Maybes Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Not sure of the credibility of the source but £5m for Matty Fryatt would be a great deal.
MikeyT Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Not sure of the credibility of the source but £5m for Matty Fryatt would be a great deal. Would be a good deal, and if he did go i just hope we can get someone in as soon as possible that can start banging the goals in from day one.
Flynny Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 5m would be a decent price, not loads considering Roger Johnson the centre-back cost the same, but enough to accept.
casablancas Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 10mil for rodellaga??? feck no they'll never get that
Lillehamring Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Can't see the problem if Pearson is prepared to let Fryatt go, even if he has had a good 18 months. The manager might be able to get a better partnership going up front because, in my opinion, Fryatt's style of play doesn't exactly gel with others. If he's not scoring or the team are up against it he ain't a lot of good to the side, to be honest. this is where my thoughts where at at the moment... milan won't sell fryatt if pearson doesn't want it to happen, with pearson's contract talks supposedly still in the balance, milan could risk losing more than just a decent striker. and pearson is unlikely to agree to the sale unless he has a very clear idea of who he will replace him with. whatever milan has been like in the past, i'm pretty sure he knows the value of keeping pearson, and pearson's track record has been decent so far at picking the players he needs. worst case scenario if fryatt goes, is that gally or waghorn or whoever is brought in fails to do the job, best case scenario is that whoever becomes first choice up front does a better job and will be effective if we get promoted too...
MC Prussian Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 The figures keep mounting. £5m? Not bad at all, although I'd rather keep Fryatt until the summer at least. Both Wigan and Birmingham will have sorted their striker issue by then and Fryatt's value will also have increased comes May, should he keep on scoring like he does right now. The question that I ask myself is - what would the club do with all that money? Surely parts of it would be used to cover the current debt, right?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Nothing against Fryatt, but I'd flog him for £5m. Hooper would be a decent shout as a replacement.
Bryn Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 It's rarely wise to sell a key player in January. If they offer that we're not really in a position to turn it down, because that's three good players to us, but... there is a high likelyhood that we will be derailed whoever we bring in. Let's hope that whatever happens happens soon so we have the best chance of recovering.
dandannieldanok Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Fryatt is priceless to us, I'd like to hear who people would buy with the money because I can't think of anyone else better out there that we'd realistically be able to bring in. I hope the club don't risk derailing this season by selling our top goalscorer and desperately scrabble around to find a replacement when there's no guarantee they'd do any good. Paul Gallagher case in point, scored plenty of goals at Plymouth but comes here and looks like a misfit.
Nod.E Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 That's a bit of a berkish thing to put. Who respects people more because they have bigger post counts? Good from you. After reading this thread, I'd say that I've gained more respect for Furio than I have for MPH. So MPH has 4,000+ posts. Great. - He's a sniper with bollocks for ammunition. Sure, he's bloody persistent, but Furio's bullets are accurate and they're certainly not the bollocks that MPH uses. MPH is America in this (all too, admittedly) extended metaphor. 'Oops, friendly fire! Sorry guys.' - He's always there. He'll always have something to say, but it's often down right stupid. His attacks usually end up harming the ally. (Himself in this case.) U-S-A! U-S-A! Urgh. MPH; Go to Maccy's or something. Furio; Go to some suave Italian restaurant, you fiendish mafia kid, you.
shiv Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 10mil for rodellaga??? feck no they'll never get that they might do... birmingham did bid £9M for Babel and they have money now they've been taken over

His replacement might work, or he might not. £5 million may be too much for Milan to turn down. He'll need to pay himself a tasty dividend at some point...

My post on him was aimed at his rudeness... the amount of posts i have never entered into my mind.
sdb Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Rodellega is a very tidy player, 10 mill seems reasonable to me. As for Fryatt, I can't see him cutting it in the prem, but anything less than 3mill would be a disaster. We wont find a replacement with so many goals in them at this level easily, if at all.
Blue Bob Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 What needs to be considered is what is the true value of a 20 goals a season player? Matty looks on course to achieve this this season, 30+ last season. You need to look back to Dickov in 2002/03 to see the last time this was achieved, before this it was Roberts in 95/96 and then Alan Smith 86/87!! 4 times in the 23 years!!! From Leicester point of view they dont grow on trees. The season when you do get 20+ normally for us means the top end of the table or promotion - either one has got to be worth more then 5 million with better gate receipts, TV revenue and prize money. Unless fryatt is saying he wants to move on, then I would not be tempted to cash in as a 20 goals a season player maybe another 5 season away again!!
Nod.E Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 looks like we have found El Furios other account! Looks like we've found the kind of guy who creates transfer rumours in the Sunday fvcking Sport. As furio referred to earlier; '2+2 does not equal 5' - It is possible to have two members that can type in normal English. It's not something ground breakingly clever, to be able to type properly. It's as if you're saying 'b.. but... two members. They both type properly. IT'S THE SAME PERSON!' and for the record, not that it really matters or that i have to justify myself to anyone... My post on him was aimed at his rudeness... the amount of posts i have never entered into my mind. So why did you refer to his low post count? Are you telling me that you'd make that comment if you had a low post count, too? Oh, and stop using that 'thumbup' thing. If you want to be sarcastic, do it using text. If anything, for more credibility.
sbfox Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 For those saying who else would be bring in... Beckford As good as Fryatt was in League 1 and IMO a better goalscorer. I dunno, an idea maybe?
MPH Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Oh, and stop using that 'thumbup' thing. If you want to be sarcastic, do it using text. If anything, for more credibility. awww dedums. Daggers will tell you - doesnt matter if you have over 30,000 posts or 5 , if i think you are out of order, i will tell you. .. the space between those two full stops is how bothered i am by you and both your accounts, and your attempts to be angry at me. I also have an idea... if you want to discuss this futher email me and we can discuss it there - this thread has been taken off track for long enough now...
Edmund Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 i think what is most disappointing about this, is that we haven't heard anything from the club pushing the price up... Looks like you got your wish. Rodellega is a very tidy player, 10 mill seems reasonable to me. This.
maddog Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Fryatt put in a free transfer performance today. If the £5m is true snap their hands off.
Flynny Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 Could we sign Chris Martin? Not the Coldplay singer, that'd be weird, although at least it'd pause his musical career.

Three men sweeping up Howard's flick ons and woeful distribution whenever the ball was on the floor, he could hardly get near.
Guest Bilo Posted 10 January 2010 Posted 10 January 2010 What the fuck are you talking about? Three men sweeping up Howard's flick ons and woeful distribution whenever the ball was on the floor, he could hardly get near. Spot on. That was why he was next to useless in the 07-08 season. Play the ball into feet or flick the ball onto him and he will score. Hoof it up to him and he's neither tall nor strong enough to get on to it, pass the ball to the touchlines and he ain't going to get to it. Doesn't take Einstein to work it out.
