davieG Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Congratulations Nigel Pearson and all the back room staff, players and fans. Having missed the Millwall game last season the last time I saw them lose at home was when Ian Hume missed that penalty against Sheff Weds on the 26th April 2008
davieG Posted 12 September 2009 Author Posted 12 September 2009 I love this!The fortress bowl! Please don't!

So why do we hear so many boos from the fans at home?! Brilliant acheivement - well done and Thank You to all concerned! Doesnt seem so long back we were saying about the WS being bad luck us
acooling08 Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Very impressive record. Hopefully we'll keep this record going for a while longer.
Koke Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 I was at the Millwall game. We were dire for own high standards. We've come a long way since that dreadful day at the Britannia. All kudos to Nige and his back-room staff for stabilizing a sinking ship and turning it around.

All kudos to Nige and his back-room staff for stabilizing a sinking ship and turning it around. Perhaps the biggest compliment on Pearson's achievement is to consider it alongside how bad we'd been for so long and under successive previous managers. Travelling miles to see us play with a team full of defenders, the farce of seeing people whose very donning of a City shirt was an embarrassment, the misery of watching us drop into the lowest grade of football in our history with barely a whimper... Now at least we've got a team we can talk about without gradually being overcome by a feeling of depression. I don't know how good Pearson will prove to be as a manager but at the very least he's given our club its respect back. I'll always be grateful for that.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Some people may know this some might not, but we have never lost a 3pm kick off under NP. The last being in April 2008 to Wednesday a 3-1 defeat at home. Last season, Millwall at home was 2pm or something then the cup matches were evening games, Brighton & Tranmere away also, and Posh away 12pm. And this season PNE was cup in evening and Newcastle too. Thats some record so I am worried about Tuesday for that matter! Well done lads, we have a fortress again.
Matt Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Things can soon change, but Mr Pearson and everyone involved in the club since last May when we were relegated - Thank-you. It has been so enjoyable after so many years of shit after shit, Things have been totally turned around and I won't say i'm proud again because i've never shyed away from my love of Leicester and i've never hid my support of Leicester but I can actually be proud of being a Leicester fan again at this moment in time! In some extent (If you'd have said it when we got relegated i'd have smashed your teeth in) I thank Ian Holloway for starting the end of our rut, No matter what anyone says if we stayed up - what would have happened last season? No-one knows but i'm fairly confident we'd have been in yet another relegation battle - We needed to be relegated to hopefully stop the rut we were in, and so far it looks like it has worked, things can soon change in football as I said but we can only comment on what is happening now and things look good for once!

I echo these comments. Although I would never stop watching us whatever league we are in it is nice to have a sort of feel good factor around the club once more.

Fox92 Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Premierleague, League 1, League 2, Blue Square Premier, Sunday League or the Coca-cola Championship... A year without loosing at home is a great achievement. Just hope we don't blow it against Peterborough know we have gone one year. September 13th 2008, Leicester 0-1 Millwall. Can't believe it is a year though, it's gone really fast.
haraven Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Indeed a feat worthy of it's own topic. Fortress Walkers - unscaleable!
MC Prussian Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Time for a renaming procedure. The Fortress is more than fitting. Congratulations to Pearson and the team for this outstanding achievement. Now catch that Arsenal (?) record.

davieG Posted 13 September 2009 Author Posted 13 September 2009 A year unbeaten at the Walkers Do you reckon teams will be scared coming here now  I doubt it more like they'll want to be the first team to win.
Anish Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Phenomenal achievement from Pearson and the squad. Pearson's done a tremendous job - I no longer go to matches expecting us to lose, which was the case so often in the past 4-5 years. The team spirit that Pearson has built is similar to that of the heady days of O'Neill and this record is fully deserved. Well done Nige.
AyewJoking Posted 13 September 2009 Posted 13 September 2009 Sorry to be negative but we did spend last season playing inferior teams. Still, well done City!
