Edmund Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Was going to say. He had fook all service today. When he did and he made that run down the flank he looked deadly.
shen Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Fryatt put in a free transfer performance today. If the £5m is true snap their hands off. Twice he got the ball in the first half, both times he went on a solo run and managed to get decent shots on target. He would have scored as well if it wasn't for a brilliant reflex save by their keeper at the start of the second. Can't ask for much more with such paltry service though...
Edmund Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Hopefully the clubs who are after him decide against making a bid for him and are deluded as some of our own fans who think he did fook all today. Todays inept performance from the midfield could have saved us our star man.
Maybes Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Fryatt is priceless to us, I'd like to hear who people would buy with the money because I can't think of anyone else better out there that we'd realistically be able to bring in. I hope the club don't risk derailing this season by selling our top goalscorer and desperately scrabble around to find a replacement when there's no guarantee they'd do any good. Paul Gallagher case in point, scored plenty of goals at Plymouth but comes here and looks like a misfit. Harsh. He's hardly been played upfront. Im not saying he could fill fryatts shoes for one second, but calling him a misfit is laughable. Fryatt is priceless to us, but lets be honest. Wigan offer us £5m and he is gone.
Ozwin Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 I thought Fryatt looked pretty buff today, liked he'd been working on his upper body.
Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Oh, and stop using that 'thumbup' thing. If you want to be sarcastic, do it using text. If anything, for more credibility. I HATE the 'thumbup' thing. It's used pretty much exclusively by the self-righteous to patronise everybody else, as if to say 'shut up little boy and let the big boys talk about it'. Amazing how much it pisses me off.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 I must say 5m is a fair price, but I still wouldn't take it. I think that without Fryatt got the rest off this season we could wave our play-off push goodbye. He a young quality striker that can score lots of goals. There's not much more you could ask for, and even if we had 5m I don't think we could bring in a replacment as good and as valuable tobthe team as him.
skinnydipper Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Fryatt put in a free transfer performance today. If the £5m is true snap their hands off. You're right . On the basis of today's performance Howard is far more prolific. £5m for Howard please and we'll hang on to Fryatt

BoneDog Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 I've watched all of Fryatt's goals from last season and this season again. Quite a few of them are 'cking beautiful. The skill level involved is high on many of them. I'm starting to think that £6.5million is a fair price for all concerned.
CKB Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 I'm starting to think that £6.5million is a fair price for all concerned. That is just stupid!!! ..............at least 7 mil!

That was absolute beaut first touch
Nod.E Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 awww dedums. Daggers will tell you - doesnt matter if you have over 30,000 posts or 5 , if i think you are out of order, i will tell you. .. the space between those two full stops is how bothered i am by you and both your accounts, and your attempts to be angry at me. I also have an idea... if you want to discuss this futher email me and we can discuss it there - this thread has been taken off track for long enough now... 'Daggers, my big friend who's well respected on this forum will tell you.' - Pull yourself together, boy. I love you - - < thaaaaaat much. Jesus christ. This really is playground stuff, untill, of course you use the internet equivalent to 'let's take this outside.' - Wowzers. You've got my attention, now where are ya gonna go with it? Can I get one thing straight? - As it seems one thing is as much as I can hope for, seeing as you still think I'm the same guy as Furio. - I am not angry. As a matter of fact, I've quite enjoyed this little rally of opinions. It's given me quite the ego boost. I won't be replying to your reply to this. As tempting as I know it'll be, I feel that my work here is already done.

If Torres had done that Mark Lawrenson would have jizzed himself
dandannieldanok Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 If we really played to his strengths (which tbf we have done in about half of the games this season) he'd probably have 10 more goals this season.
Tommeh Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 who is Nod.E? He's much more known and respcted than you. Wouldn't sell Fryatt full stop. I'm hardly a huge bummer of him but surely most people can see he's the difference betwen us being top 6 and bottom 10. Anyway what would £5m really get? MM would do well to offfer just half to NP for his replacemant the said guy would be expected to really hit the ground running and especially if their going to be a lower league guy like Fryatt was it'll be a lot to ask. He struggled much initially back in 2006 and so have Simon Cox and Billy Sharp recently after making step ups. Give us £12m and Paul Scharner, spend the money on Abou Diaby and take Alessandro Diamanti on a 3 year loan deal and I'll consider the business brisk.

It wouldnt matter if it were £2m or £10m. We wouldnt be able to attract a striker of equal quality to replace him. They just wouldnt come here.

El Furio Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Why? Basically because we are a promoted team that more often than not play the long ball game. A quality striker wont want to come into a team that plays that style of football. The reason Forest are attracting so many quality players is down to the fact that they play attacking one touch football which most players want to be involved in.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 11 January 2010 Posted 11 January 2010 Long ball game was very evident yesterday and some of the Ipswich fans were very critical of it.
