ozleicester Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 MM will do what he wants, Fryatt will do what he wants, as will Fryatts agent Quite sure none of them give a shit what I want Aah I'm sure there's some out there that cares lou You really think so? I care Lou... oh and... i think its safe to say.. bye bye Matty
surrifox Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 how much does the club get to keep out of £3 mill?- Walsall get a hefty chunk of that under the sell on arrangement
Guest ttfn Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 I don't see this happening. Even if (and it's a big if) it's true, and Wigan were about to bid £3 million, Fryatt leaving would still depend on: a) Us accepting the bid b) Him wanting to leave. I'd suggest neither of those are foregone conclusions. The saddest thing about Fryatt leaving would be that he is our longest serving player. Since Izzet left we've not really had anybody who's hung around long enough to be seen as a true 'Leicester player'. He's been in or around our first team for 4 years, and I would be truly disappointed to see him leave, especially for the fee being suggested here.

It'll be more down to whether he wants to leave or his agent wants him to leave. Remember Mattock? If a player wants out there's very little point in trying to hang on to him especially one who seems as fragile as Fryatt is.

It's part of the problem of the modern game, and I very much hope he stays. Games like Sheff Utd and QPR show how good he is. I'd hate to see him go
Lillehamring Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 i can't see him going to a club in the frame for relegation, it can't be good for a player to be relegated every other year... lets hope this is nothing more than the usual journalistic shambles during the TFW where a top CCC player is linked with an ordinary/struggling prem team. if the price is only £3M, then i'm sure there are better teams than wigan that would snap him up...
MPH Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 City may face fight for FryattLeicester City's resolve to keep leading scorer Matty Fryatt could be tested during the January transfer window. Speculation has been rife that Premier League clubs, including Hull City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been monitoring the 23-year-old ever since his superb start to the season. This weekend, press reports linked Wigan with a possible £3 million move for City's 12-goal striker (pictured. Sources in Lancashire say the reports could be more than speculation as Latics boss Roberto Martinez has been an admirer of Fryatt's talents since they were team-mates at Walsall during the 2002-03 season. Wigan have a striker shortage and Martinez has prioritised strengthening his attack this month. City boss Nigel Pearson has stated he will have to wheel and deal in the transfer market to strengthen his team. It is believed he has identified at least two targets, but he will not make a move until he has moved players on. Pearson will certainly be reluctant to sell his top scorer and main striker, and an offer of just £3 million may not be enough to tempt him. The City boss would prefer to finance any signings by off-loading players considered surplus to requirements. He has been linked with moves for Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert, Bristol Rovers midfielder Chris Lines and Birmingham City utility man Damien Johnson. A defender will certainly be on Pearson's shopping list, especially as Aleksandar Tunchev's injury problems continue, while Gilbert is a player Pearson knows well after his loan stint at the Walkers Stadium last season. City have been linked with 24-year-old Lines before, but the Rovers player is out of contract in the summer. If he doesn't agree a new contract by the end of the month he will be free to talk to other clubs about a summer move and City are said to be interested. Blues veteran Johnson, who has only just returned to action after more than a year on the sidelines with a spinal disc problem, is also out of contract at the end of the season and City are believed to have shown an interest in the past in the Northern Ireland international, who can play central midfield, right midfield and at right back. However, Blues boss Alex McLeish may be reluctant to let the 31-year-old leave at the moment as Lee Carsley and full-back Stuart Parnaby picked up injuries at Nottingham Forest at the weekend and could be out of action for several weeks. Johnson looks likely to leave St Andrew's in the summer but McLeish may need persuading to let him join City now unless he is able to strengthen his squad this month. One piece of business completed yesterday was the extension of striker Billy Kee's stay at Accrington Stanley. Kee, who has made 22 appearances Seems to be stuff already banded about and the reporters own views added. Nothing new, really... http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/City-fac...il/article.html
haraven Posted 6 January 2010 Author Posted 6 January 2010 I wouldn't talk to Fryatt ever again if he left. Tell him from me that I want him to stay, and at least don't go to a team that will get relegated while we pass them on their way down. If you chit-chat with him that often
SMX11 Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 £3 million isn't going to be accepted by us. Milan should realise that if he sell Fryatt behind the back of Pearson he will be off. If I was Pearson I wouldn't sell for anything less than £8 million. Can't see this happening tbh.
Jimmy Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 the valuations some people on here give our players is ridiculous

foxoffderby Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Wouldn't want matty to go for £3m, however if someone was to bid £4m - £4.5m I think that would be a fair valuation. It would cover any addons for Walsall give us some money to spend, put some money into the club to payback some debt and the prem buyer is getting one of the best young English strikers in the CCC. A fair deal for all concerned.
Joe. Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 In today's market, an English striker of his age and current goal-scoring form would fetch somewhere around £4m + add ons I'd have thought. Considering Jason Scotland joined Wigan for around £3m and he's 30 I'd think that's about right. I'd be very disappointed if we let him go for that little.

Anywhere above £3.5m and I think the club will consider it.

Callabinho Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 He will go i think ! but he should really hang on get his goals in this league first ! as for us I would love to see Robert Lewandowski come in, I know Pearson has been looking at him since the summer however me may loose out to Fulham ! Personally id like to see us have a look at some defenders maybe ? and maybe another winger ?
SMX11 Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 £8,000,000?For Fryatt? I know he is not worth that money, but if Victor Moses is worth 5 mil id say Fryatt is worth 5-6 Mil , saying that Moses is over rated imo
