Summer Targets Thread, worth a dabble?

we should buy freddy eastwood, mitchell cole, and lee clarke

Mitchell Cole would be a good signing but I think some Premiership teams have been watching him too. Paul Fairclough said he'd love to take him to Barnet but they can't afford him. I can see him joining a League two side first to get used to league football.

Are you having a bubble?

He must be geriatric by now and he wasn't any good in his prime!

Pablo Counago became a free agent yesterday.

Wages would be high, he refused to take a paycut at Ipswich so I doubt he'd then accept a low wage elsewhere. Although Ipswich have pissed him about in the past year or so. Very talented, but i'd rather take a risk on someone who's been playing recently.

Fringe player at Brum now must be worth a shout...on loan.... Geo Horse Horsey Horsefield.

Hed do the job with Connelly

He's a West Brom player and scored one of the goals that helped keep them up

What a silly thread!

Looks as though Ian Evatt is off to QPR, but i'd have gone for him. Can play in defence or midfield, commanding defender and a danger from set pieces, not too costly either.

The other one i've noticed is Ben Futcher, i know Alex and others will know more than me but he gets a few goals and is pretty tall. Only problem is that Lincoln seem to be more direct, so he might be like Heath. Out of contract and a decent age though, anyone think he can make the step up?

Big Bad Ben Futcher, the 8 foot tall wonder.

He's been quality for the Imps, hasn't got as many goals the past couple of seasons (only 3 per season) as he did two seasons ago when he was top scorer with 10 goals.

I think the reason for that though is because every single corner and free kick he gets about 5 players pushing him over yet he gets penalised for the foul because he's a GIANT.

Lincoln are quite direct, but so is the majority of League Two, so it'd be interesting to see how Futcher would cope with a more passing game.

I reckon he could definately make the step up to League One, not so sure about to the Championship though.

Swansea striker Lee Trundle admits to being flattered by speculation linking him with a move to a trio of Championship outfits.

The 28-year-old scored 22 goals to help Swansea to promotion from League Two last season and is reportedly a target for Southampton, Hull and Leicester.

Despite the Swans winning promotion to League One, Trundle admits he could be tempted by a big move, with Tigers boss Peter Taylor having emerged as his latest admirer.

Trundle said: "Hull is a massive club and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't flattered to have my name linked with them. Peter Taylor is a great manager and they're obviously a club going places.

"They are similar to Swansea in that they've been in the doldrums for so many years, but have now started to come good. At the moment I've heard nothing, but will just have to wait and see what happens."

Rookie keeper Pidgeley made one appearance for Chelsea last season in the final home game against Charlton.

Promising defender Watt figured twice in the first-team last term and he is highly-rated within the corridors of Stamford Bridge.

"I can't see him [Jose Mourinho] dropping the likes of John Terry and that to play me in vital games but, as the boss has said, I'll get a chance," Watt told Sky Sports News.

"I'm happy there to be learning, playing with the best, training with the best and learning with the best so I couldn't be anywhere better.

"I've got an offer for another year so maybe I'll take that and see about going out on loan.

"I've got to start playing regular first team football somewhere to see about furthering my career."

Both could be worth a look at ;)

Sheffield United have transfer-listed Rob Kozluk, Nick Montgomery, Andy Liddell, Danny Cadamarteri, Paul Shaw, Paul Thirlwell and Luke Beckett.

Manager Neil Warnock told United's website: "It doesn't necessarily mean that these lads will immediately leave.

"But we cannot guarantee them first-team football and would like to make clubs aware they are available.

"They still form part of the squad but may be sacraficed to bring in other new players or talented youngsters."

The versatile Kozluk, 27, is the Blades' longest serving player having made almost 200 appearances since joining from Derby in 1999.

Kozluk? Worth a shot?

Naah he's no better than what we've got. We don't need another full-back really. Although he's probably not the most fashionable of players Paul Shaw is very dangerous in this division. Super sub!

Ricardo Fuller, anyone?

Yup, mentioned him as a summer target some time ago. He has undoubted ability, but is obviously a bit injury prone. Would love to see him here anyway though...

Adam Barrett, the big Southend centre half was immense all season, and class in the play off final. Wins everything in the air, decent on the deck and is capable of notching a few goals. Im surprised a championship club hasn't had tabled a bid as yet.

A certain Mr Levein bought him to British Football a few years back whilst at Hearts. Could be feasible.

Evatt to QPR.

QPR seal deal for Spireites defender

Chesterfield's Ian Evatt has completed his move to Loftus Road

The 23-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the R's after a six-figure bid triggered a clause in the player's Saltergate contract.

"He's a really good player and we're not surprised there are other clubs after him, but he's keen to join QPR," said R's chairman Bill Power about the former Derby centre-half.
