripping Blackpool to shreads :o

Surely he's seen Fryatt enough to know that he's not quick

Fryatt looked "sharp" although having said that, he was playing against a couple of lumbering oafs on Saturday so I'm not sure too much can be read into it. Personally I think he's quick enough when he gets going, but doesnt have that explosiveness over the first 5 yards.

Mentioning where you work I'm sure I saw JonBlueFox working as a steward in the south stand. Either that or he's got a double.
