MC Prussian Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Another UK electronica find: It's supposed to be a mixture between the Talking Heads and Hot Chip, but I find they do sound better than that.
WardyisPukka Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 One of the best things I've heard all year so far. one word QUALITY
James. Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Don't know if already mentioned but just hold of Kairos by White Hinterland. Some similarities with The XX but a little more experimental and not quite as accessible. Got a feeling this album is a proper grower, the potential's definitely there. Nice interesting beats, beautiful vocals and some pleasing sub bass.

MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Should the Smutsmeister ever get to read this, in a Discovery-one-fellow-swoop I present to you:
Joe. Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Is it that much better than their previous effort Alexei? Didn't really think much to it really, not sure whether this is worth a download or not.

Didn't really think much to it really, not sure whether this is worth a download or not. It's the first time I've heard of them - not a bad effort, but nothing really too special to my ears. Some of the tracks have a certain childish quality to them. Not sure what to make of it - however, it's certainly worth a listen.

Rocket-Ron Posted 29 March 2010 Posted 29 March 2010 Not a patch on "Fantastic Playroom" in my opinion
Samilktray Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Despite Dr Dre coming out and saying it won't be coming out this year, a single from Detox is rumoured to be coming this week featuring Jay-Z. Personally think its an early Aprils Fools. Also some big news regarding Eminems new album is due this week, maybe a release date or first single, and then Drakes album has been given a release date of May 25th.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 April 2010 Posted 1 April 2010 ShyChild are quality Joe, get a grip, thought you were better than that.

Joe. Posted 4 April 2010 Posted 4 April 2010 Yeah I got hold of that last week Alexei after hearing Radar Detector a month or so back. It's definitely got the catch factor to it, but it's all a little samey to me. I'd be surprised if I didn't hear him on the radio within the next few months though, it's certainly got the potential for that...

Personally think its an early Aprils Fools. Turns out this wasnt an April Fools, 'Under Pressure' Featuring Jay-Z, coming in the next 2 weeks or so and Dr Dre came out yesterday and said Detox will be coming out this year. I am giddy as a school girl now.
Joe. Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 I'll be interested to see what Kele Okereke (lead of Bloc Party) can produce on his solo project. He has an album coming out on June 21st called 'The Boxer'.

Joe. Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Shall be looking out for that. Bloc Party split then? Or just 'taking a break'? Yeah I think it's just a break for now. I guess it'll all hinge on how successful the solo material is really. He's got a festival appearance at Reading & Leeds to go through this summer so I think that may be a test of the water with his new stuff. Can't see anything coming from them within the next year personally.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 I thought Intimacy really was a bit weak from Bloc Party. Loved the other two albums, but apart from the odd track, it didn't really do much for me.
