Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of

Recommended Posts

There is a thread open, but this only gets a brief mention! Deserves its own thread!!!!

Fed up of Simon Cowell's latest karaoke act being Christmas No.1?

Me too... So who's up for a mass-purchase of the track 'KILLING IN THE NAME' from December 13th - 19th (DON'T BUY IT YET!) as a protest to the X-Factor monotony?

I signed up to this about a week ago when there was 8 or 9 thousand members, just checked now and it's coming on 400,000! I think it's the same guys who tried to get Jeff Buckley to number 1 last year.

So, basically what'll happen is a load of people will see their friends have joined the facebook group, have a quick chuckle at the idea of RATM at number one for Christmas, join the group themselves, and then about half a dozen people will actually bother to buy it.

I bet Rage Against The Machine are loving this. Big pay day coming their way.

Why Rage Against The Machine though?

I don't think it really matters that much anymore to be honest, now we are in a digital age, music is so much more accessible. It's not like when I was a lad and you'd nip to Woolworths to but a cassette!

To be fair, it got to number two so they had a good crack at it

Because Killing in the Name of's lyrics fit the slogan they've adopted. 'Fuck you I won't buy what you sell me' referring to X-Factor's dominance of recent Xmas Number 1s.

Besides, who the fuck cares who's Number 1? Bit pathetic if you ask me.

lolIs that the same guy who did this? Ho Ho fking Hoo

I don't buy singles but if Rage Against the Machine was on sale for Crimbo I would buy the fricker. Them guys know what's poppin. That Mexico gig they did years ago is still one of the greatest

Yes indeedy.

I'm up for buying Rage Against the Machine myself, not least because it reminds me of pissed up nights in Mosh. Heroic.

I like Simon Cowell and I don't blame him at all for doing what he does. I choose not to watch the Xfactor because I think it is shit; It doesn't appeal to me at all and I'd be pleased to see the back of it. The only real decent singer to emerge from this was Leona Lewis wasn't it?

I've just brought Cliff Richard - Mistletoe & Wine.

Hope it makes it to #1. :)

lol Not a bad Christmas banger but I prefer the old "Jingle-Bell, Jingle-Bell, Jingle-Bell rock...". Think it's in Home Alone but can't remember what it's called.

So, not a Cliff fan, eh? Listen to Saviour's Day, with the video, that'll change your mind mate.
