Vlad The Impaler Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 £4.5?!Whack a few million off that. Why? He's arguably our best player, we'd be fools to let him go for 'a few million' less. And Yes I agree with MPH, he's done alot for our club and if he wants a move away to the premier, then so be it. I won't hold a grudge, he's done his fair share of work here.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Why?He's arguably our best player, we'd be fools to let him go for 'a few million' less. Not denying that, but he'll not be leaving for that price.
Edmund Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Not denying that, but he'll not be leaving for that price. Spill the beans or stfu
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Spill the beans or stfu PROMISCUOUS GIRL, YOU'RE TEASING ME.
maddog Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 I would only be happy if we bought in Beckford with Fryatts cash OR Wigan gave us Scotland plus £1m Anything else and it will be a disaster.
lovelcfc Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 I dont think fryatt will go. wigan are not doing anything in the prem and you are probley going to do more with leicester anyway wigan are rubbish
MPH Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 I would only be happy if we bought in Beckford with Fryatts cash OR Wigan gave us Scotland plus £1mAnything else and it will be a disaster. How old is Scotland? isnt he in his 30's now? to ge him and only 1m, i would consider a disaster... I wonder if the way round the add on we will have to give wallsall would be to sign just players from Wigan... would be have to give them cash in that circumstance?
Guest ttfn Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 What I got told last night, while slightly wasted it has to be said, is not good. That's a pretty dickish thing to do, come on a forum and make a vague comment like that...
Babylon Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 would be have to give them cash in that circumstance? Nope, forest and yeovil did something a bit iffy to get around the sell on clause a few seasons back. Forest paid a million odd for Chris Cohen and Arron Davies, I think Cohen had a sell on clause so they said most of the money was for Davies and only a tiny bit for Cohen.... when really Cohen was the main asset. That's what I seem to remember anyway.
Edmund Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Martinez talking to skysports : http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_5836837,00.html Despite opting to remain cautious in the transfer window the Spaniard admits he is at advanced stages of negotiations with a number of targets "But I can say we are very advanced on one or two things at the moment."
Lillehamring Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 i think what is most disappointing about this, is that we haven't heard anything from the club pushing the price up... if it was us trying to buy someone, you can rest assured the sellers would be talking the price sky high. i'm pretty sure, if he goes we won't know the value, the cynic in me says milan will accept the £3M price tag that the papers made up, and just announce that he has been sold for 'an undisclosed fee'- but, dear god, why would fryatt want to go to bloody wigan?
MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 ...but, dear god, why would fryatt want to go to bloody wigan? Because Wigan are more massive than Leicester, are short of English-born players, boast spectacular crowds for each home game and... ... they play in the Premier League and attract football giants like Hull or Burnley at least twice a season. Plus, Wigan could be relegated in a few months time, whereas Leicester's six-year hiatus from top-flight football could be over by then. (It's not about the money, tell thee)
Ozwin Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Stop posting in this topic, I shit myself whenever there's a new post.
Daggers Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Everyone is wrong - Wigan are after the Dickov/Campbell dream team.

Tilley Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 I have heard he is off for £2.5 million. Oh & I saw Grant Holt at the Walkers on Monday.
Samilktray Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Ive heard things too. But none involve an Angolan arriving.
BoneDog Posted 8 January 2010 Posted 8 January 2010 I think he's defo going somewhere else. It will be a shame if he does go but I can't see how no good bids are gonna come in for him. Hopefully Gallagher/Waghorn can fit into his role perfectly. Plus Nige will have his eye on a fine replacement surely.
foxer Posted 8 January 2010 Posted 8 January 2010 He would surely have someone in mind if the worse does come to the worse.

Samilktray Posted 8 January 2010 Posted 8 January 2010 Can only be the Freemasons or the Illuminati behind this.

Can only be the Freemasons or the Illuminati behind this. Definitely cos all Prem and Championship chairman are Masons. So even though it's not a conspiracy they are still behind it!
Callabinho Posted 8 January 2010 Posted 8 January 2010 well we will see, if Matty is in it for the love of football then he will stay and prove himself! if he wants a bigger salary then he will walk...
tewkesbury-fox Posted 8 January 2010 Posted 8 January 2010 Have Wigan Actually got any money ?? I would imagine NP will need the money up front so we can buy a replacment Reserves Celtic have turned down an approach from Wigan for striker Scott McDonald. Wigan manager Roberto Martinez revealed he wanted the Australian on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. But he did not have the funds to complete an instant deal in January for McDonald, who has netted 64 goals in 128 games since signing from Motherwell. "We did make an approach to Celtic to sign Scott McDonald but it was turned down," Martinez told the Scottish Daily Express. "We had wanted Scott on loan with a view to paying the full transfer in the summer. "I think if they are to sell Scott McDonald then they will want any transfer fee up front but we are simply not in a position to do that. "I tried to get him in the last window but that was also turned down."
