haraven Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Roberto Martinez set to make £3m move for Foxes forward Published 22:45 02/01/10 By MirrorFootball Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is ready to offer £3million for Leicester striker Matty Fryatt. Martinez is set to test the resolve of Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric this month with a bid for his old Walsall team-mate. Fryatt is Leicester’s leading scorer again this season with 12 goals and the Latics are desperate to bring in more firepower to boost their relegation scrap. Wolves are also long-term admirers of the 23-year-old but Wigan are prepared to make the first move with a firm offer. Link: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Wigan...icle274939.html In my opinion we need to keep Fryatt, and I think he really likes it here. 3 millions will however be something MM will consider, if there is any truth in this.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Good against QPR, Great against Shef U there the last 2 games i have seem so it seems to me crazy to let him go.
Guest Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I hope Milan has enough sense to tell Martinez where he can stick his £3m. We'd be bloody stupid to let him go IMO.
FleckneyFox Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Shouldn't even consider anything short of £4.5million
Ozwin Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 It seems strange to me that they'd spend £3m on Fryatt, I mean they've got scouts worldwide, I'm sure they could spend that £3m on Humberto Suazo or some other south american decent player.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 There'll be a very severe backlash if they sell. I know he's over rated a touch but he's still one of City's best players, can't complain about 12 goals either, really.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 3 millions a joke. MM wouldn't sell for less than 4.5 easy.

I know he's over rated a touch but he's still one of City's best players, can't complain about 12 goals either, really. Especially considering there was so much talk that we couldn't find that elusive 20 goal a season player and he is on track to do it 2 seasons in a row.
fatmando Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I think if you just throw Fryatt in at the deep end ie. the Premiership, he won't be as prolific. If he came up to that level with us, had a close season to prepare and stuff, he might do alrite but he's not strong or quick enough to do it against half the premiership defences right now. He and MM should stay as they are, at least until the summer.
Jonezy Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 When we bought Gallagher, I actually thought, that Fryatt was on his way out, as he seemed a ready made replacement. Fryatt wasn't on his way out, and now he is our most important player. You don't sell your most important players unless someone is paying silly money, and 3 million is not silly enough.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Nope. Give us £4m and... actually, just looking at their squad, they have't got anyone worth exchanging £6m then please, and we'll start talking
davieG Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Also in the NOW - http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/foot...ore%3A+Wigan%29 ROBERTO MARTINEZ intends to offer Leicester £3million for old pal Matty Fryatt. Wigan chief Martinez knows the striker, 23, from their time together at Walsall a few years ago. Fryatt scored 32 goals last season as the Foxes won promotion to the Championship and is top scorer again this term with 12 so far. Wolves are also keen on him but City boss Nigel Pearson sees Fryatt as vital to their promotion push. Sunderland were previously credited with an interest in the promising attacker.

Probably because he's worth more than double that and £3m wouldn't even pay for his agent.

If Wolves come in for him then they can offer us £2m plus Ebanks-Blake, Doyle and Stearman and we'll go from there!
Flynny Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Chopra who has already been poor in the Prem but is a proven Championship goalscorer cost Cardiff £3 million. Fryatt might yet be a Premiership goalscorer, at least Wigan obviously hope so (if this is true), and they're a Premiership club who should have more money to spend. £3 million isn't enough.
maddog Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 Was watching yesterdays game and Howard looking shite and thinking if Fryatt leaves we will be totally fooked. We will have nothing. 0 pace up front and no right winger is bad enough, but no Fryatt aswell, game over. But then Kermo came on and i thought, he could save us if Fryatt left.
tylesta Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 if we sell fryatt t tells me one thing milan snt intrested!

WHY DOES EVERYONE SEE KERMORGANT AS A GOD? He hasn't done anything. No goals to his name, just an assist. Because he's got a fancy name, and he's french everyone worships him! He needs more time to prove himself. If Fryatt left the person that would save us would be Waghorn. His pace and strength upfront has already impressed this season.

You'd have to be a fool to see that Kermorgant didn't practically change the game yesterday, he looked very sharp.
bigneville Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 £3million is no where near enough. Make it around £4.5million and the offer might be too good to turn down.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 £3m + Jason Scotland & Koumas. I'd take that.
Corky Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 We should keep him. I knwo he's frustrating at times, but will we get in anyone better? Unlikely.
davieG Posted 3 January 2010 Posted 3 January 2010 I can't see them risking it apparently J Scotland hasn't scored yet for them, unless they're planning for life in the Championship
