lou Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Sorry to be negative but we did spend last season playing inferior teams. Still, well done City! No we spent last season playing league 1 teams...... which is exactly what our team was! Its a fantastic achievement and no one should be taking anything away from them.
Corky Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Sorry to be negative but we did spend last season playing inferior teams. Still, well done City! We were a third tier side last season, no getting away from it. Anyway, you can only beat (or not lose to) whoever is put in front of you, and we have done that for 12 months at home, so credit to Pearson.
Ashley Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Congratulations Nigel Pearson and all the back room staff, players and fans.Having missed the Millwall game last season the last time I saw them lose at home was when Ian Hume missed that penalty against Sheff Weds on the 26th April 2008 This. I was in Salou when we played Millwall at home. Great Achivement for the lads keep it up. In Nigel We Trust
Tilley Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Great achievement. I don't want to put a downer on things but looking at C-Man's list, all them teams are shit, I can't wait for a decent team to come to the Walkers.
AjcW Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 I think a good way of summing the change in home performances under pearson up is by looking at the last two games. Barnsley: 0-0 Half time. Blackpool 1-1 Half time. In our previous spells in the championship those games would of either stayed that way and seen us scraping a point or turned into an opposition win. Whatever nige says at half time seems to work every time. I also like how everyone has to listen to the team talk, you will notice that our subs down warm up until the very end of half time.

I expect us to losse every game, 4 year worth of bad results before last year i guess.

Normally, we used to think we were playing for the Tigers and switched off after 80 mins. But whatever Nigel is doing, he should carry on with it... It seems to be working

I got a little drunk the night before the Millwall game and woke up at half one in a state of disarray.
James. Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Same here. I got a little drunk the night before the Millwall game and woke up at half one in a state of disarray. I saw the Millwall game, I even had 2 seats because of your misdemeanours from the night before. In fact wasn't that the one when you phoned up Fez just before kick off and said you'd been vomiting and wouldn't be making it? Maybe I'm getting games mixed up. It may have happened more than once.
carterfox90 Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 i missed the millwall game so it is well over a year since i have sen us lose at home & hope it is still going to be a long time till i do great achievment by the team well done :appl: :scarf:

Yeah, I rang him at half 1, half an hour after it kicked off saying I'd only just woken up and was feeling a little ill. I then proceeded to vomit under some concrete stairs where a tramp lived while on the phone to him. Not one of my finer moments I must admit.

Guest Bilo Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Let's turn it into an even more impenetrable fortress. Up the atmosphere a couple of notches so teams really don't fancy coming here. Seriously though, a great achievement and testament to Pearson's man-management skills to turn draws into wins and deficits around. The whole team looks more confident and fitter than it has in years, the crowd are enjoying it so there's no reason why teams should see us a soft touch at home.
Nod.E Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Well. That's that record well and truely jynxed.
StanSP Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Let's turn it into an even more impenetrable fortress. Up the atmosphere a couple of notches so teams really don't fancy coming here. What team is that?!

Ozwin Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Brilliant. We can only dream of an atmosphere like that.
Raj Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Bout time we had something to be proud of at The Walkers after the years of shite presented to us of late. Well done Pearson and Co. And MM for finally finding a manager who is worthy of managing us,instead of wanna be's like Holloway and Allen(where is he again???)
LCFC-ARAB Posted 14 September 2009 Posted 14 September 2009 Brilliant. We can only dream of an atmosphere like that. Keep the faith The Walkers WILL be like that one day, i have a feeling
