Yeovil Fan Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Yeovil fan here in peace. He is one of our finest ever home grown product is Wealey and a damn fine keeper. Great to see him established as a number 1 in the Championship and at a club like Leicester, which most of us quite like! (If you wonder why, it is because you didn't behave like big town charlies when you came down to League One, unlike the arrogant t**** Leeds). Has he scored for you yet by the way? If you havent seen it yet, click . That goal (7 minutes into stoppage time), probably made us safe last season. All the best for the rest of the season.

Pst Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 The best keeper we've had down here for years... can't believe Bristol City let him go tbh. Their loss our gain I suppose.
Yeovil Fan Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Great celebration It was indeed. You just get to see our manager pile on at the end before the camera switches to the crowd.
sdb Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I can just see him doing that in this years play off final....!! Touch wood he stays fit because his deputy isn't fit to lace his boots
BedsFox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Superb spot by Stowell in the summer What a signing!
Babylon Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 As a keeper myself, for me to feel unworried at corners, free kicks, shots etc is a revelation. A free transfer?????????????????????? Ha cheers Bristol.
ashwj Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Ha, idiots. you can keep your Big Mac accompaniment. We've got Chris Weale!
andy_croydz Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Weale is a very very good goalkeeper IMO. When he came in Summer I didn't know anything about him but I have been very impressed by him. I am a goalkeeper myself (a poor one) and when I watch Weale I feel like he is confident when he comes for the ball and everytime I have seen him so far this season he has been solid. An unsung hero of the team i reckon.
andy_croydz Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 we have not had a keeper this good since kevin pressman left You say that as a joke but Pressman IMO was actually a decent keeper for us. Yeh he made an absolute clanger against Lonergan at home to Preston but I remember he produced some outstanding saves. Remember that one against Gillingham away when their striker hit it from about 3-4 yards and pressman somehow tipped it wide. Also against Cov at home in Leveins first ever game he made a great save when the ball was heading for the far corner.
lcfc_jme Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Worth a spot on the plane to South Africa as he is definitely far superior to Ben Foster.
Koke Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Fabio Capello only came to watch Chris Weale. That's a fact.
Corky Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Fabio Capello only came to watch Chris Weale. That's a fact. I'm sure he'll have been impressed by Weale. Top signing, hope he doesn't get injured.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Fabio Capello only came to watch Chris Weale. That's a fact. Joking aside, he put Joe Lewis in the squad when he was a League Two keeper. Would be awesome to have a player considered for England, even if he was on the fringes of a friendly squad.

Ha cheers Bristol. I cant believe Bristol think they have not just 1 but 2 better keepers than Weale!! He was 3rd choice! What a joke
Father Ted Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 On a serious note, I believe Weale can also represent Wales? But, I honestly believe that he could play for England. With friendlies coming up and jokers like Foster, grandad James and Robinson getting in, Weale could be the answer...

I would be very surprised if he got into the squad, look at steve harper he is playing very well indeed and is overlooked.

Remember David Nugent as well, he was at Preston then wasn't he and not Pompey when he was called up for England?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 I have to admit, now, that Chris Weale was a brilliant signing. He is QUALITY.
The Padster Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Dont know if any of you guys were down Pump N Tap for the match last night but the atmosphere was amazing. After Wealey got cracked someone started up a chant of Du Du Du Du Du Terry Butcher, absolutely amazing keeper, love him, feel very confident with him in goal.

No word of a lie, Capello last night asked what our keepers name was and whether he was English. May not mean he's going to be in the next squad, but he was certainly noticed.

Nope was at Loftus but I really really think we should have a FT meet up in the Pump and Tap before it shuts and gets bulldozed for a swimming pool!
lcfc_jme Posted 1 November 2009 Posted 1 November 2009 Suffered what appeared to be a gash just above the eye yesterday being brave at the feet of Routledge(?) and sprung straight back up to ensure we didn't concede. Guy's an animal.
