Pearson hasn't been looking at him, that rumour is straight from footballrumours.com

Are you saying that footballRUMOURS.com isn't reliable?

I bet Walsall have a sell on clause, so we wouldn't see all of the money.

Good shout that.

25% seems to be pretty standard so wouldn't be surprised if it's that amount.

So £2,400,000 then.

Don't sell on clauses decrease in percentage over time? :dunno:

Well the last time I negotiated a player contract they did... oh hang on, I never have.

The thing is Fryatt was hot property when we got him to sign a new contract, if his agent was half decent Fryatt would have a release clause in, a minimum release fee and some sort of clause about Premiership clubs coming in for him. In which case we may have no choice in the matter

We have been looking at him, Polish reports confirm that but we'd be competing against clubs far above us for his signature. He turned down Borussia Dortmund in summer and Lazio were sniffing.

The only time I'd sell Fryatt, as much as he frustrates me at times, is if we could use the money to replace him with Beckford. Which we wouldn't be able to. Meaning we should keep Fryatt.

Glad we could clear that up. Next?

Minimum release fee's, in general, are insanely high, I very much doubt we'd have a clause which could result in us losing him that easily against our will.

The deciding factor is if he wants to leave or not, and how much we are offered.

3 million, to me, is not enough, a fair price it may be why should we sell one of main assets for a "fair" price given his record we should be asking for 4 or 5 or just not bothering.

Martinez looks like he's trying to work fast. He's just been rebuffed for a £4m bid for Celtic's Scott McDonald after they wouldn't let him have him on loan for the rest of the season with a view to paying then.

Not at liberty to divulge anything because it's just a rumour, but the whisper I've heard today doesn't sound good.

Would rather we didn't sell but if he goes and we get Koumas & money then I think it won't derail us that much. As good as Fryatt has been this season he is never going to be a top Prem striker. He may also think that they have a better chance of staying up than we have of going up. He is not a Leicester fan so a big fat payrise and the chance to play in the Premier League would be far too good to turn down. Put yourself in his shoes. Footballers only have a short career and who can blame him for making the most out of it while he can.

Crowd favourites come and go. The club won't fold if he goes. It may well give Gallagher a chance to play in his proper position for a change or someone else may come in and take up the mantle.

Where's that come from?

Wishful thinking on my part tis all. :D

Doesn't get a game for them and would certainly improve our midfield. That wasn't really the point I was trying to make though. If the guy wants to test himself against the best then we should not stand in his way as long as the deal is right for us.

What I got told last night, while slightly wasted it has to be said, is not good.

To be quite honest though, IF we lose him then it may not be as bad as people are making out. Ofcourse i'd love to see him stay here, always rated him but if he were to go then we may have a bit of money to splash about on a few decent players. Plus, we already have Gallagher (he will score goals for us if played upfront), Waghorn, Kermorgant and Howard here anyway. £4.5 mil sounds about right tbh. Spend £2 mil each on some real quality :dunno:
